I suspect whether or not programmable is important will be determined by if you are working or not. If you are home, you can control it manually, if you're working it is important for it to start, or shut off, or change temps automatically.

I am considering the one with the 3 sizes of bowls. Glad to have your input!! there are just two of us,too so I am having a hard time deciding what size to buy. This one seems a good answer but is not programmable. Not sure whether that is important.

About 6 months ago I had to replace mine too. I bought a Hamilton Beach that has 3 bowls with it (2, 4, & 6 qt.) and I love it! The bowls telescope in each other to save space & you take the one you need to use & put the others aside for another time. I paid a little more for this, but I think it is worth it. It is just DH & myself & I use the 2 qt. a lot, but some bigger recipes will take the larger ones.

Good luck with your search!emoticon Let us know what you decide to buy.
