Hopefully, you'll get some sleep tonight. Sounds like you were in the manic part of bipolar.

Have a TERRIFIC day!

i too feel low on energy. usually i pep up at meals which gives me the energy to prepare them. my problem is due to all new drugs and dosage, my body has yet to absorb them. I am bipolar. just off an 8 day zero sleep period. this makes it easier to see the cause. good luck, this too shall pass.

There could be a multitude of causes for this and you received some really good advice from everyone. Maybe you should see your MD for a check up.

Personally I feel terrible when I eat too many carbs.

-American consumers have no problem with carcinogens, but they will not purchase any product, including floor wax, that has fat in it. - Dave Barry
-My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four; unless there are three other people. - Orson Welles
-The food here is terrible, and the portions are too small. - Woody Allen

These are good suggestions. As I look back I don't think I'm consistently getting enough protein or enough water, so I'll try those first.

Thanks!

Have you considered taking a multivitamin?, eating every 2-3 hours?, incorporating more proteing in your meals?

Has there been any change in your sleep habits? Do you wake up feeling refreshed? If not, then perhaps your sleep needs are increasing and you need to get a little more...say 8 hours...? Or perhaps to deepen your sleep you could try some relaxation exercises or guided imagery as you're lying there falling asleep?

You could try to get more water so that your MINIMUM is 8 glasses.

What time of day do you workout? Ideally not too close to bedtime. Try varying your workout times to see what works best for you. I am a die-hard morning workout fan...get 'er outta the way first thing when I wake up!

Try varying your workout choices. Mixing it up can help you stumble upon activities that rev you up!

I don't think there are any miracle foods that will give you a boost, although I could be wrong. I would instead focus on steering your food choices AWAY from the highly processed, sugary, fatty and starchy things. Also sometimes folks benefit from spreading your eating throughout the day, having several smaller meals with healthy snacks in between.

Keep trying new strategies. Pick one at a time so you can pinpoint what really makes a difference for you.

Let us know how you do in working to overcome this! I'm glad you posted here! :-)

How often do you eat and what do you eat?

I find that eating every 2-3 hours keeps my energy up throughout the day. I always try to have a protein and a complex carb at every meal. The complex carbs give you energy and the protein keeps you from getting hungry.

Are you eating enough? Make sure you are getting your required calories for the day...never less than 1200. And also try to consume no less than 60g of protein/day.

STAY STRONG!!

Ok all, I need some good advice! I have been so absolutley physically exhausted these past few weeks, and it's really frustrating. I don't get up during the night, and I typically get about 7 hours of sleep a night. I try to get at least 4 glasses of water a day, some days I'm closer to 8. I've also been trying to do some sort of exercise every day.

So--what is the deal? Any ideas on energizing foods to include or maybe I'm not falling deep enough asleep?

Help...
