Just a reminder to all of you who have racked up over 1300 cardio minutes this month to private mail me so I can list your names in the final post of the month.

This has been a super month and it's been wonderful to see everyone putting in such great CARDIO efforts!!

Also feel free to post ideas for the March Challenge. I think I'll continue the cardio and am considering ANDALEX's suggestion of tracking strength. Perhaps tracking the total number of strength-building sessions we've done for the month...? I'm VERY open to ideas...!

i like that the february challenge has a theme: heart health. what march-themed challenge could we do? maybe something related to strength training since march is supposed to come "in like a lion"?

I see we've spilled over into TWO web pages we have so many folks joining in the challenge!

WTG everyone! It's already the 22nd...be thinking about our next challenge...shall we see how much we can rack up for March?

Do we want to keep up the cardio and add another to it so we have a DOUBLE challenge?

Put your thoughts out there...I'll look back on feedback others have offered in the past via SparkMail and start kicking around some choices.

Guess I was wrong, re: Fitness Minutes = Cardio Minutes. Here's the word from Spark Coach Jen:

"SparkAmerica assumes 5 minutes for each strength exercise tracked, so those minutes include both cardio and strength.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen"

Guess that makes it a little tricky to figure cardio minutes...

i know that when i look up my "fitness minutes", the tally shows a few minutes for each strength training exercise i do as well as the cardio. that's what originally made me wonder what we're counting in the challenge. i don't think it'll really change anything, i was just curious :)

thanks!

Thx for the tip SPARKLE2008, and I'll check on that Alex, but I think fitness minutes are the same as cardio, because when we track strength-building exercises time is not a factor, only repetitions. I think time is the common denominator for cardio minutes. I'll post the question to the Team Leaders forum to double-check, tho.

hey don-

for this challenge, are we just tracking cardio minutes? or combined fitness minutes? the only reason i ask is because the group tally on the sparkteam page is fitness minutes, i think. is there a way to just isolate the group cardio minutes?

thanks!

Don: For whatever reason, my browser does not have the edit option, so what I found is the F3 button gives you the option to type in what you want/need to find. When you press F3 a box pops up and you can put in your SP name and hit the next button and it will bring you to your section on the string.

Hope this helps. And keep up the great work everyone!

Thanks for that info Don... as the string is getting very long, it is getting harder to find that original post to edit it and add in the day's cardio minutes.

Just want to say this challenge is a great inspiration and has gotten me up and moving. Just love that!

Have a great week!

Rather than post this message into the challenge itself and adding to its length, just wanted to say how IMPRESSED I am with the number of folks joining in on the challenge and the effort you are all putting into it! Woo hoo!

Are we all going to be ready to come out and SHINE for spring and summer or WHAT?!?! :-)

Everyone have a super Tuesday...even those of us in the drippy northeast...lol!

And those of you in primary states...please VOTE!!

Don

PS: a little trick if you're having trouble finding your post on the long, long February Challenge list: go to the top of your browser (IE7 or Firefox) and click "Edit" and "Find on this page" and enter your SP member name and it will zoom right to your post.
