I'm in health information with a long history in coding. Don't expect a one day course to teach you everything about coding. You'll need to take a lot of notes and a lot of studying at home to get started. I had a year of coding in college (in the HIM Bachelors program) to be able to consider myself proficient enough in it.
I wish I could help. Good luck with the class and the test. Take lots of notes... maybe you could record it? Sometimes I find that helps in a lecture type situation.
Be sure to get enough sleep the night before your test and eat some eggs the morning of your test. Research shows that people who eat eggs before they take a test do better. I swear! Since I read that... I always make my kids eat eggs the morning of their tests.

A loving heart is the truest wisdom. Charles Dickens
Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Oliver Goldsmith
Anyone here know anything about the Home Health Coding test? My work has decided to send me to an all day class and then I take a cert test the next day. I am getting an ICD9 PPS 2008 update book from Decision Health...when I can get myself to pay the $190 for the book. UGH! I'm a bit nervous about this, as I am very new to coding.
Just wondering if anyone else has done this or has any suggestions?
