Try short spurts of walking like 10 mins each 3X a day, Walking is much easier on your knees than running. Also, when you habe a few mins (your client is resting, etc.), use your hand weights to do some exercises and squats. If your asthma bugs you when exercising, take your spray a few mins before working out.

Sorry to hear you are out of sorts. Have them check your Vitamin d levels. I just discovered it can affect all kinds of things from asthma to cancer to MS. Mine were low. I am feeling better about things. I am going to try the sit and fit PBS program to get started with exercising again. With caregiving, I just don't feel I can leave her to go to the gym and taking her along is out of the question. Hang in there - we are quite a pair!

Hello Kate and didn't know this from the meds. I have not done serious exercise in a while now not do to this but just dealing with down in the dumps blues. Been dealing with different family problems and it's really getting me down some days. I have alot of back pain already and don't sleep along time due to back hurting as well. I have had knee surgery when I was a kid as well so they don't work right as well. This has prevented me from running because the left knee does not work right when it bends. For me I usually do things very slowly and I work out on the kids WII because it gives you small intervals of a workout. I pray things get better for you soon.

I now have osteoporosis from my asthma medication. Is anyone else out there also dealing with this double wammy? Exercise is a big deal but I have too many excuses why I don't.
I am a caregiver, need knee replacement, and have asthma. I use to exercise but then we moved and I haven't since I became a caregiver. I also have not had an asthma episode nor hip pain since I stopped. I am feeling overwhelmed and not sure how in the world I am going to manage exercise.
