I found this on another forum, posted by 3FIGLEAVES

I love the crock pot because for the price of one meal you can usually get two. Our favorite recipe is 4 chicken breasts, 2 jar of salsa, 1 bag of frozen corn, 1 can of black beans. We can get at least two dinners for 5 out of this and at least one lunch. Serve with a dollop of fat free sour cream and some 2% cheddar cheese and yummy!

zebramom,
this takes me back to my newlywed days. Give me a day, and I'll come up with something.

I can feel the wind go by when I run. It feels good. It feels fast.

These are the few recipes I have from my stash.

Beef Lite - Fix it and Forget it Lightly

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of celery coup
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Serve over hot rice or noodles.

Believe it or not this comes out very good even though you are not cooking the meat first. My family inhaled it and I never even got to try it!!

Easy Pork Chops - Don't remember where this recipe came from

4 pork chops, whatever your favorite is.
1 can chicken and rice soup

Place pork chops in slow cooker. Pour can of soup over chops - do not add water.
Cook on low 4-6 hours.

Oriental Chicken - Fix it and Forget it Lightly

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 C soy sauce
1/2 C honey
2 T sesame seeds (optional)

Mix together soy sauce, honey and sesame seeds if desired.
Place chicken in slow cooker, spooning 2 T of mixture over each breast. Pour any remaining sauce over top after all chicken is in the cooker.
Cook on low 4-6 hours or until meat juices run clear.

Chicken Tortilla Soup (I also call this "Dump Soup") don't remember where the recipe came from.

2 C diced cooked chicken breast
1 jar salsa
1 box (31 oz) chicken stock
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes - undrained
1 bag (10 oz) frozen corn

Dump all ingredients into your slow cooker and cook on low. The longer you cook it the more the flavors combine. If you want it spicy, use the hot salsa and spiced tomatoes.

Top with tortilla chips, sour cream and cheese if desired.

Super Easy Chicken

4 FROZEN boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 pkg dry Italian dressing mix... (I've used onion soup mix too)
1 C warm water or chicken stock

Place chicken in the slow cooker. Sprinkle with dressing mix (or soup mix). Pour water over chicken.
Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours or until juices run clear.

My 20 year old god daughter is getting married. They don't have 2 pennies to rub together, and are getting married at the courthouse. I thought for a wedding gift I'd give her a crock pot, a grocery card, or groceries, and a bunch of "cheap" recipes.

I'm thinking meals they can make for $5 or less. If you have a recipe that I can include, please post them. The wedding is March 13.

Thanks!
