Hello everyone, just joined this group today. I'm encouraged and excited but scared of cheating O.O

However, I heard a great saying that is going to help me curb my sweet tooth: "You will never feel as good eating that as it feels to be thin."

God Bless your journey of healthy living.

I just recently read a long thread about eating late at night and gleaned the following list as the most helpful for me. I'm going to incorporate a no eating after 6:15pm policy beginning tomorrow in conjunction with this challenge. I hope some of these will be found helpful for any of us who eat at night.

~ Eat at the table or desk!!!! Eating while on the sofa is making me think that I should eat when Im on the sofa!!!

~ Water water water ~ I imagine we are all aware of this, but it is a good reminder; our bodies do not know the difference between water and food

~ IT IS ONLY FOOD!!
*******Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought, Oh, I wish I had eaten more last night. No? Me neither! But I have thought, many times, Why did I eat so much last night?*******Food is not going to go away ~ it will be there tomorrow to have

~ Check to see what I am thinking about when I start to crave food

~ Craving goes away in 10mins

~ Brush teeth after EVERY MEAL

~ 21 day habit

~ Replace craving with something else, like a stretch or two

~ "Why do I really want to stuff my mouth full of that ____ (food item) and/or eat an entire bag of popcorn, pnut butter cups, etc. ... very late at night?" Is it really because I'm bored, lonely, angry, frustrated... about what and why!? What else can I do to address those feelings!?

~ "am i hungry enough that a yogurt sounds good" NOT "am i hungry enough that a cookie sounds good"- cookies are SO much more tempting than a yogurt.) If i'm not hungry enough for the yogurt, I usually realize that i'm actually not all that hungry at all, and i find something else to do to take my mind off the cookie.

*****Again, I hope some of this will feel helpful! We really are all quite lovely for choosing to take action ~ what a beautiful gift which we are all so deserving of!

Yahoo, I am so happy that my reward system might work for some of U. This is my second day and so far I am OK... Night is when its the hardest for me, so tonight I am going to try warm tea when I start craving that food. Thank U for the support oh and I got the tea idea from here. I really see this sight as a good place for support.

Ooo Wes, that is a great incentive with the money! I hope you're doing well with it. I need a new purse, so maybe I will choose which one I want and make myself work for it.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

I hit my goal last year, with my teen age children both right by my side. You could say it was a family effort. My youngest 14 has a Kidney problem and her brother 15, well he was just lazy! My son Ryan, is on a roll and has continued to keep his weight off. His sister Ashley has continued to struggle due to her continued steroid use, that she needs to stay alive.

I gained all my weight back after my car accident due to depression. What I do is after my Dr. Appoints I visit See's Candy. I gained all the weight I had lost with my children back in 8 months. I know a little bit more about comfort food! I joined this sight yesterday and promised not only myself but my doctors who know me. I will not eat chocolate for at least 1 year. My goal is to remove sugar from my diet completely once again.

I also know through my own demonstrations that a habit takes 45 days to start or break. I made this suggestion to a few people on this sight. It has worked for me might it work for U as well.

I was spending 5.00 dollars a day on Junk food. Every day that I go without Sugar/Chocolate I get 5.00 dollars. The catch I must go all month to collect that $35.00 dollars per week. What I will be doing for myself this, that $140.00 per month is being saved to buy myself something I REALLY want. This is my reward for keeping this promise to myself. I am getting a Kayak for two! I want to do this with my children on our outing times.

What I get by doing this: better health, I get to wear all those close I bought myself that I can't wear because I eat chocolate! both these things are priceless in my eyes. We could look at it as a job, U need your body to take care of U, you get paid to do this job! best of luck I will keep U all updated on my progress and I hope this tip works for U. God bless Kimberly

My biggest battles are in the evening as well. Not really sure why, but that seems to be when all my willpower goes by the wayside. Anyway, good luck to you!

Hmmmm.....thanks Pam. I've never heard of this but I will definitely try after work today. The sugar demon and I have our fiercest battles after 5:00.

I've been drinking warm lemon-juice water (in a cup like tea) and that seems to take the edge off the sugar jonesing. Give it a try.

Hi! I 'm addicted to sugar and I'm finally ready to end the addiction or at least work on ways of controlling it. I have lost 30 pounds over the last 2.5 years but sugar is still my main nemesis. I hope that joining this challenge will help me beat the sugar beast.

Day by day and sometimes minute by minute
