Hi, I have been following the calorie part of the diet. Too hard to follow the pre chosen meals. I am not a fan of most of the foods and I have so many allergies.
Anyway, my biggest change has been adding fruit with each meal. I am on my second week and so far, I rarely crave sweets and if I do, I am satisfied with a cookie or a bite of something. For me, that is coming far.
I read an article that said to take magnesium in the evenings. I take it at dinner. If I forget, I can tell Mornings are when I crave sweets the most. I also drink a protein shake in the morning. They seem to help the sweet tooth part.
I have never tried chromium.

I found that chromium supplements helps me the best to control my sweet tooth... but I have to double the recommended dose... if I use only one, it does not help me. If I take it, I can be happy with one choco mini cookie - less than 7 grams... if I do not take it, I may eat all the pack of these cookies - 24 - and still feel cravings...

Why do we get cravings? I have read that it's because our bodies are lacking something, often nothing more than water. Therefore, according to this theory, the only way to get rid of cravings is to eat foods from all six of the ingredients needed to keep our bodies running right: protein, fat, minerals, carbs and water. Of course we need to choose wisely, avoid junk food and processed sugar,etc. but, according to theory, as long as we are providing these nutrients in the amounts our bodies need, we won't develop food cravings.

I may have cured my craving for eating sweets during the night and having a morning iced coffee. I was very nauseous yesterday and I really think it was due to a sugar overddose.

I checked out Skaeology. It sounds very interesting. Only thing, I would like to know if it is safe for someone who has breast cancer?

I carry a portable toothbrush and small toothpaste and mouth wash with me in my purse in a plastic bag and when I am tempted I either mouthwash or go find a restroom to brush my teeth because sweets do not taste well when you have brushed you teeth with toothpaste and mouthwashed.
When I'm tempted by all the baked goods in the supermarkets or grocery stores, I remind myself that they are all loaded with trans fats (partially hydrogenated oils) which are VERY bad for my heart - so it makes it easy to pass them up.

I craved a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with diet cola this morning and gave into it and glad I did.....I need to splurge occasionally or I go overboard.

for sharing what works best for you. I use the green juice and that worked the best for me. If anyone wants the recipe for green juice simply goggle it and there are several places to go. Be aware it will be very different from what you are used to drinking and it may increase your trips to the bathroom but it flushing toxins out of your body which is a good thing

I don't know so much about sugar addiction - I truly believe that cravings are your body telling you you're not getting something. I find I have little to no cravings at the moment - I'm eating a plant based lower carb (almost zero grain) vegetable heavy meal plan.
I think organization skills are going to be the kicker for all of us in this challenge. No more grabbing something on the go! I don't really agree with sugar substitutes either... they just trick your body into thinking it's getting sugar and you're back at square one.
Us sugar fiends need to channel our sweet tooth's into more constructive behaviors... when cravings hit maybe have a glass of water and see how you go... or chew on a fresh raw piece of fruit - carrots are delightfully sweet and for the small calorie count they're packed full of essential nutrients! Making sugar not available might be the only way for some of us to go until we can be trusted around it again ;)

I have always struggled with this for years. I could always talk myself into letting me give into my cravings until recently. I went on a canoe trip with my son's boy scout troop and there were several pictures taken. I was captured in a few. There was a picture of me eating a not so healthy meal, and this was the first time I've seen me with a double chin. There was another one that caught my backside. I have never seen my backside especially in pictures. I was so hurt by what I had done to myself. No more! Everytime I want that piece of candy or cookie or what ever it is I'm craving. I have the picture of myself to cure my cravings.

When I started SP I cleaned out all foods that tempted me. I buy no boxed foods, eat no sugar and eliminated all white foods. Went thru a few weeks of not feeling well and then started feeling better than I ever have. I actually had to detox from all the junk. I consider this as one of the best things I have ever done for myself and health. I feel fantastic.

The only thing that I am completely turned off with as far as sweets go is donuts, I have not eaten one in years, one time years ago, I heard on the radio someone describing donuts, as empty fatty calories with absolutely no nutritional value, well anyway, something stuck in my mind a picture of something way less appetising looking than a donut, and I just can not eat one. Isnt that great? I borrowed a book called Food Addiction I have just started it, but my friend said it helped her realize what caused her cravings for sweets. and she said she reads a few paragraphs every once in a while, when she feels like she needs it. I will let you know if it helps.

I am struggling also and I think that is my main problem, that and that I don't keep dieting issues in my head all the time and forget what to do and just grab anything ...Got any tricks as to keeping diet issue's on your mind...

So it has been over two mths since I have really had a full out sugar craving. In August I joined a Beachbody Challenge group, I started drinking Shakeology and started working out to Turbofire. Before the shakeology I was eating something sweet at least once a day. I craved it all day, especially cakes and cookies. Within a few weeks my cravings have went away and the taste of sugar was actually too much for me. Pop didnt taste good anymore and eating a cupcake was just too much. Before shakeology nothing really worked, nothing kept me on track.
If anyone would be interested in trying it out let me know. I am now a certified beachbody coach and would be happy to help out anyone that is having this same problem :)
