I'm sorry to hear about your crock pot. I have several KitchenAid small appliances, bought before I found about about them being made in China and several were gifts, anyway I would do some serious research before replacing with new.

I feel your pain! I'd be lost without mine. I have a Rival Crock Pot that's at least 25 years old, and still works like a charm.

I have all kitchen aid in the cuke for the cure pink and have never had any problems. I know so many people with the stand mixers that have had them for years.

So far it looks like the Crock-pot brand seems to be the best...and I will be buying at costco as they have a fantastic return policy.

Losing a crockpot is almost like losing a family member! Sorry to hear about yours. I would research carefully before replacing it!

I have to say I've never had a problem with Kitchenaid, BUT, have read many reviews / heard many problems others have experienced.

So I guess I've just been lucky?

Apparently they are made in China and quality control / assurance is very spotty or insufficient.

So this has made me feel very leery and uncomfortable of purchasing Kitchenaid. It's expensive. I bought a stand mixer for the color; because it was purple; but I don't think I'd buy another Kitchenaid anything, until things change in the quality department.

I have bought several brands of crockpots in the past, and might again if I get them at Goodwill. But if I'm buying new, then I'm buying Rival. I've never had weird problems with Rival. Tho I'm sure someone else reading this thread, may have.

My beautiful Kitchen Aid 7qt slow cooker BROKE. There is a giant crack that goes all the way thru, starting at the middle all the way up the side. I did a bit of searching online and it seems this is a common problem with that model, and of course it's out of warranty. $150 wasted :( Anyone have similar problems? I'm so bummed.
