I like this challenge though it is taking me a little more than 4 weeks to complete. I actually need to reset back to late week 1 / early week 2. I appreciate this article being reposted especially since I grew up on alternatives and diet sodas and had candy in the household due to my mother being a diabetic. So, it looks like I need to go back and redo the reading of labels a little more closely challenge.

I am wondering if the team leaders and anyone else out there would be able to help point me to more info regarding the use of replacing sugar (and it's many faces) with artificial sweetners such as Splenda, etc. If we are to be avoiding added sugars in our packaged foods (like all of the "-troses"), I'm so confused. I just read the ingredients label on the box of Splenda and it contains dextrose, maltodextrin and sucralose. Sounds like sugar-based products to me. Aren't these the things that increase our cravings?

Also, even though Stevia is from a plant, wouldn't the sweetness still trigger even more urges for sweetness? Maybe we're back to the "use in moderation" thing?!? Please help! I'm only on day two. ~ Tobi
