I have been a medical transcriptionist in Feb will be 9 years. Hopefully I can take some of the terminology courses and just take the test and hopefully pass. Like I said before I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to get certified so I will be a CMT and have a degree but I'm not really sure yet.

MBURKETT2 - I'm working with Vocational Rehabilitation to pay for the schooling, so it is up to them as to which school I go to. I am looking at going with Career Step, which is also an online program. Maybe once I get this completed and start working again, I might be able to go on to get a more advanced degree. I actually do have a Bachelor's degree, but it is in Computer Art & Design, in other words, Computer graphics. Unfortunately where we live there are no jobs for graphic artists.

I hope you are right. I just don't know where I'm going to find the energy.

I have been really bad lately about my eating especially since I discovered a sweet potato bundt cake.

I have been craving sweets and of course chocolate and I have no idea how to stop it. emoticon

Thank you all so much.

I'm trying to decide that if (or should I saw when) I get my Associates degree if I want to become certified or not.

CAHANIM8R - I am actually taking these courses online. I am starting Kaplan University You should check it out instead of just getting certified you will actually get a degree, which will probably get you more money although it may take longer but like I said I may get certified and my Associates degree do you that would be too much? Hopefully later I can get my Bachelors degree.

Mary Beth.....................good for you.................
here is a little poem to help you on your new journey..........

BELIEF MAKES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE

In order to succeed, you must first believe that you can.
The only true limit to your realization of tomorrow
will be your doubts of today.

The only thing that stands between you and what you want
from life, is the will to try it and the faith to believe that
it's possible.

The moment you carry the conviction of belief,
in that moment your dream will become reality.

If you think you can, you can.

wishing you every success............blessings and hugs...............lita

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

You can do it!!! My mom went back to school when I was a sophomore in high school and got her Bachelor's Degree in teaching and then at the age of 50 she went back to school again and finally got her RN license. She had been a LPN for more than 20 years and finally went back. After 2 years, still teaching high school kids, on her birthday at the age of 52, and got the RN license. That has made my mom a role model in my eyes. This will probably do the same with your kids.

I am also trying to go to school to get certification in Medical transcription.
emoticon emoticon YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

COngratulations and well done. Of course you can do it and the fact that you are now leading a healthy lifestyle will boost yout energy resources and your mind will be clearer. I went back to university when I was 43 years old, had 4 kids still at home and completed and passed my course. If I can do it then so can you!!
Best wishes

I all. I hope everything is going well. I'm sorry I haven't been very active lately but life has gotten the best of my time.

I found out a few weeks ago that I can get an Associates degree, a Bachelor's degree and maybe a doctorate in medical transcription. Who knew. Well I start school tomorrow after being out of school for 26 years. I'm excited but I'm also scared to death. I will be the first one in my family who will have a degree.

I'm sitting here thinking that I must be crazy starting school again. My life is already busy and now there is so much I need to do for school so that I can't think straight. I have to get my experiential (sp?) portfolio done and I have no idea what I'm doing not to mention the money it is going to cost. Wish me luck and pray that I can succeed because right now I'm really wondering if I can go to school, work, workout and eat healthy. emoticon emoticon
