Hi all! I'm an Oregonian...and no, it does not rain here all the time as most people assume it does. :) There are many climates and varying altitudes, but it seems most of them don't help asthma too much at all. The coast is the best bet for us asthmatics! :)

Hi everyone...I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and today it is really hot. 97 degrees so far. The climate here is so dry that you can really feel the heat, but it's nothing compared to Scottsdale, Arizona, where my daughter lives. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California but have lived in Albuquerque for the last 35 years. The altitude here is not ideal for us asthmatics, but if you take your meds, you should be fine. I have severe asthma so it is really hard for me to find excerices that I can do. I walk my dog Peaches every day, but I think she get's a better work out than I do!! I try using weights to work out, but that doesn't go to well. Any suggestions?

I live in Bay City, Michigan,,, The Great Lakes State!! Born and raised here, but have actually been to every place that you people have mentioned except Australia and Arkansas. California twice, and I never wanted to leave,,, It is one of the best states I have been to so far,, there is so much to do because it only rains from November to March, so unlike Michigan where you may plan to do something, then it rains, there you can do something different every day and never hit the same place twice,, weather is sublime!!! Very low humidity most of the time,, hence the wildfires,, but Santa Barbara and San Diego are everyone's ideal temp and environment!!!
Santa Barbara is on record for the most perfect temperature year round in the continental U.S.!!

This was a great idea!!
We are at 73 degrees today, been beautiful,, snow will fly in a few months, so we savor this weather!!!

I live on the East Coast of Virgina. I was born in Newport News, moved to Gloucester when I was 2 and lived there for 11 years, moved back to Newport News, and now I'm living in Hampton, VA. So I haven't moved far throughout my (nearly) 22 years :) If there's anyone on here from NC, my heart goes out to you for those terrible fires; I can only imagine how that's reacting with your asthma :( The smoke from the fires is blowing over here; I have to stay indoors most of the time or I'll start to wheeze after a while.

Born and raised in Newton, Iowa. Then got married to a Navy man and moved to San Diego, CA for 8 years. Now we live in Southern Maryland about 2 hours from DC.

i live in fort lauderdale, florida area. it is very hot and humid now, and adjusting to this weather again (every year) is a pain on my asthma. i was increased on my advair to 500/50, put back on singulair and again taking allergy medicine. i was off of singulair and allergy medicine until my recent asthma attacks and i was on 250/50 advair. i will go back on the 250 as soon as i finish off the 500.

Most of the time its great. At the moment we are in the middle of a drought, but just now it won't stop raining (they're hoping our dams will reach 40% capacity). As we need the water, I can't complain. It's very unusual to get this much rain now as we normally get it in the summer. We had some flooding on Monday (not the house, just some of the roads - made for scary driving)

sometimes I live in the state of confusion...but reside in the state of Wisconsin, somehow no matter what state I live in I typically seem to gravitate to tourist areas, without even trying. I've been in Alaska, California, Texas, Illinios, Virginia, South Carolina, Gaum. Did I mention I was a Navy brat then I served in the Air Force...explains alot

My husband and I just renewed our season passes to Disneyland. The ticket prices to get in and park for one day are a bit outrageous. A great place to get in some walking too

Mostly dry, but it if gets hot enough which it can.. the humidity level usually rises some.

Sounds like you enjoy the best of both worlds, with the ocean and the mts! How's the humidity in your neck of the woods? Is it humid, like FL, or dryer heat, like AZ?

I'm a Southern California girl born and raised. I've visited other states. My husband is from Illinois, but I'll always be partial to my CA. I love the beach and I love the mountains and here I can have both. Currently, I live in Fullerton which is about 15 minutes from Disneyland. And although we're called Sunny California, it is not sunny today and may even rain.
