This afternoon after a regular meeting with friends, we all went out for a bite to eat/coffee as is our custom. I planned for it and I had a DQ Strawberry Banana smoothie. Was OK, not really satisfying. The small has 250 calories and 42 gr. of sugar. A definite ***NO*** for me.
I have gone over my calorie limit by 21 cal so is not too bad. However, I will not be having anything but water next Sunday.
Hope you all are doing well today, and learning each day what is the best course for you.

Spit the seeds out “Don’t let the seeds keep you from enjoying the watermelon”(Lillie in the movie Made for Each Other) Friends, we are on a journey to have a better quality of life by eating healthier and exercising. There will be days that we will want to eat over our calorie limit. There will be days that we will not want to exercise. These are seeds that we have to spit out. So today, spit out the seeds and do what you need to do to have a better life. Spit the seeds out. ‘The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart’ (Lk 6:45 NIV).

I tried this yesterday when it was lunchtime and I wanted something sweet.
I cooked half a cup of plain quick oats with water. Then I added a tablespoon of peanut butter, a tablespoon of chocolate chips, and a teaspoon of organic cane sugar. Then I added a little more water to make the oatmeal less thick. I stirred it all up and it made a really good, filling treat without the huge sugar load!!
This might sound weird to some, or like it's already too sugary. I don't know, it worked for me!
CECILANN and to SparkPeople and the team challenge...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.
@CECILANN I love peppermint tea, and the rooibos teas...both help a lot!
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
I try when I get the craving to do just a scoop or 2 of slow churned vanilla ice cream (maybe a little sugar free caramel) or a square or two of dark chocolate 70% or higher or some semi sweet baker chocolate.
Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our self-fulfilling phophecy. - Brian Tracy
Im new to this challenge and only my third day in on spark people. I must tell you that I crave something sweet eachand everyday. Typically after a meal but at least once everyday. Sweets are my biggest down fall.
