I have 3 - I keep one in a spibelt (along with my cell phone and a little money) during runs, one in my makeup/personal things bag in my purse, and another in my gym bag.

There are also these things. I don't have one... but they might be right for some people. Actually saw them from an add on Spark people. I think they're slightly dorky, but could be useful to keep your inhaler clean.

Ask your local running store if they have a sports belt with a loop for an inhaler or sell loops you may add to an existing belt.

Thank you all so much for your replies. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use a change purse or something similiar to carry the inhaler. And the digital camera case is such a great idea!

I will definitely check out the store this week to find a case or change purse. I haven't had occasion to use the inhaler, but it will be nice to keep it with me without worrying about it getting all cruddy in my purse!

Thanks everyone!

Brownie, where did you get your spacer? Brand? Mine is new but sooooooooo bulky. I love your username, by the way. I have a cat named Nutfree Brownie; on the day she was born I mistook her for a boy.

I have an awesome new spacer that's really small and keeps everything inside of it, so nothing rattles around. I usually carry bags with some room in them, though, so I don't need to worry about stuff getting cramped.

I too have more than one. I keep one in my purse in a small make-up bag with my other meds I need to take. And I have one that just stays in a pocket in my backpack. I usually have one or the other along. Sometimes both-but if I'm just out for a walk I have a fanny back that it fits in perfectly along with my glucometer and glucose tabs

My type of inhaler has the mouthpiece protector attached with a small plastic piece. I found that I can close it over a small ribbon and then tie it around my neck as I walk. No pockets, no purses...just that bright red ribbon on my chest with my blue inhaler. Then when I need it, it is right there. Now when I am not walking but going in the car, I use a small pouch that I received with my Glucose Meter. It fits just fine in the bottom of my purse. And yes, I do buy two...one for walking and one for the purse. I don't want to leave home without it!!! I cannot wait until someone invents an inhaler that has not only a counter for the doses you use, but for the steps you walk...with an IPOD...all in one...HEY...we can dream!!!

I don't use the box and it is in the zippered compartment in my purse. Now that I have to carry the spacer I actually had to get a bigger purse that had the right size zippered pocket inside to accommodate it. If you go to www.mymeasuresforsuccess.com a site sponsored by symbicort. By recording things there you can win a pouch for free. It doesn't take long.
A girl at my gym carrys her puffer under the strap of her bra in the front. I haven't tried that so I don't know how well it would work.

For general day-to-day running around mine lives in my backpack (I use the small MP3/iPod pocket at the top of it as not much else hangs out in there). When I'm using a purse, it either lives in the small zipper pocket or if it's a small/bitty enough girlie purse it just goes directly inside.

Since I have only one rescue inhaler, I just carry mine when I run. The running pouch is a great idea though, I should look into that.

What do you do to workout?

I have two rescue puffers. One is in my purse, but I don't carry that when I run (its locked in the trunk). The other is in the zipper compartment of my running belt. I have learned that there are attachments you can get for running belts just for inhalers, but so far just using my pouch works.

I keep mine in one of those little mini digital camera cases. It fits pretty well and there are a ton of options out there for a reasonable price. That was the recommendation of my allergist.

Hi All

Ok, this is probably an insignificant question, but it really bugs me! Tell, me what do you use to keep your rescue inhaler in? I keep mine in my purse, since I am likely to have my purse with me in the event that I need the inhaler. But, it's in the box it came in, and is always in the way or falling out of the box and getting lost in the bottom of the purse, which probably doesn't do it any good.

I'm seriously thinking of making a little "puffer purse" with a zipper, so that at least it won't get all yukky when it rattles around in the purse!

Really, how to others carry this little annoyance?
