emoticon Hello Sparky's

Ok ... I have a problem and I need some opinions and advice. In recognition of my first year anniversary of quitting smoking my daughter bought me a set a resistance cords (which I love) and a NB Monitor and Pedometer. It is a watch but it's main purpose is to keep track of my heart rate (resting and during exercise); how many steps, miles, and calories I burn. This was no cheap gift .... it cost her $70. My issue with it is that the setup directions are very difficult to follow and once I finally had it all set up I realized that it only tracks calories when you set it to a certain amount of time; say for an hour. I need something that's going to keep track of my steps and calories burned without setting limits. I want to set it to zero in the morning and find out my total miles and caloric burn at the end of the day no matter what I was doing. Do they make a watch/apparatus that does that? Please help. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to go to the expense of the FitBit or BodyBug .... but this monitor certainly doesn't cut the mustard for what I need it for. Thank you in advance for any advice that you can give me

Big emoticon from Linda B.
