KBMomma - can you direct me to the research you discovered that talks about the predisone taper and singulair. Thanks.

I just started it three weeks ago, but I'm not sure if I like it. I think it messes with my mood and also my muscles are extra soar. I'm waiting to finish my prednisone taper before making a decision about it because while researching about it I found out that most of the really weird side effects that singulair can have, happen when the patient is on a steroid taper.

Flonase helps my sinuses but I don't get headaches anymore since when I feel pressure, I alternate hot and cold compresses on my face.

I take it with Advair. So far I have not had to get out the nebulizer this winter. I started seeing an acupuncturist and what a difference he is making with my chronic sinus headaches! I wish I had tried him along time ago! I have been on singulair now for 12 years. Prior to it, I was hospitalized for my asthma at least twice a year. So it has really helped me!

I took claritin or allegra til the insurance stopped covering them. The drugstore made up the prescription with generic claritin this month and the price was $11.00. After 3 months without it, I paid for it and glad I did.

I take the tablet form at night as well. It definitely makes a difference for me, as I have allergy induced asthma (and I'm allergic to near everything).

Something else that has helped me in the past, but I can no longer take due to insurance reasons, is allegra. Made all the difference in the world.

I take a tablet form at night. I use to think it kept me from sleeping, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Missed a couple days last week, and what a difference, it is on my night stand so I DON'T FORGET.

I have been taking it for several years along with Advair and QVar inhalers.

I was taking it at night too. I'm going to give it another try. The sleepies may have been caused by another medication. My doctor took me off Advair because of the increased risk of "death by Asthma attack" (ironic, because it works so well) and I'd really love to get off of steroids altogether.

It worked well for me, but made me so tired I couldn't function so I had to go off it.

I have been on it now 4 years. I did not know if it was helping or not until recently when I stopped taking it. Wow! what a difference. Good luck!

I have taken Singular and used an Advair Diskus for several years now. The combination works great for me with just occasional flare-ups.
