I got my answer to the question I ask you on another post. I know that when I started back on my shots they helped me out as for my asthma but I still stay tired quite a bit. That is my biggest battle is staying tired and I also have to watch my heart rate because it tends to go high on me. You are right about what the allergy shots are supposed to do. How long have you been taking them?

I get allergy shots once a week. It is a concentrated mix of all the things I am allergic to (dust, indoor\outdoor molds, cats and dogs) I get a red itchy patch but at least my lungs aren't freaking out (which they did before) it seems as though they focus your bodies reaction to the allergy in a different way, eventually helping when you are exposed to the allergen so you don't over-react to it (which is what allergies are) That is what they told me anyways!

I've wondered about this same sort of thing. Are there some kind of antihistamine shots rather than immunotherapy shots?

Yes they are. I am allergic to molds, tree pollen, grass pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. My son also takes them and his are for grass pollen. It has really helped me out alot too. It really helps give me my energy back where I was dragging all the time.

Are the shots that you take the type that are specific for your allergy? I will look up decadron. I think I need to call him to find out what it was, exactly.

Is that like a decadron shot for sinuses? I have had them before to help clear up allergies that are real bad before but not to prevent them. I take the allergy shots and that helps me out wonderfully. It's about the only I can do to help make me feel better.

I normally am very careful about what I put in my body, but for some reason, I let the dr. give me an "allergy" shot that he recommends for me twice a year, once in spring, once in fall. I think it is a type of steroid, like a cortazone shot?

Has anyone else heard of these? He says it will help me not get sick every time I start an exercise program.
