PLATINUM755 I am going to write "I WANT YOU BUT I DON'T NEED YOU" in bright markers and post it on my refrigerator with pictures of food so people don't get the wrong message.
Thank you for sharing

A new statement added to my approach to taming my sweet tooth comes from watching Key and Peele... "I want you but I don't need you (Momus song). Okay, the song lyrics are a little strange along with most of the videos I've seem (lol) but the words hit the spot! emoticon

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Now that I have officially tamed the sweet tooth demon I am facing my "final exam". emoticon
I am visiting my grandson. He always asks (politely) for my apple pie. I am making it for him following a highly recommended 'healthier' version and we'll see if he notices anything different.

The big news is that I will not be able to tell any difference myself since I will not be having any!!
emoticon

I'll report back tomorrow..........

Joyfully keeping on...keeping on!

I am just starting week 2 and I have been chocolate free since Thursday, May 1st, so yea, I guess I started off May deciding not to have chocolate. I have been okay until a little while ago. I ended up sucking on a nips butter rum caramel candy, it was not chocolate, but the sweet craving would not go away. I also drank 16 oz of water. so I may float away tonight, but I would rather float away than feel a sugar high/low. I do not have chocolate in my house, so I think that is a big step for me as well.

well I am also working on getting more sleep, so I need to go upstairs and get in bed, read a book and wonder off to dreamland no later than 10:15, since 10 is probably out of the question now.

see you all tomorrow

carla

Hi! I'm Jan and new to the team. Just completed week 1 steps and realizing my sugar addiction is worse than I thought. Definitely ready to take steps to get rid of it.

emoticon As for the Kit Kat some mornings I do need to stop for something for lunch like a Turkey Sandwich or an Egg Salad Sandwich so will just run in and grab the sandwich then pay and not go down the candy aisle.

emoticon MACZ-FITGURL! Try doing your routine a different way. If you put your dog's leash on first and then you get a peppermint.....Get yourself ready, then put the leash on and head straight out the door! Just a little change might help to break the "peppermint" habit. As for the Kit-Kat......all I can say is try leaving with just enough time to get to work and not enough time to stop? Or once again, change your route.....go around the block from the store you normally stop at!

Like everyone will agree, it's baby emoticon steps that works! Just a small change in your routine may help to "kick" that change button into the on position.
Hope this help! I'm rooting for ya! emoticon

Just joined a few minutes ago and find that every time I take my dog outside I get a peppermint and seems that I have to stop and get a Kit Kat bar every day but Monday's before work.

I have found that when the "snack monster" approaches my room, oh around 9-10 PM if I'm still awake, if I snack on a baked cracker instead of a "sugary" goodie.........my blood sugar in the morning is WAY below where it normally is when I eat those other things! Yeah Me! I think I have made a mental breakthrough! emoticon
