You can also go talk with some personal trainers and get a lot of valuable info from them.
Together We can do it- alone "I" fail
"If you don't think every day is a great day try going without one."
"I have you and even if we never meet or ever see each other, we have left our thumbprints in the thick, moist clay of each other's lives."
If you want to concentrate more on the personal training aspect you can visit ISSA like you've done or go to NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). They do certifications for both personal training and for strength and conditioning specialists.
However if you are really serious about the nutrition aspect you can research close by Universities for that major. If you graduate with a bachelors degree and become a registered nutritionist you can work with anyone from pediatrics to adult athletes, own your own business etc.
The choice is really up to you as far as the level of education you want and the amount of money you can spend.
As far as financial aide when going to a community college or 4 yr university you can apply for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). These are grants awarded by the government and don't have to be paid back.
For all other programs you can take out loans and pay them back through the money earned.
Goodluck, let us know how the search comes along for you =)

American fitness Professionals and Associates and yes, you order your books, cds, videos, cassettes, all in one package. I became Certified Nutrition & Wellness Consultant, and I get recertified every 2 years by taking more courses the same way. I am not studying to become a Personal Trainer. www.afpafitness.com, it is very affordable. There are other companies like ACE also. I furthered my education with my career and the jobs I previously held but now own my own business, so you can take your education where you want to...good luck. Connie Allen

I'm hoping some of the others on this Team who are already active as professionals in this area might chime in some advice from their experiences...?

Thanks Patricia, Yes I did do that but just got soooo many. Again, didn't know where to start.
I did a google search on 'nutrition and personal trainer schools' and got several hits. You may want to try that to start.

I am really interested in joing the career of nutrition and personal trainer. Where do I start? Is this training done on-line? Is there any school/corses you can recomend? I've heard of ISSA, is there others that are better? Is financial aid available for this?
Thanks for any help you can send my way. I don't know where to start.
