You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
I have been writing a journal since I was a teenager and it is very detailed including what I eat and exercise, etc. Before 1991 I was a runner 10 miles a day and I could enjoy sweets and not gain weight. After 1991 I was not able to run due to an accedent. I do not have a particular trigger, my problem is portion control and this week I have been able to control my portions. I am not saying that I no longer have the problem, but now I have put tools in place to help me control portions and in some cases just turn down sweets.
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” ¯ Henry David Thoreau, Waldenlath
