I agree that you should ask your doctor for samples. My doctor's office has drug company reps who literally drop off boatloads of free samples and coupons. The sample Pulmicort is a full 1-3 month supply, the Nasonex lasts 2 weeks, etc, the Singular one week, etc.

Also, see if some of your drugs are not on those Walmart or similar $4 (or cheaply priced) drug lists.

Wow that is great. I too take allergy injections and think their wonderful. My son also takes them with me. Luckily for me I do not have to have referrals on my insurance and was able just to make the appointment. I is well worth it. Congrats on coming such a long way.

I am a respiratory therapist with chronic asthma. I was in the place you are now about 4 years ago. I prayed about it and after tearfully asking for a referral for an allergist an not getting one, I called around and asked about any studies for asthma. The very first allergist had studies of the newest drugs on the market. Not ony do they give you free medical care, they give free meds, free check-ups and get you on what works best for you. I am now on an injection every two weeks and rarely have to take an emergency med. I was on 12 asthma meds, I am now on 3 and one is taken rarely!

Yes, contact your doctor for free samples. That is very important!

And you might check out the Alternate Day Diet. It healed me of bad asthma in one month...I started because I saw a study in which it healed other asthma patients.

I saw improvements in two weeks, and was asthma free in one month.

I still need to lose weight so I am staying on the diet. I can also tell the tendency toward asthma is still there, and this diet keeps it under wraps. It may take longer for the body to be completely free even of the tendency toward asthma.

What I mean is - I can tell that the asthma would start to come back if I did not control it with this diet...for now anyway.

Totally worth it to be off drugs!

Hope this helps - Best of luck to everyone!

Mary

Mary

PS To my old SP friends - It's been a very rough journey... My beloved, healthy, athletic, tall, dark and handsome husband died in August 2012 from a very aggressive cancer... In the many months caring for him I was stressed and didn't "care" anymore, and put back on 30 pounds I had just finished losing... And then I gained even more...

A short, but very sweet, video tribute to this beautiful man:

I would also contact your doctor for samples. They always get tons from the drug reps and that is how I get mine. I have not had to pay for one of my inhalers yet. Also you might call the drug companies too and they could tell you how to possibly get them free of charge. I used to do that for my grandma to help her out. Good luck!!

your doctor can also help you get medicine directly from the drug companies, there are programs to help with that. The doc has to fill out the forms, it is worth checking out.

I am sorry you are in the place. It must feel very scary. You are in my prayers.

If it is to be, it is up to me!

I am so sorry to hear that you are in a bad situation. Contact your doctor and let him/her know that you can afford your meds and they may can give you some samples. We went through that with my husband and his doctor gave him samples until we could afford to get his meds.
