These recipies sound delishous. I will have to try them. I make linguisa and peppers in the crock pot. I first slice the peppers and boil the and I slice and fry the linquisa and then I put it in the crockpot and add tomato sauce and cook on high for 3 hours and it is tender and delish!!

@PST - saw your question about prime rib and saw this recipe for Slow Cooked Mushroom Beef Roast from AllRecipes.com- I haven't tried it though. I'm afraid to spend so much on Prime Rib and then experiment with it in the slow cooker. I like mine done in the oven until Medium rare. We have it every New Years Eve.
1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
1 (4 pound) standing beef rib roast
1 (1.25 ounce) envelope onion soup mix
1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle beer
ground black pepper
1. Place the mushrooms in the bottom of a slow cooker; set the roast atop the mushrooms; sprinkle the onion soup mix over the beef and pour the beer over everything; season with black pepper. Set slow cooker to LOW; cook 9 to 10 hours until the meat is easily pulled apart with a fork.

Hot Mulled Wine
4 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
4 whole cloves
2 bottles (750 milliliters each) merlot
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brandy
1 medium orange, thinly sliced
Place cinnamon sticks and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag.
In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the wine, sugar, orange juice, brandy and orange slices. Add spice bag. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour or until heated through. Discard spice bag and orange slices. Serve warm. Yield: 9 servings.
Nutrition Facts: 1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 143 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 4 mg sodium, 15 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, trace protein.

I wonder if prime roast would work in the crock pot? And does a roaster count as a crock pot? These questions and many more shall be answered on Crock Pot Cooking & Reciptes :p
