i only recently started having problems with full blown asthma and i am not really impressed with the asthma problem. i have had allergy triggered asthma since my 20;s when i learned i was allergic to cats and the cat was a manx (hairless cat) not sure if i spelled the kind of cat correctly. in my 30 i learned it wasn't only cats but trees pollens weeds grasses don't forget the dustmites and other allergens. now i am making effort to exercise, august was the pits and september i made progress but not sure of how i made it through. thought i had the asthma under control but today after a lot of stress and a flu shot(too early for the host to have any effect only been an hour) i am feeling the weight on my chest again so deep breaths are out and yawns are not helping. so it will be a slow exercise night such as reclining bicycle. the best thing you can do is set goals you can do. if it means walking to the end of your driveway and back start with that when you feel this is too easy then make it two times up and down the driveway. but if you have to step back to once back and forth pat yourself on the back and say at least i did it.

Well, you should always check with your doctor first, but from what you posted, it sounds like you need to keep walking down the block (one block down and one block back). When that gets easy, walk two blocks down and two blocks back. When that gets easy, go to three, etc.
Gradually increase your activity!
Ask your doctor: would you benefit from using an albuterol inhaler 30 minutes before you exercise?

i have exercise induced asthma and when i start to walk like down the block i'm already running out of air. i like to walk my dogs but sometimes i can't. what do you all do when you can't even go down the block for some exercise? i want to lose this weight but not go to the er cause i can't breath
