Update on my sister.

Spent time with her doctor and found out that my sister had a very contagious bacterial infection. When her doctor removed her bowel before taking out the cancer, he did not follow up that one blood test was taken. This error resulted in my sister almost passing on because of a very serious bacterial infection had time to spread throughout her body.

Please keep praying for her because she is still very weak and we do not know if she is really out of danger yet. But she eat for the first time in four weeks.

Today is a day that the Lord is going to definitely have the driver's seat! Ooof! I feel like a zombie and don't know why...I thought I slept quite well last night. Hopefully, the coffee will kick in and I'll start to feel alive again soon!

Wishing all a good day!

Oh Lord! What a glorious morning! The sun is shining brightly, the rawness of yesterday's weather is gone, and the temperature is not too cold, 40*! Help me, Lord, be a good and faithful servant for You today in all that I do. I have a number of things that I'd like to accomplish, if it is Your Will, allow me to get them all done. Amen.

Off to Mass in a few! Wishing all a wonderful day!

Dee, how wonderful to have had a Divine Mercy hour today. It would be nice if your church got the statue of St. Pope John 23, too. I'm sure the one of St. Pope John Paul II is very nice.

Julie, I will add that you will be given the gift of patience, as well as the gift of the ability to speak the Truth in your current situation.

We did sing the Chaplet during Holy Eucharist at Mass...it was a short version...the cantor sang the Eternal Father part and we joined in with ...for the sake of His Sorrowful Passion part. We only sang it 5 times and the cantor only got to sing the Eternal Father part twice...there were not very many people at the 9:30...wondering if the dreariness of the morning made many sleep in. Today was also the last day of spring vacation for the grammar through high school kids, so they may still have been away...a lot of our families have places on the Cape and in NH, ME, or VT...so there could have been last minute skiing and/or opening of the cottages going on!
I did manage to get a lot accomplished today, but it was slow motion! Got all my banking, bill paying, and filing caught up, folded all the laundry (about 2 loads) that I did yesterday. I will put it away tomorrow because I want to go through my drawers and get rid of the things I no longer want or can fit in (sadly they are too small). The only other thing that I really had hoped to get done today that I didn't was to get caught up with my computer work for the gas station job. Oh well, that's a tomorrow thing, too.

Dear Father, thank You for all that You have given me. Please continue to bless me with Your Love and Mercy. I also thank You for all my wonderful Sparkfriends. They are a great support system for me and I am forever blessed! Some of my Sparkfriends and I and/or our families are in one form of pain or another...physical, mental, and/or spiritual. You know our needs, please bless us so that we can deal with these trials and make us whole so that we can be good and faithful servants! Amen!

May Our Lord grace you with a wonderful night's sleep!

Hello Everyone, happy Sunday.

Thank you for the post on Divine Mercy. I need that in truck-loads lately as my patience with my MIL's bruised leg is wearing me thin, phsyically, mentally and most of all psychologically. My feelings are so mixed up right now, and I want to "be" good to her but at the same time, can't stand the lies and the expectations that are too much for me. Please pray for my heart to soften and to know MERCY towards her in all curcumstances. I need prayer. God bless and thank you.

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday! Praise and Thank You, Jesus, for Your Divine Mercy! I am hoping that we will be singing the Chaplet during Holy Eucharist today!
Enjoy your day!

Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina:

Tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. ... On [the Feast of Mercy] the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. ... Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. ... The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy (Diary - 699).

Meditation:

May You always be praised for Your greatest attribute: Your mercy. May all souls come to realize and glorify Your mercy, and may I glorify Your mercy all the days of my life, the days of joy and the days of sorrow, and throughout all eternity.
- Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC

Mass was interesting this evening. There was a Baptism, the child looked like he was about nine months old and was very noisy throughout the Mass. He was pretty good while being baptized by Father though. I had the children's choir today. They sang three songs before Mass and then two after communion. This was their year end, so we all went out for dinner together after Mass. Fr. Francis came for dinner as well. I was proud of my granddaughter - this was her first time singing at a Mass with the children's choir. Maybe she will be the one who gets my son coming back to church again. Takes as long as it takes to have my prayers answered!

Glad to hear that DH's health has improved. Praying for complete healing!

I thought today's Excerpt from St. Faustina's Diary was worth sharing...it is so difficult to love our enemies or people that annoy us. May His Divine Mercy help us with this!

Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina:

Be always merciful as I am merciful. Love everyone out of love for Me, even your greatest enemies, so that My mercy may be fully reflected in your heart (Diary - 1695).

Meditation:

To love my enemies can be difficult, Lord. But I0 know that to You all things are possible. Guide me in the paths of mercy, and show me how to be merciful to those whom I recoil from or avoid. Being merciful to another may be something as simple as a smile or a kind word, and yet such simple things can be so difficult to do to one I dislike. I beg You for the grace to love them, because You love them, and I love You.

Good morning! I hope it is as nice out as it looks! Busy day going back and forth to work at the gas station, then work at the rectory, home to feed and let Tucker out, and then back to work at the gas station. I hope to get to a couple of stores and the gym after work tonight.

Keeping all in prayer!

Dear God, please help Susan to realize what she is doing to hurt the elderly.

Today I went for some standard blood work. Glad to have breakfast afterwards. Picked up my income tax reports. Unfortunately I am owing the Government some money and so is my husband. We keep trying every year to avoid this, but somehow we're not doing the right thing. Doesn't help that I have so many 'casual' jobs rather than one full or part time position. Oh well, at least I am happy doing what I am doing. This afternoon I got some music filing done, feels good to have that all organized for next Christmas and Easter. Tonight there is a 7:00 Mass. I think I will walk to church as it is not very far. Sometimes it is just too convenient to have my own car, but I really can't live without it!

Hope you are all having a good week so far.

Yes, Sharon, Susan does need our prayers. It is sad that money takes the place of genuine care. I wonder why the council on aging hasn't investigated and attempted to prosecute. I suggest that if Susan is a friend, then drop her as a friend...tell her why, if necessary, but pray for her.

I called the office of the aging about this man. He is going to be moved out of his apartment and evaluated concerning his mental health. I found out that he is giving Susan lots of money and that is why she never reported now bad his living conditions where. I expect that she will do something to let me know how angry she is that her cash resource has been taken away. There is another elderly man in that same building that Susan is getting him to give her money. Plus the elderly woman Susan has taken into her home has dropped 100 pounds and she is not being cared for. Susan has taken this woman's money and her car, but does not properly care for the woman. The woman is left alone for hours ans is locked in a room by herself. This woman is not able to walk.

I found out that Susan's neighbors have called the dept. of the aging to get the elderly woman out of Susan's home. Susan needs lots of prayers.

Sharon, it is probably better for your own health not to be working in this man's apartment. Let's pray that this man gets the help which he should be getting - at his age and in his condition, he should definitely be in the care of a nursing home. Best of luck talking to the son.

Sharon, you did the right thing. Most likely he has done this to others and he definitely needs help! I would think that if he has a case worker, he will get housing of some sort, but it sounds like he needs to visit the psych ward for a while. Try to collect the money due you and move on. I will keep you in prayer!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today I am feeling upset as well as confused. The elderly man, who's apartment I have been cleaning, is not capable of caring for himself and his apartment is a mess within 24 hours after I leave. He throws everything on the floor, does not take his medicine and goes to the bathroom where he happens to be. His apartments smells awful and he keeps the heat at 95 degrees. The food on his stove is spoiled, he eats it and then gets sick.

Well, today he asked me to come and clean the last corner of his apartment. Believe me, the place is still a big mess. However, he is upset that I cleaned it. He said it looks too clean, like a normal person lived in it. So I had to get the one corner cleaned today and leave for good.

When I got there, he knew I was coming, he was naked. I walked right out of the apartment and went down to the apartment manger's office. The case worker was there. I told her what was going on. Then I called the woman who had gotten this cleaning job for me. She (Susan) was very upset with me because I said what I did to the case worker. Susan told me that I most likely have caused this man to die soon because he will be evicted. I felt very bad. Yet, this man is living a life that is not healthy, he endangers himself because he cooks and forgets to turn the stove off.

I no longer want to work on his apartment and I am not certain I will be paid for my work by his family now. Susan, the woman who got me the job, I found out is taking $5.00 per hour of my money just because she wants to. Also, she has cheated me out of two hours. I no longer trust her. So I have gotten the man's son's phone number. I have no idea what the son is like, yet, I feel it is better for me to speak with him than Susan.

My husband was right when he said that he sensed Susan was someone not to trust. I truly need to pray more.

Welcome to your dh! I'm sure you and he will have a wonderful journey in getting closer to the Lord!
I pray while on the treadmill...usually a Rosary and a Chaplet help me get my time in! Sometimes I get distracted because the gym has TV's running and if I happen to look at one I lose my "count". I do not use a Rosary at the gym...just my fingers!
If dh doesn't want to go down to the Canal for a walk, I'm going to the gym when I get out of work! Ordered a new Kindle (Paperwhite version) so that I can read the Bible or do other prayers or read something else while on the treadmill or bike! Should be here tomorrow. I hope I chose the right style!
Going to finish breakfast and then get ready for work!

Our Easter Vigil was beautiful, even with having heavy rain for two days. We were able to have our Holy Fire and get everyone's candles lit, and process into the sanctuary without anyone being drowned! DH was one of 5 candidates being received into the Church last night. It was a long service, but very moving. I have waited, and prayed for almost 37 years, for this night!
Our Lady kept her promise she made to me so very long ago!
We have just chilled here at home today, after a nice Easter brunch. I chose wisely what I ate, so it was really a good meal.
Now my DH and I will embark on a new journey together as Catholics... It will be a grand new adventure orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, I trust in You!
May the Joy of Easter remain always within you!

Easter Vigil was really nice. The choir were outside during the lighting of the fire, along with all the other people who chose to come out. Then we went inside and after the proclamation of light we all lit our candles. So cool to see all the candle lights in a dark church. Then there were five old testament scriptures that were read with a responsorial psalm inbetween, that was done in darkness (candles blown out). Choir had the lighting from the powerpoint projector to help us and there was a little light for the readers/cantors to use at the ambo. Then the lights all came on for Glory to God. We did not have any Baptism or Confirmations. Still the evening was lengthy - We were not finished until 11:30 pm - 2 1/2 hours - Wow! The soloist who sang "The Holy City" after communion did an amazing job - so powerful to hear that last really 'high' note being sung.
Needless to say, it took me a long time to fall asleep after all that excitement. So, when the alarm went off at 6:30, I decided it would be better if I got an extra hour of sleep rather than go to the 7:30 Mass. Then I had more energy to get through the Easter Service in the other church - we had a lot going on there too - choir practise beforehand, choir anthem and a soloist doing special music, and they had communion ( I play soft background music while they do their communion). I usually ride with someone to this church, so after church this morning we went to breakfast at the fairgrounds. Now I am back home, preparing for my company to arrive. Thank goodness my husband looks after the cooking.
Have a blessed Easter everyone!

Sharon, that is/was one dirty apartment! He must have been thrilled with how good it looked after! I sure hope you can finish it on Monday! Some floors can be a real hassle to get clean. Did you soak it with Ammonia or Clorox Cleanup? I'm impressed you were able to help decorate today! Glad you chose the colors your priest wanted...there must have been some Divine Intervention there.

MaryBeth, it must be so difficult to do the church running! I hope you will have the energy to go Easter Mass, but am sure that if you can't Our Lord will still smile His blessings upon you because of the way you honor him with your playing!

I met up with my Saturday after Mass breakfast buddies this morning at 8:00 in lieu of Mass, since we have to wait until tonight for the Vigil. Afterwards I steamed the altar cloths so that the Easter flowers could be put on the altar. The flowers and the decorators came while I was working on the cloths. I had to leave to do a couple of errands, then go to work. When I finished at work, I went back to the church and helped Rich, our sexton, with clean up after the decorators. I have to say I am not impressed with the arrangements...too many flowers and they are all pushed to close together. I'm one of those, less is more people! Plus, I have spatial issues, so having all the flowers clumped bothers me. I found out they spent over $1400 on the flowers...what a rip off! Just my opinion here...I'm sure others with find it all lovely and think they got a deal.

We are going to eat dinner and then get ready for the Vigil. I will be at the church at 7:00, Vigil starts at 8:00. I sure hope they shut off all the lights tonight...they didn't last year and it just seemed less poignant!

Have Blessed Holy Saturday night!

Anne

Well, today I decided it was time I do some housecleaning. I guess with my age it is now taking me longer to get the house cleaned, and perhaps I am more cautious after having a hip replaced. I suppose I was in the mood today because I am having company tomorrow.

I look forward to tonight's Easter Vigil. It doesn't start till 9 pm so I guess it will be a late night. I have to play at the United Church tomorrow and be there for 9 AM. I am hoping to go to Easter Mass at 7:30 AM, before heading to the other church, but will see how tired I am after tonight.

Yes, Mary Beth the attendance is low and it is sad. I wonder how much longer we will have religious freedom. Things are happening that may affect out religious freedom.

Yesterday I went to clean a 95 year old man's apartment. Oh my!! His apartment is the dirtiest one I have ever seen. The kitchen stove and refrigerator were covered with a very thick smoke film, grease and mold! The floor had 20 pounds of dirty cat litter all over. The walls by the stove had three inches of grease. His bathroom has another 20 pounds of dirty cat litter all over the floor, the toilet has three inches on caked on cleaner covered with black mold. I need a wire brush to get the toilet clean. The tile had green mold and a three inch thick smoke film. The closet in the kitchen was filled with garbage and dirty cat litter--another 20 pounds. I worked seven hours on the kitchen and bathroom. I washed the floors 12 times and still have not gotten them clean. But you can now see the color of the floors, the closet is spotless, the kitchen looks good, the bathroom tub, tile and walls are clean. The floor no longer has litter and you can see the color of the floor. I now need to do his bedroom and living room too. There are clothes, piles of newspaper and magazines, papers, dirty paper plates, cups and spilled cat food all over. I am hopping to get his apartment done on Monday. Also, I am praying that the woman who manages the apartments will hire me to clean some of the peoples' apartments (not dirty like this one).

When I got home Friday, I got not walk. I collapsed from the pain. So I my husband carried me to bed. After taking my pain medicine I fell asleep.

This morning was was still in pain. It took me two hours to finally get out of bed. Then I went to church for morning prayer and helped decorate the church for Easter. I offered my pain up. After I was done decorating I could not believe how much better I felt. Plus it so wonderful to see our priest so happy with the way our church looked. I ordered the flowers this year, they are white, purple and yellow, gold. The colors that our priest wanted but did not tell me.

MaryBeth, it is very sad that the attendance at these most holy days of the church is low.

I am looking forward to tonight's Vigil...we have 1 catechumen and 4 candidates. It should be so special!

Enjoy your Holy Saturday!

Our Holy Thursday Mass was lovely and today's Good Friday service as well. They were both quite lengthy especially today (100 minutes). Our new pastor is very devout - he takes his time, no rushing. I don't think anyone complained too much. After all it is the most important celebrations within our church year. Choir is doing an excellent job at music ministry. Kudos to our director and accompanist who help us to make beautiful music.
Tonight I played organ at the United Church where I work. Sad that very few people attended their Good Friday service. But my choir did a very good job singing all the hymns, and a soloist sang "Pie Jesu" very beautifully.
Can't wait to see how our Easter Vigil goes. It starts at 9 pm Saturday. We don't have any RCIA candidates this year so it might be a little shorter than usual. I love the darkness into light ritual.

MaryBeth, thank you for explaining the community center service. It sounds like it was a good place to hold it. I did like the idea of everyone filing out and then re-entering to separate the prayer service from the reception. Practicing for the Triduum and Easter Sunday tends to go long at our choir, too.

I went to Tenebrae last night. It was very nice, but the church was rather cold! Sadly, only 22 people went, according to one of the deacons that I spoke with afterwards. There was also Confessions going on and Father managed to have a priest from LaSalette come to help. I do not think it was necessary, though. I must admit that I am disappointed...wonder how the deacons felt. I wonder where all the St. Martha's people were...I was under the impression that it was rather well attended (of the 22 at least half were St. Mary's people) when held at St. Martha's. Wonder if they were perturbed that it was held at St. Mary's. Tonight the Holy Thursday Mass will be at St. Martha's. I will go to that and then stay for adoration afterwards. I sure hope a lot of St. Mary's people will go to St. Martha's.

Off to work. Wishing all a great day!

Anne, they used the community centre because this guy was involved in the Optimist Club and he helped build that centre. It was probably a lot of extra work for the funeral home people to bring everything to the centre. I don't think that our church would have been able to hold all the people that were there. It was certainly convenient in that we did not have to travel a church to another location where lunch was. But a Mass could not be held in a community centre - it was a prayer service with lots of eulogies and music.
I had a busy day today - went to the school Mass this morning, then visited with my sister-in-law for a while. This afternoon I had a training program for work to attend. Then I went to choir practise this evening and it of course was very lengthy due to practising everything for the Triduum and Easter.

Good day all!
Leah, great job on the the weight drop! Sorry about the plateau...hopefully once you start using the treadmill it will start dropping again! Congrats on dh! We have 1 Catechumen and 4 Candidates this year! It should be a very nice service. I love when there is someone coming into the church...it makes Easter Vigil so much more special to me.
Sharon, I'm sure you will drop those 3 pounds. I hope there is something that can help the hip pain.

I am in a conundrum! I want to be two places at one time tonight! Our parish is having Tenebrae at 7:30 and I have St. Ignatius Exercises at 6:30 - 8:00! I think I am going to email Sr. and tell her that I really feel compelled to be here for Tenebrae. I have read the St. Ignatius Exercises book and have written a lot in my journal...I think I can keep up with it. I had thought she would have skipped this week, but I was wrong.

Have a great rest of the day!

Hello my dear friends:

Leah how wonderful you are done 22 lbs. I have gained three lbs. I think it is because of my hip pain. It's time to change things once again.

Today will be a busy day. I am praying that my pain will be less so I can get things done.

May each of us have a very special Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday & Easter Sunday.

Good Morning!
We have Adoration this week... I was able to spend an hour in Our Lord's Presence. How I wish we had an Adoration Chapel at our parish! It will come one day... we have the funds now to build our new facility next to the sanctuary. I can't wait for them to begin building!
MaryBeth, I have a devotion to St. Faustina... I'll begin my Divine Mercy Novena on Friday. What a blessing it will be to have JPII canonized on Mercy Sunday!
I've been doing ok. DH will be brought into the Church this Saturday. Our Lady promised me years ago he would convert, and now he has. Mixed emotions... happy and a bit overwhelmed at the same time.
I got the new treadmill, and now my feet are giving me a fit, so I can't use it until they are better. My heels are very sore, no matter what I do. Ben Gay has helped. Rheumy doc appointment is first week in May.
My Sparking is going well. I'm down 22 pounds, and I seem to be staying at this point. The scale will move again when I can exercise more. I am eating wisely and well.
I hope everyone is continuing to grow through this Lenten season. Anything we do to draw us closer to God is good!
May we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us and correct us as we live the Passion Week .
Peace be with you all!

Hello everyone.

Anne, I so enjoy your postings!

Marybeth, how sad about your friend. There had to have been feelings of hopelessness.

This is Holy Week and I will not be on very much. I want to spend more time with our Lord and in silence when I can.

It is sad when someone takes their lives. He must have been in a great deal of inner pain. This pain does not allow them to see the pain their death will cause their family, friends, and community. I wonder why they didn't use a church and then go to the community center.
May eternal rest be granted unto him!

Raining, so it is dark and gloomy this morning...but I am not, lol! I must admit that despite waking up at 5:00, I did not have enough sleep and so rolled back over until 6:15 when I had to get up to feed the dog! Don't know if I will make it to the gym today, but I will try!

Have a nice day!

Anne

Today I went to a funeral - not a relative, just someone I knew from the community. He was 74 and had committed suicide. Hard to understand why anyone would take their own life. This guy was well known and did a lot of good deeds. The funeral was held at a community centre - there were over 300 people in attendance. Our Deacon performed the service - no Mass. It was quite lengthy with the eulogies and some recorded music, but all in all it was a lovely celebration of his life. When the service was done, the people exited then re-entered after the room switched over from a church/funeral home setting to a dining hall. Interesting.

Hi all! I hope that you don't mind that I post these Excerpts from St. Faustina, but sometimes they really hit home for me and I have the overwhelming need to share. Today's was one of those:
Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina:
Strive for a life of recollection so that you can hear My voice, which is so soft that only recollected souls can hear it (Diary - 1779).

Meditation:
Lord, as I prepare to enter into Your Passion with You, still my heart, quiet my mind. Help me to hear Your voice speak to my heart Your words of mercy, which my heart so very much longs to hear.

MaryBeth, glad you checked in! Holy Week can really knock the stuffings out of those that actively participate in every part of it! I know by Easter Sunday after the morning Mass, I am pooped and I'm just part of the choir and sometimes a lector at a number of the Masses/services. I will pray that all will have stamina to make it through. I do love Holy Week, all the Masses and services are just so poignant!
Well, there was a change up this morning. Fr. did not use the long version of the Gospel because he asked the Deacon to assist the priest in our sister parish, St. Martha's. So I ended up lectoring the 1st & 2nd readings and saying the Prayers of the Faithful, then went and joined the choir for the rest of the Mass. I don't know why, but once Mass was over I was totally wiped out! I couldn't go lie down because I needed to go back to the rectory to help set up for a party. I was happy to head home at 6:45! Heading to bed pretty soon!
May the Lord bless you with an awesome night's rest!

Hi everybody.
Haven't checked in lately, so here I am on this wonderful Palm Sunday. I was at Mass last night as I was the organist. A big occasion and it was my first weekend to play since our new priest came to the parish. Every priest comes with different ideas - five minutes before Mass, it was announced that people would go over to the parish hall, but those who wished to stay in church could - they would hear through the sound system. The palms were blessed and gospel read in the hall as well as a short sermon, then the people processed into the church with their blessed palm branches. As organist I had to watch for the procession to start coming into the church, which is when we starting singing "All Glory Praise and Honor". This was certainly a long Mass with the reading of the Passion - we were an hour and a half total. Two sermons is a bit much, but Fr. Francis had very good messages. We also had some very appropriate music and I had a good cantor to lead.
I will be busy this week as I am joining with the church choir to sing for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. At my other church job, there will be a Good Friday evening service and then Easter Sunday.
Have a blessed week everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I changed my evening plans yesterday. Instead of coming home and "doing nothing" dh and I went to the Outlets...I had hoped to find a red blouse for Passion Sunday. Alas! The only reds I found were left from winter. So in place of one red top, I bought two Spring tops and one pair of beige slacks. Hmmm, I wonder why we say pair of slacks when we only are referring to 1. I will try to use my own winter red top and lighten it up with a scarf or something. The other 2 tops and the slacks will be used at Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. Afterwards dh & I met my cousins for dinner. It ended up being a nice evening. However, I never accomplished anything I had hoped to. Perhaps today I will!

"...God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
which is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father." ~ Phil 2:9-11

Yesterday was a long, busy day! Seemed like working was never going to end...little issue at the gas station in the morning, lots of cleaning at the rectory during the day (also made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for Fr. for his b-day), then back to the gas station...annoying stuff with people (that is, the boss) not leaving me information on a number of work orders and a payout! GRRRR! He drives me crazy that way! The night ended well, though...went to a friend's for chit-chat and games (Sequence).

It's going to be busy again today...Mass, volunteer, work at the gas station! No night plans. Hope dh will be okay with just staying home and doing nothing, because I do have some things that I would like to finish up here!

Time to get ready for Mass. Wishing you a Blessed Saturday!

Went to Mass this AM and then decorated the church for Palm Sunday. It was so relaxing to decorate by myself. I think that I will be decorating for Easter with just my family and I. That will be a blessing for me.

Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina:
Tell me all, My child, hide nothing from Me, because My loving Heart, the Heart of your Best Friend, is listening to you (Diary - 1486).

Meditation:
Jesus, I trust in You as my Best Friend. You alone do not disappoint me. You do not laugh at my sorrows and worries, which are often trifles. You do not ridicule me, even when I am foolish. How could I live without You? How could I live without Your love in my life?
- Fr. Daniel Cambra, MIC

Boy did this hit home today! I have a situation that I do not wish to voice at this time because I need more information, but reading Jesus' words to St. Faustina...it is as if He is talking to me, because I need to talk to Him! Fr. Daniel's meditation only helped make me realize how I needed to see those words!

Have a nice night, all!

Sharon, a prayer corner/room is a great idea! Now that my kids are gone, I have 2 bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom to escape to. Often I will escape into the bathtub mostly because I can turn on the exhaust fan and block out dh's TV volume. However, I can have a candle in there, turn off the overhead light and just run the heat lamp...it gives a very nice ambience. I suppose being in the a bubble bath may seem somewhat disrespectful to God by some people, but He knows what I look with or without clothes, so I'm thinking it is okay because it a quiet time with Him. Sure hope I'm right, lol!

Leah, I think it is a great idea to have the basket (to go)! I have a bag of things right now, but it does not include the Bible I prefer...the Bible is very big and heavy, so it sits on my hope chest in the dining room...easy access for when I need it. I have a paperback Bible in my bag, so at least there is Scripture there.

Going to finish up some prayers and then off to bed...I need to get to work early tomorrow...Wednesday is billing day! Praying all will have a wonderful evening!

Creating a place of refuge is a great idea, Sharon! My little space that I call my mamacave is just that... a refuge from when "life" begins to close in on me. I have my basket of devotionals, my prayer journal and my chair. I have been known to grab the basket and head outside if the noise inside is too much. The basket makes my prayer space movable, and will go anywhere I choose. It is nice to have the door to close, and mostly DH honors it. But when he is in the 5 or 12 year old frame of mind, it doesn't register with him. Even the car can be a refuge, if need be. The Holy Spirit will guide you, and you can have a special place to turn to when you need it.

I am so very grateful for all your comments.

My husband sides with our daughter 99% of the time and rarely considers my feelings. I do believe that is why my daughter is so disrespectful to me. Yesterday I let go and am now turning to prayer. I feel so very weak and know that nothing I do will change things. So I am turning to our Lord, Bless Mother Mary and St. Joseph.

My husband was very angry last night (something happened at his job) and did not mind verbally taking his anger out on me. Today I have very little energy. So I went to Mass and spoke with my priest. I need to create a prayer room in my house so I can find a place of refugee.

Sharon, I think her actions are rather typical of teens these days. They see and hear so much disrespect all around them it is no wonder they are influenced by it. She may also be testing you because of the adoption situation. I will keep you and your family in prayer!

Good to hear your husband can get out and about. I bet he is happy too.

Well, my daughter is up to being disrespectful and hurtful again. This time, I am not responding to her cutting, hurtful remarks. All I do is pray and walk away from her. I cannot believe how mean she can be and not feel any guilt about it.

Since the weather is getting better, I am going to start counseling and take my daughter too. She will fight me, but I am going to see that she goes. This morning she was very nasty to me. After she left for school I cried all morning. I am a failure as a mother to her. She does not like me, respect nor want anything to do with me. Believe me, being rejected by your child is very painful. Plus hearing the strong feelings of dislike in her voice when she speaks to me is all the more painful.

We have not heard from NY State yet that they accept our adoption of her. If we have to re-adopt her, I am not sure she will want me to be her mother. It will truly crush me of she does want me as her mother.

Never made it down to the Canal or any outdoors activity, other than driving to the stores. We did spend a long time walking up and down aisles in 2 stores, Harbor Freight and BJ's Warehouse. Both stores were supposed to be...just picking up a couple of items, however, they ended up being a lot more than that! When I got home and put everything away, dh suggested going to Chinese Buffett. We had a very nice time and the bonus was we got the lunch rate...cost us $7/person! Afterwards I spent the evening creating a baby shower guest list and then doing up all the invitations. I was not using my noodle...I bought the baby shower fill-in cards! If I had been smart, I would have bought card-stock and made them all on the computer and only had to write up the envelopes! All is done, except one address...my sister should be letting me know what her daughter's address is today! Now to plan the shower foods and the favors!

Yay! My dh is finally going to be out of the house on a Monday! I will go to Mass and then come home and do banking, pay bills, and file...all over my kitchen table and counter! It is so much easier to do when he is poking and interrupting! While all that is going on I will have the laundry running.

Hope all are well! May God bless you with a productive day!

Good morning! The sun is shining brightly and the temps should be in the upper 50's here in MA. After Mass I have some stuff to do that is indoors, but hope to finish quickly so that dh and I can do an outdoor activity of some kind...if it is not too windy, maybe a trip down to Cape Cod Canal and take a walk.
Enjoy your day!

Anne, I downloaded the fee format they suggested. I am enjoying the sight. I have also listened to some of the videos too.

Well, I am learning a lot from the book I am reading. I now realize that in order to be taught by Our Heavenly Father, we must be a member of His church. It is then that we are His adopted child. Until then, He cannot teach us properly.

Let us remember that we are God's creatures to whom deserves nothing and has nothing but that which God has given us. Our hearts should be overflowing with love and gratitude. It is only in loving God and serving Him that we can find true happiness.

Good morning!

Dee, what kind of crafting do you, Dad, or dh make? Glad you were able to spend time in there and get it straightened out!

Again, I have to share this morning's Excerpt from St. Faustina and the Meditation that went along with it:

Excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina:

Encourage the souls with whom you come in contact to trust in My infinite mercy. Oh, how I love those souls who have complete confidence in Me I will do everything for them (Diary - 294).

Meditation:

My God, I trust in You, but heal my lack of trust! I want to encourage others to trust in Your mercy, but I myself sometimes feel like I need others to encourage me. Remind me of Your goodness. Help me to experience Your tenderness more deeply. How can I do this? Ah, yes. I'll think about all the good things You've done for me. When I look back on my life, I see that You've helped me through so many difficult times. You've been the best of friends. You were always there for me when I turned to You. Yes, I will encourage others to trust in You, and I will tell them that they will not be disappointed.
- Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC

I receive these Excerpts daily from Flocknote.com. My prayer is similar to Fr. Michael's...I trust, then I don't...Lord, make me trust in You always!

Sharon, thank you for sharing that website. I quickly looked at it. Looks like there is an over abundance of free material to read. What format are you using to read the book...e-Reader or computer?

I think the pillowcase worked. I brought it with me and put it on the pillow...it was a tad tight, but not sure if that is because I did not cut off the extra material...in case I mis-measured. I brought it home to do the cutting and to wash it. I will put it on the pillow next week when I change the sheets. If he likes it I will do it with another pillow case. I am home early...waiting for the pizza delivery...wish I ordered it before I left work, oops! Planning to just relax tonight...I'm really tired.

May the Lord provide you with abundant grace and blessings! Sleep well, my friends!

Praying your pillow case works out Anne.

I am reading a book from 1832, "Divine Love And The Love of God's Most Blessed Mother" by Francis J. Weld. I cannot put it down. Oh there is so much I am learning in this book. There is a wonderful website I found Archives.Org. You can read books that all out of print and like this book, every old. They can be religious or not.

Sharon, I hope you have the same priest or have one with a similar way!

Dee, enjoy your outdoors and "me" time! Sometimes we just need to step away. May the Lord provide you with His peace that can be found in nature!

Managed to get most of my work at the rectory done. Still have a couple of things left to do, so I will go in for a couple of hours tomorrow. I want to try and "take in" a pillowcase for Fr. He has one of those temper-pedic neck type pillows and the pillowcases swim on the pillow. I don't know if he cares about it, but it drives me nuts! I can order one for $16, plus $12 shipping...a bit expensive for 1 pillowcase. So, I took one of the extra pillowcases that was in the linen closet, pinned it, and will try to stitch it so it will fit better. If I have time tomorrow, I'll attempt that, otherwise it will be over the weekend. (Prayers that I will be able to stitch in a straight line, lol!)

Keeping all in prayer! Have a good night!

Anne

Anne, so grateful that you had a great priest for confession. This coming Monday we are having a penance service at our church and I am praying that I get the same priest I did the last time.

It is so disturbing and sad about the shootings at Ft. Hood. Everyone touched by the shootings needs our prayers today.

I am taking some time today to pray more and I hope to go to adoration tomorrow.

Good morning! I had a wonderful priest for Confession last evening. He did not make me feel rushed and made me feel very comfortable. I don't usually feel too uncomfortable, but there are times and last night was one prior to going into the confessional. I would love for this priest to be nearby for me to take advantage of this beautiful sacrament. It was a great experience!

Rushing, as usual...just don't want to get up these mornings. Wishing all a good day!

Pray for our troops, especially those at Ft. Hood, living and deceased! Pray for all those who are suffering from severe depression that they will find joy in Jesus!

Dee, that's great news about your Dad. Glad you are able to get more walking in!

Going to be a long day...have a headache and feel kind of blah! Hope as the morning progresses that will change...I am going to the St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises tonight! I will ask my boss if she can work for me tonight so that I can head out even earlier so that I can go to Confession, too.

Wishing all a good day!

Praise the Lord that April is finally here!

Hope you enjoyed your beautiful Spring day, Sharon!

Had an aggravating start to the day...partly due to an aggravating end of yesterday...the morning shift yesterday did not balance and was almost $75 short. Then the night shift that I worked on this morning was goofy, too! Finally after a bit of checking and rechecking I found the errors (yay! not me!) and got the shifts to be in the realm of okay...morning was 4 cent over and night was 10.04 short. It's one thing when the shifts are off, but when some of it is due to other people not putting notes in about what has transpired when there isn't a work order or something to document it for me...well, that makes me nuts!!!! Praying that today will be better!

Wishing all a wonderful April!
