I like all the suggestions, esp. the nutrition and housework ones.

Both of these sound real good ladies and Sue I really like the housecleaning idea. That is tough on me anyway and man do I sweat when I clean.

Cheryl, This was taken from a former team I tried to copy the icons but couldn't. If you want to take a look at the challange. It is under Gwennverers Positive and Motivatonal Challange team. I picked this because this is an asthma team some may not feel like exercising. It is hard to exercise when you can not breath. This picks up Snipie's challenge, but starting from scratch.
Please log here daily:

** Positive thought (can be a quote, but also can be
_ anything that keeps you going, anything that makes you
_ feel good about yourself ...)

** Nutrition: cals, pie chart, fruit, veggies, fiber

** Water (minimum 8 glasses; optimum weight/2 in fl.oz. --
_ 200 lbs = 100 fl.oz = 12_1/2 glasses)

** Exercise: time strength / cardio - steps

For every posting (within range) you receive a point.

Once a week I will post:

Inspiration - Calories - Fruit - Veggies - Water - Exercise -
... .... .... .... .... ....
You could eliminate the exercising part or cut down on the exercising part--for those of us who can exercise it would remain????? Just a suggestion.

I'm not a big fan of exercise but try to be intentional about increasing my daily activities. Outdoor activities are a challenge for my asthma. How about something we all need to do indoors?
My challenge is to spend 15 minutes a day doing some form of housework, whether it's picking up, washing the dishes, vacuuming or doing some washing. A daily commitment is important.

Why 15 minutes? Because it’s enough time to actually make a difference, yet short enough that it doesn’t seem difficult. You could divide it up during the day if you're busy. Think of all the couch time you spend and 15 minutes of focused energy isn't much of a commitment.
We could post daily or weekly totals and accomplishments. How long has it been since you cleaned out your junk drawer? Snow, rain or heat can't stop this exercise!

Yeah, strength training is one of my less-than-stellar areas and maybe a strength challenge would help me there. My personal challenge for next month (after finals anyway) is to try 2 new kind of exercise at least twice. I know theres a billion different ways to get my cardio in, but I pretty much only walk and swim. I need to start working in other stuff, too, so that when the pool gets closed for maintenance and the weather doesn't cooperate I don't have an excuse.

I would like to see strength exercise as a goal. It seems like everybody does cardio but not strenght.

We now have a new forum for monthly team goals. I would like to have you input on what you would like to see posted here. Examples would be a certain amount of minutes for cardio for the month or eating our veggies and fruits. Please let me know what you think.
