Sounds good. I've been thinking about making a split pea soup. I might have to try this one.

Here's the recipe I used. And quite fitting that TiggerNPooh asked about a recipe submitted by DisneyFit. LOL! ;-)

I won't know until I use ham whether I think I'll modify the recipe. I usually add a little liquid smoke, but I'm going to wait til the third time I do the recipe to monkey with it.

The soup turned out well. But I won't use cubed turkey breast again. It was too bland tasting and the turkey dried out a little. Next time I'll do ham and DH agrees. It'll just be an indulgence for him.

I did wind up adding about a cup of water before serving. But since it called for 2 cups originally I don't regret not adding it at the beginning. And it was easy to add.

I cooked it for 8 hours and then it switched to "keep warm" for about another 4 hours before we ate it.

Overall it was quite good and I'll do it again in the future... just with real ham.

I'm using the crock pot split pea soup with basil in the recipe. I used cubed turkey instead of ham since DH can't eat ham. I used half the water recommended in the recipe since DH likes it thick. I figured if it's too thick I can add water later.

Hopefully it'll be as tasty as the reviewers said.
