After doing workouts for the last week that were all around 30 minutes long, when it came to combat 60 on my schedule, i must say that i was a little curious to see if i could have the attention span last a little longer. This isn't my first go around with the combat program, but i had forgotten how much fun combat 60 is, especially the last half.

That being said, i drank a protein shake right before starting the workout which was a good and bad thing. I was feeling hungry but didn't want to eat and then wait so i figured i would just do the protein shake. It worked... except that around the 45 min mark when we were doing the elbow series, which is my favorite part of the workout, i got a little too intense and almost vomited, so i paused to kind of let things relax and chill. However, in doing that i started up a conversation with my fiancÚ that unintentionally went on for a half an hour... so i was done with the workout with 17 mins to go... but whatever.. I'll do better next week when i do this workout again.

Week 7, Day 5 - last night I so didn't really want to workout but I kept my thoughts positive and I just pushed play and did it. I did 30 min of Extreme Warrior. Felt great, then needed to get some sleep. Tonight is my arms workout.

Momof4 - I know it's disappointing to not see movement on the scale or measuring tape. Personally i cant measure worth a darn! I never remember exactly where I put the tape when I took the original measurements. I had to put my scale away becuase in the last 3 weeks it has not moved a bit HOWEVER I do feel tighter and my jeans are much looser. Just keep focusing on the other positives like improved numbers (cholesteral, blood pressure, glucose, etc), exercise helps you look younger!, exercise will increase your energy, etc...whatever you do...do not give up!

Day 30 done. Combat 30 Live. I switched a couple of them around. I also did the Lower Body Lean for 30 minutes. I took measurements and haven't lost weight or inches yet. Is that normal? Kind of disappointed in that, but I do enjoy the Combat workouts.

I painted all weekend - 9 hours on Saturday and 5 on Sunday - so I burned a lot of calories. Tonight I'll be doing Armed & Dangerous, Ab Jam and continuing with the February squat challenge. I think today it's 110 squats...I add dumbells because I'm a glutten for punishment. IN A GOOD WAY! I put the scale away because it's not cooperating with me. I'll go with how my clothes are fitting for the next couple weeks. emoticon

Week 5 Day 3: my back is sore and in spasams from the deadlifts I did during Monday's workout. Clearly, I was not doing them correctly. Last night I did a Turbo Fire 25 HIIT. Still finding it fun and my back felt better afterwards so I guess exercise helps it. Tonights workout plan is Combat 45! BRING IT!!

Week 5; Day 2 discovered one of the Chalean Extreme's on a Turbo Fire DVD so I completed that which turned out to be 40min of strength training; that's a good thing, one day of ST down for the week!

@MOMOF4FOXES: I, too, did that 60min of Combat (not the Live one) this past Saturday and loved it as well! It's a fun workout and I am still enjoying Les Mills Combat!

I did Combat 60 today for the first time. Loved it!! Sometimes after the Combat 30, I am still ready for more of a workout. Yesterday I did Combat 30 and Core Attack. Still loving that Combat. Day 15 today.

Week 4, Day 4 did Turbo Fire Low25 HIIT - basically the low impact version of Turbo Fire. Energy level was pretty low last night, probably because I worked out right after dealing with my 13yr old's issues in school, so I had a hard time going at it hard. Wednesday seems to be my day of low energy as far as workouts go. Tonight I'm going to do Combat 30 and I expect to have my energy back! Saturday is weigh day. Last Saturday saw no change to the scale so I'm crossing fingers this week's is better. Still...won't allow myself to get discouraged! I have 4 weeks down!

There was no change on the scale on weigh-day which was Saturday but I'm not discouraged! Staying with the fight!

DAy 62 done! I didn't use Result and recovery this time and i didn't really need it. I think i ate enough calories (and probably not good calories) today to make it through the workout without needing the extra boost from R&R. I am pretty tired from the workout though.

This video is from the focus T25 workout, but if you skip to ~1:37 you will see how they do a burpee modification there. I like the way Tanya does the modification. If that isn't intense enough for you, i think you could always add a squat between each lunge.

Today is day 52 for me. I am doing pump and shred. I think this may be the last time i do this workout for this round of pump. I better savor it! lol. Those 55 minute pump workouts are tough!

I ended up doing the 60 minute live workout instead last night. I just love that one! But 2 days ago I did the Power HIIT and even doing modified burpees my knees dont feel so great right now. Since i need my knees for the rest of my life I'm going to figure out an alternative that's as challenging (if possible) that wont stress my knees so much. Squats? I dont seem to have a problem with my knees doing those. Any other suggestions are welcome!

I also find working out very relaxing. I have never been a get up early and workout person, even though sometimes that is the only time my schedule allows, so i do it occasionally.

Tonight i did the 45 minute combat workout from the Les Mills pump set, it is very similar to combat 45. I like it. I was able to maintain high intensity as far as my heart rate was concerned throughout the entire workout. This is the second time that i've done this particular workout and I felt like I was doing better this time.

I've been done for about an hour and I think its time to go to bed, it totally wore me out. I should sleep well tonight!

Today my plan is 45 minute Power Kata. I absolutely love Les Mills Combat!! I mix it up with other kickboxing like Turbo Jam and Billy Blanks Boot Camp. I work out in the evenings, usually right after work. It's a nice way to relax and unwind after a day at work...yes, the workout is relaxing to me!

Today i completed the 55 minute pump extreme workout. "Holy crap!" is all i really have to say. I drank my protein shake before the workout because i was hungry when I woke up, but didn't really want to workout on a full stomach, but i ran out of gas a little over half way through the workout and had to pause for about 5 minutes to recover and get my mind back into the workout. It was a struggle for me to finish the workout. I did enjoy it though. emoticon

So, I took the last 3 days off. The first day was a scheduled rest day, and then Friday my back was hurting so i didn't want to stress it further. Then yesterday, I wasn't feeling very well with coughing and uncontrollable bouts of sleepiness. I slept most of the day. I am feeling better today so i guess it helped. I picked up where i left off with day 45. It is the first time I have completed the 55 minute pump revolution. It was pretty awesome and well rounded. It left me in a drained puddle of mush.

Day 45 was supposed to be the first time i did pump revolution, however, my back was hurting so i decided to give it a rest before i did 55 minutes of back work. day 46 will be a double workout day i guess.

Did the scheduled Flow workout tonight. It was great. I needed it. It could have been longer but i'll take the 20 minutes and run with it. It is better than nothing. This is only my second time doing this workout, i generally just do other cardio or take a rest day.

Today was a very lazy day for me along with a not very good nutrition day. My back muscles were very sore this morning. I stayed within my calories that i am supposed to but they weren't quality calories. I had Christmas bread and fudge, with a snickers blizzard...and then there was some healthy stuff but most of my calories came from junk. But i'm not going to let it get me down. I don't have these days very often.

Day 38. I was feeling sore all day and thought about switching today's workout, pump and shred, with tomorrows workout, flow, but went ahead and completed pump and shred just using 5lb weights on the bar. I was still able to get a good burn without taxing my body too much more. I really need the yoga. I was also able to concentrate more on form. I like rotating heavy and light weight days.

Yesterday, I completed the combat workout that comes with the LMP upgraded kit. It was fun. I have the combat series and it is very similar to the 45 minute combat workout that comes with the combat series. This week I also completed the other 2 cardio dvds. I like all of them, and they are all pretty intense. I need to work on my cardio. It is definitely not where I would like it to be, but i'll get there.

As far as nutrition goes. I've been on target for the last 3 days. I looked at the nutrition guide and for phase 2 it states that i should be eating ten times my weight in calories and then adding an additional 200 calories. Today I actually hit the 200 additional calories. The last 2 days, I was just right at ten times my weight in calories. I feel like i am building momentum with that!

Day 35! Last day of phase 1! This is exciting for me. Before when i've started this workout i've always got stuck in the 3rd week or somewhere around there. I am glad that i am pushing through my workouts and doing them even when i don't want to. I would say that the first 21 days was the hardest to develop that routine and after that its been pretty easy. It was always just decided after that as part of my routine.

I generally don't try most of the foods in the nutrition guide but instead like to try and stay within certain macronutrient ranges. However, today i tried the protein pancakes and was pleasantly surprised that i enjoyed them. I used vanilla creme primal fuel mix for the protein powder. I think i will add a little cinnamon to them next time, but will definitely have them again. I know that I need to focus on my nutrition if i want to get results.

I did sports attack instead of the walk/abs today. This was my first time doing this workout and i enjoyed it very much. I had to modify some because i was breathing so heavily but I made it through it! I did have to stop midway through though. Pay attention to the shoes you wear! I was wearing my vibrams, which are usually fine, but they were hurting one of my toes so i took them off and went bare foot for a little while on carpet. Then that started to hurt so i paused the workout and went and put on my crossfit shoes which are spectacular. Love them

Headed to PHASE 2!! emoticon

Day 34 was pump and shred. It wasn't the best workout for me today. I didn't feel like i could go as hard as i would have liked to probably due totally to my nutrition today. I didn't eat at all until about 1:30 and then only had about 400 calories. Around dinner time i ate around 5-700 calories then worked out. Going forward in this week, I will focus more on getting in more quality nutrition.
Still like the pump and shred, but the lunges are killer, but i love a challenge!

Day 31 was pump and burn again. I pushed myself with this workout, not so much with how much weight could i lift, but wanted to concentrate on finishing each track without having to take a break. I used 7.5lbs on each side of the bar for the chest track this time and was able to push to the end. I am trying to increase my weight for that track especially but tend to have a hard time making it through the entire track.

I ended up missing yesterdays workout because i was studying for my last final of the semester but plan on making it up tomorrow after my flow workout. Tomorrow I am also planning on my "over the break cooking session" where i will prepare and freeze meals so that i can grab, heat, and eat only healthy.

Sorry you slipped on ice, I am glad you were able to do the workout anyways.

I did hardcore abs today and 1 mile from walk away the pounds. I only did one mile because I have to walk to and from the bus stop today which is 25 minutes each way, I forgot I had to do that when I started the walk away the pounds dvd.

Day 29: Ok, so i finally got my workout done for the day. I had thought about skipping it because i hurt my hip this morning when i slipped on the ice. It was not fun, but i decided to not let it interfere with my workout. After all, it only hurts when you touch where i landed.

Today was the first day i did pump and shred and the extra 15 minutes really pushed me. This workout added back in a lunge track, which is my weak spot, but i pushed through them to the best of my ability. This is another fun workout. I really like that they added some bicep work into the mix.

As far as pumping up the music option, I haven't done that yet for any of them. I like to hear the instructor because it means that i don't constantly have to look at the TV and i can focus more on form instead of trying to figure out what they are doing.

I did pump challenge today, I liked it better with the music not as loud. I did a 10 minute warm up and 20 minutes of cardio with it. I still have more cardio to do, but I will do it later.

I didn't order the upgrade package, I ordered slim in 6 instead. The website said it was low impact. That didn't come yet though so I did Leslie Sansone for my cardio today.
I hope you like the cardio dvds you got with the package.

The legs are always my weak spot too. Just stick with it and you'll make improvements. I always have to remind myself that if i could do it perfectly from the get go, then there wouldn't be any reason i needed to do it. Let the challenge motivate you. Also, with the pump challenge, you will see the guys in the back just grab the weight without the bar. I found that to be very helpful during the lunge track, since i'm not very steady lunging with the bar.

I haven't done flow yet today, but am getting ready to. I think i will push doing one of the cardio dvds until a cardio day. I did watch 2 of the 3 and they looked pretty awesome, but also pretty intense.

I liked it, but I am going to choose no to the music option next time because I couldn't hear what the instructors were saying over the music during the exercises. The lunges were the most difficult part for me I had to stop and start again during the lunges because I have really weak legs.
I tried to do flow, but I never do yoga and I was getting confused. I didn't even make it through the warm up.

Awesome! What did you think of your first at home pump workout?

Today is day 27 and I just got in the upgrade to the pump set, so i am excited to try those workouts. My scheduled workout for today is flow, which i NEED to do, but i really want to try the step workout. I have been trying to increase my weights on the bar and make it through each track. It depends on the day and the track as to whether or not i am successful at making it through the entire track with the increased weights, but there is improvement and i'll take it. There is also the need for some stretching. My chest is really tight and i think my back could use a massage.

Started week 4 today, kind of... Yesterday was a cardio/abs day but i was cramming for a test that i had today so i decided to skip it since tomorrow is a scheduled rest day and i have most of the day off where i can fit in a 45 min workout. Decided to try and lift the intermediate suggested weight for each track of my workout today. That went fairly well. I am hoping I will feel it tomorrow. I have been feeling like i wasn't pushing myself hard enough with my weight selection, so i decided to go up in weight a little. Just from 7.5s on each side of the bar for most tracks to 10s. Plus, I was really cold before the work, and, honestly, what better way to warm up than a workout?

Just finished day 12. I'm trying to use more weights than i did last week. I like the pump and burn workout. I ordered the deluxe kit upgrade since i just got the basic kit originally. I so far have received the step and the 2 weights. Still looking for the 3 workouts. I hope they will show up tomorrow. I am a little worried that they forgot to ship the workouts, since the tracking information says that it has been delivered, but i guess i'll wait a couple more days before calling beachbody.

Today is day 2 of this round, which means it was a rest day. I didn't plan it out this way, but was thankful that today was a rest day just because i had a conference ALL day. It is amazing just how exhausting it is to sit ALL day long.

I am starting this round now (or well, yesterday) even though I know that I will be ordering the upgrade to the deluxe kit soon and will then be doing that schedule. I love the burn of this workout and have been curious about the deluxe kit for more than a year now, so I will be ordering it soon. Keep up the good work people!

I did Combat 60 live. I think i get more into the regular workout than i do with this live workout. However, as far as the 30 live, i like that one better than the regular combat 30. Today started week 6 even though it should bet week 8, but I ended up taking a 2 week break (minus 2 cross fit sessions) at the end of week 5.

Les Mills Combat 45 Power Kata. Flying knee jumps!!!

TAREN584 Lower Body Lean Out is challenging, but it's one of my favorites, because I really like the exercise and music combos. The thing that makes this one harder is all the jumping.

After completing week 5, I took a week off from combat and did cross fit workouts instead. Now I am trying to figure out how to mix them doing combat 3 times a week and then cross-fit 2-3 times a week. What i am thinking is that i will do the "combat" workouts and then replace the HIIT workouts with cross-fit. If i have the energy to do a 3rd cross-fit workout per week, I'll do it, but those really kick by butt.

I finished week 4 today with HIIT Power. Tomorrow is a rest day. I am looking forward to next week because it doesn't have either of the HIIT workouts. Do those intimidate anybody else. I think I'm getting better at them, but I still have to push myself to do them every time. I might need to go up in weight for the clean and press stuff as well. I can do that though. emoticon

Today on their facebook page, the Les mills pump people posted a meme that stated "I'm guilty, I just killed my workout". That is totally how i feel today.
I started week 2 of the basic combat workout with combat 30. I decided to do combat 30 live with weighted gloves. It was awesome! I took 1 scoop of the E&E beforehand so that may have helped with my focus. In the 33 minutes, I was at a 399 calorie burn with a relatively high HR when i turned my HR monitor off. Fun times. I think i need an ice bath now.

I still didn't have as much energy throughout the workout that I would have liked but Its done and and can get a good nights sleep to come back fighting tomorrow.
