I struggle to exercise in cold weather (we have dry winters here). I try to focus on breathing through my nose (to warm and moisten the air) and it helps.

Yes it is. I also do that with my workouts afterward too. It really helps me stay focused.

What exactly do you do for your deep breathing exercises? Is it like the basic yoga abdominal breathing?

I just do some deep breathing exercises sometimes if I feel an attack coming on to try and prevent using the rescue inhaler. Sometimes it help and sometimes it doesn't.
