Had another check-up today. Doc said I was the "poster child" for everything going well. Yay! All the problems I have are very typical for this point in a pregnancy (33 weeks) and should go away when baby is born: ankle swelling, numbness/achiness in hands, getting winded easy. Nothing to worry about & nothing I can't deal with for 7 more weeks.

I also got a flu shot today. I decided to risk the possible side effects (I've gotten a slight fever from some previous flu shots) in order to lessen the risk of getting a full-on flu. I haven't gotten the flu in a long time despite rarely getting flu shots, but I want to be extra cautious this year. So far, so good -- it's been 6 hours and my arm isn't even sore. Hopefully, I'll still feel good tomorrow.

Had an ultrasound yesterday. The tech said baby was measuring about average on everything and that my original due date of 12/12 looks right on target. That's reassuring after hearing constantly from everyone how big I look and how they think she'll be a big baby and/or come early. Nope, the tech said baby was normal size, it's just that mom is small :)

Went to thre doctor on Wed., and I'm still at 1.5 no change since last week....guess she's comfy in there lol. My feet have been swelling pretty bad this week, even my toes. It doesn't help that I have to stand most of the time at work. Oh well, only a week and a half to go...hopefully she will come this wknd!!!

Had a regular OB/GYN check-up today. Doc said everything is going well. My DH asked him about whether my weight gain was on track and Doc said kinda hesitantly that it was OK. He said it in a tone of voice that implied that I was a little heavier than I should be. He instantly corrected himself somewhat: "It's OK... it's not bad...it's fine" and then said that there's already so much to deal with for a pregnancy and since everything else is fine, then my weight is not anything worth worrying about. I've gained about 20 lbs so far going into week 28, which is not too far from normal, I thought.

I feel fine other than achy hands/wrists and occasional swelling feet (which doc said should get better as long as I stay hydrated and as the weather cools down--been 95-100 most of the last two months, ugh!!). So, I won't worry about weight too much. I have been letting myself indulge a little more than I should in sweets and barely exercised for a few weeks (better this past week!), so I could stand to do a little better. But I'm not going to stress out about it. Just means a little more weight to lose after baby is born.

Just got the results from my one-hour glucose/GD test -- it's negative! Yay. I was just barely in the normal range (126; normal is under 130), but that's good enough for me.

I was a little worried b/c I've been caving to sugar cravings more than I should. I think it's because I've been so tired lately. I don't get enough sleep. I wish I could sleep in another hour or two in the mornings. I would be soooo much more productive at work. It's hard to take a nap in the afternoon when I'd rather use my lunch break for actually eating lunch and other breaks are too short for a decent nap.

Went to the doctor yesterday, everything is going well. I am dilated at 1.5 now..that's .5 in 2 weeks. Hopefully I will be more when I go next week. I also got my Strep B test back and it was negative! I am going to do a lot of walking this wknd in hopes of maybe her want to come out sooner lol.

I saw my OB-GYN on Friday and he said everything looks good. He commented that I look big for only 5.5 months, but acknowledged that my having a really short torso would account for that. Had an ultrasound on Tuesday and the tech said baby is measuring about 5 days ahead, but that the original due date is still typically the best. So baby may decide to come out early. Or not. Got a cute picture of her foot and one of her face. She was moving around a lot!

I need to go in for my 1-hour glucose test sometime this week or next week. It's a drop-in appointment. I'll probably go one morning this week and get it over with. My doctors are moving into a brand new building on Saturday (right next door to the old buildings) and I'm guessing it'll be a bit crazy for a few days after.

I was born with a club foot, as were all my siblings and cousins. We're all OK and several of us ended up being fairly successful athletes too. The orthopedic corrections occurred so early in life that I don't even remember it, even though I learned to walk with my feet in braces. I've had tons of ultrasounds and the technicians are quite variable in their people skills. I'd skip the amnio too.

**Wouldn't it be boring if we knew where life would take us ahead of time?**

O how great that your having a boy!!! It definitely sounds like the ultrasound tech could have handled that differently instead of scaring the poo out of you sheesh! It has been my experience that alot of ultrasound techs have horrible people skills lol I'm sure all will be well especially given your family history so try not to let it stress you too much but I definitely get how your feeling. We all hope for happy healthy babies and any illness or hardship our children face is hard to take doesn't matter that it could be more serious. When my daughter was 3 mo old she started getting horrible fevers and even had a seizure from her temp going so high they found out she had kidney reflux that caused her to get uti's constantly Finding out what it was and that it wasn't something more serious was a big relief but you still grieve that your child has to go through that, your feelings are perfectly normal under the circumstances. I don't know much about what they do for a club foot but it sounds like from what you said its just a temporary cast thing so try to take some comfort from knowing that he'll be to little to remember any discomfort it causes

Hugs to you what a stressful week(s)!! Yeah I'd pass on the amino too. It doesn't change anything. It does appear to be a special familial genetic mutation! You can tell him he's an x men!

Before I get started, just wanted to state this is a bit long, so I apologize.

I had my first ultrasound/anatomy scan on July 19th at 18 weeks. We're having a BOY! I had a feeling it was a boy, but almost everyone else in my family (other than my mom and my sister's boyfriend) thought it would be a girl. It was interesting to see his body parts and see that he was on track for growth. Everything was looking good in terms of heart, spine, growth, all that jazz.

However, the ultrasound tech said it appears that the baby has a right club foot. She then proceeded to say that club foot could be an indication of spina bifida and downs syndrome, causing me to start internal panicking. She even asked if I could go to the hospital immediately after leaving the ultrasound room. It took a great experience and made it stressful.

Luckily, I had my prenatal appointment immediately after the ultrasound on another floor in the same building, so I was able to talk to my doctor about what to do next. She explained that we need to be cautious, but that usually 2 club feet point indicated a chromosomal concern, and he only had one. She had blood drawn at the office for multiple markers and had me schedule an appointment with a genetic counselor.

After my appointments, we called our families to share news about having a boy, and to talk to our parents about his club foot. I found out that on my dad's side I have an uncle who had a club foot, a cousin (not my uncle's child) who had 2 club feet, and a great grandfather with a club foot. This was a little reassuring, because it shows that this is most likely an isolated incident, meaning it's unrelated to a disorder.

My blood work came back great, so that made me feel good. We had the genetic counseling appointment on the 26th. After viewing the family tree, we were once again told that it appears to be an isolated incident. The counselor said that an ultrasound is 50% accurate in finding chromosomal abnormalities, the blood work is 70% accurate, and that I could get amnio, which is 99% accurate. However, I do not feel amnio is something I need to do. I feel comfortable with the information I already have, and the results would not change my mind anyway.

I will be having another ultrasound at 30 weeks. This will allow them to check his growth and organs again as well as make sure there wasn't a mistake in stating he has a club foot. Plus side, I get to see him again! Also, we have to meet with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon sometime around 30 weeks. We need to have plans in place before our son is born, that way if his foot is severely clubbed, surgery can be done. If it's less severe, they will just do the casts every 1.5 - 2 weeks. However, we won't really know until he's born, so planning is all we can do!

I know club foot is minor compared to what some families go through, and that it can easily be treated, but I still spent a few days being upset. I had to explain to my husband that I'm not upset that he has a club foot, but it makes me sad to think that my little baby may be in casts for many months while they work on straightening his foot.

I've read some message boards and posted my own thread regarding club foot, and got a lot of reassurance about children who had both surgery and casts during the first couple of months, but hitting their milestones (crawling and walking) the same time as their peers or shortly after.

Whew! That's my long post! Thanks for reading!

One of my best friends just had a 10 pound 3 oz and 22 inch baby boy, she is only 5'2. She said is was a surprise. Her daughter was only like 7pds when she was born... her husband is 6'5 though lol. My husband was 6 pounds and I was 7, all 3 of my nephews were between 9 and 10 pounds... so I'm hoping it was my sister-n-law that made them that big. I would rather have a like a 7 pound baby.

My husband and I were both huge babies. I'm fairly certain it's genetics. I was 10 1/2 lb and he was 9 1/2! I think my doc is just hopeful it's diabetes so she has a chance to slow down the rate of growth- so there less complications- but I think she may be out of luck. However I'm not against a c section if necessary, so it's not like she'd have to convince me at the last minute! I may end up getting a c/s anyway since I've got. Slight placenta Previa.its all up in the air for now so I'm trying not to worry about it!

Yep, I know several people who had big babies and didn't have GD. Both women were really little too. Their DH's were like football players and were big babies. I'm glad my DH is average, lol. Nothing wrong with it but the bigger the baby the scarier it is to me to push that out, lol. Although the women I know that had the big babies didn't have a single tear and no problems. (although they had home births so no doc did an unnecessary episotomy.

Oh no! Glad your BP is good though. I'm the opposite. My BP has been high but no protein in my urine. I have to lay off salt myself and drink plenty of water. :-/ I miss my salt. I'd salt a salt lick. lol

Good luck to everyone! :-)

How awesome I wish we had a prenatal yoga class offered here. So great that it helped with your hip pain that can be unbearable! Were you or your husband large babies? I mean there are other reasons for a baby to be big than having diabetes! Besides I had diabetes both times my daughter was born at 7lb 12oz and this baby has been measuring on track the whole time so who knows!

Went in today for my 37 week appointment she said I had to much protein in my urine and I have been swelling the last few days but my bp is still good so they just want me to drink more water eat less salt for now I go back thursday night for another NST. Also today they decided to sched me for an induction on the 13th 5 days before my due date not sure how I feel about that yet....

26w3d today. My baby is large, and i did two 1hr GTT one at 19w one at 24, and ive passed them both. My ob is convinced I'm cheating LOL! I have a glucose monitor so I'm checking my sugar to appease her for the next week. It's also forcing me to make better food choices so maybe it's a good thing. I've been a terrible cake monster lately.

I was feeling lonely and isolated so i went to a prenatal yoga class. I'm so glad I did-- surprise benefit it is helping my VERY painful hip. The pain is almost gone! Before i could barely walk straight.

Had my Doc appt today! She checked me, I wanted her too since I've been having so many contractions here lately... I wanted to see if I'm making any progress... even though I KNOW that doesn't really matter, I just wanted to see if these contractions have been doing ANYTHING, lol.
Apparently they have... I'm 60% effaced and 1/2 cm. dilated. :-) Not much but at least it's something. :-)
Baby's head down and low in pelvis. Her back/butt is in the front of my tummy so she is positioned perfectly.
She's measuring me at a week ahead still so she feels I could go anytime since she thinks I'm more like 39 weeks but not to get my hopes up too much cause that doesn't always mean anything. I could still go around 42 weeks. I don't think it'll be much longer but no one can predict labor. I know I'd like to have her before the dog days of summer arrive though. :-)

Hope everyone is having good days in all this heat. :-)

Went to the doctor yesterday. Everything was great, I have only gained 13 pounds so far. I only have 10 weeks to go, so hopefully I won't gain too much more; especially if I have the baby earlier. I start going every two weeks next month, maybe then she can give me an idea of if I might go early.

Had my 36 week appointment today and also will start going in 2x week for NST which I was kind of hoping wouldn't happen but they just really like me and apparently want me there all the time! sheesh I always hate this phase of pregnancy you feel like you practically live at the hospital! On the plus side I had my last appointment with the diabetic lady today so unless something drastically changes and I need to go up from the glyburide to insulin I won't have to see her anymore woo hoo. We just upped my dose of the glyburide to twice a day and she said she thinks I'll be fine on that for the last 4 weeks but to call if I see my numbers going up at all so pretty pumped that she thinks I can make it without insulin!

Well yea for the good results and the u/s boo to the late appointment. Whenever I sched mine I always make sure to figure in at least a half hour extra because my doctors office is never ever ever on time!

We didn't do the 3D this time around because of cost but we did it with my first daughter it was really cool. I would recomend the pictures but thought the video was a little much I mean pictures can be put in a baby book or framed or somethin but how often are you really going to pull out that video and watch it? But that was just my opinion

Had my anatomy scan today. Doc said everything looks perfect! So wonderful to see her again and see all her little organs. Got a couple cute profile pics and one of her face looking straight on. Also got a good crotch shot--definitely a girl! She was moving around a lot and close to the uterine wall, so doc was unable to get a good 3-D shot. We've seen a number of independent imaging places around, including one by my acupuncturist's office, so there's a chance we may go to one of them just for photos and/or video. I've heard they're not too expensive, and they look so cool!

Part of the appointment today was with a genetic counselor. DH and I had already decided we didn't want to bother with a genetic screening, other than the standard tests that are already done. The counselor showed us the result of the quadruple screening & it showed low risk for everything (Downs, Trisomy, etc.). That's good enough for us--no need to pay for further testing.

(Side story: The counselor showed us one indicator and told us the mean was 1. Our stat was 1.7, so I asked her what the standard deviation was so I could tell if that was relatively close to normal/low-risk. She said she didn't know any of that "statistics stuff." I had to rephrase my question to layman's terms. I would think someone who deals in genetics would know beginning stats, but obviously not. I guess it's the Economist/stats tutor in me being snobby :) )

DH and I were kinda annoyed b/c our appointment was for 9am and we didn't see the counselor until 10:15. All we wanted were the test results, so that lasted all of 5 minutes. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the ultrasound. Of course, annoyance changed to happiness/excitement/love once we saw our girl moving on the screen emoticon

I am the exact opposite we probably eat red meat like once a week if that lol I really need more protien but am not a big meat eater.

Had my 35 week appointment yesterday I'll be going back weekly from now on and have my first NST next week they're talking about putting me on insulin starting next week so I'm adding a morning workout in daily to hopefully counteract that I have a week to get it in check before they force the shots on me. Baby is head down though and measuring exactly were I should be bp is good so everything else is going the way it should!

Redport - Yaaaaay for good appts! :-) Good luck! I'm right there with ya. :-)

I had my 36 week appt today and it was ok... Only bad thing was high bp readings. Although there were no proteins in my urine they really want to keep check on it. I have to lay off of red meat (which I eat ALL the time) and salt. I have to eat more chicken and she wants me to start taking Magnesium tablets to help get my bp lower and then go from there. It wasn't over the limit but it was right at the limit.
They also measured me as being 37 weeks today and I'm supposed to be 36 weeks today so looks like I might be a week ahead of schedule. :-) I don't mind that at all. I'm sooo ready to go into labor. :-D She's also still head down and positioned just perfectly. HOPEFULLY she'll stay that way. :-D

I'm a few days shy of 37 weeks but I got the big OK from my midwife today so that if I go into labor now we just go with it! Yippy! Had a NST/BPP yesterday that was great, my blood sugar has stayed A-OK, and my blood pressure is good too. I am so ready to meet this little one but I have so much left to do for work that she better not be too early! I better buckle down for the next couple of weeks and get all my work done so I can enjoy her when she gets here!

Hey there. It was great to read all the updates from everyone! I've been a little absent on Spark due to work and being tired and all that jazz.

I had my 3rd prenatal appointment on June 18th (I was 14 weeks). Everything was still looking good. Urine sample was fine, and as of that appointment, I still haven't gained a single pound. And we got to hear the HEARTBEAT. It was so nice to actually hear the baby! Heart rate was 150.

My next appointment is Thursday, July 19th. I will be 18 weeks. We will have our ultrasound at 1:45 then go to another floor in the building for our prenatal appointment. My husband and I are so excited, and I hope the baby cooperates so we can find out what we are having!

We are taking a "stay-cation" immediately after our appointment. His parents gave us some Starwood Points for a hotel, and we're just going to stay in Downtown Pittsburgh for the weekend to spend time together and celebrate finding out the gender! It's going to be nice to get some time away from the house. It may be the last time we get this many days off together until after the baby comes in December!

My doctor called me back today; my test results for the diabetes were normal! Glad I don't have to go back for another one too. I've only gained 9 pounds so far too, hopefully I won't gain too much toward the end.

Yea they are all pretty short like that for me unless I have questions. I love my OB and she never makes me feel rushed if I have questions she'll sit there with me till they're answered but otherwise its usually just a quick in out 2 min check on everything unless I'm having blood taken that day, its normal

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I just had a very short appointment with my OB/GYN. I only saw him for maybe two minutes. The nurses took my weight, blood pressure, & cup of pee. Then the OB/GYN came in, asked how I've been feeling (fine), found the baby's heartbeat with a doppler, and pronounced, "You're still pregnant." (He has a dry sense of humor.) He asked if we're doing an amnio (no) and if we had done the NT screening with the other doctor (yes) and that was it.

I was kinda expecting more -- not sure what, though. DH is better at thinking of questions to ask at appointments, but he couldn't make it this time. I guess everything was normal. I was hoping for another U/S, so I could see my baby, but at least I got to hear her heartbeat for a couple of seconds.

I go for my 2nd trimester screening (blood tests) in two weeks and see the OB/GYN again in 3 weeks. Then a week after that, I go back to the place with the fancy equipment for another ultrasound.

Woo hoo that everythings looking good for you! Those non stress tests are such a pain I had to do them twice weekly with my last pregnancy and they really do just take a chunk out of your already busy day of course anything to make sure babies healthy and strong but still definitely woo hoo that you only have to do them once a week :)

After my last few appointments they said I'd likely have 2X a week non stress tests and every two week midwife appointments starting at 32 weeks. But, I had my 33 week growth scan on Monday (staying consistent at 80% despite the GDM) with an 8/8 biophysical profile and then I had my 33 week midwife appointment today and she said after this I can go to every 3 week midwife appointments and once a week non-stress tests. Yippy. Not that I mind all those ultrasounds, but it really does eat into my days. :-)

I found out a few weeks ago that we are having a little girl. We are so excited, it's the first girl on both sides. My brother has 3 boys, so my mom is more than thrilled. Friday I go to get my diabetes test, I hope everything goes well!

Yaaaay! That's awesome bp and sugar are good! :-D

That sucks about her though. :-/ It doesn't make sense they can't even tell you the weight... It's not like she's analyzing anything. Well crap... Keep us up to date about what they find. :-)
I wish I could know mines weight. It would at least give me an idea of what she'll weigh when she's born... maybe.... My SIL said her first one that was preemie was 6 lbs when she was born although she lost weight when she couldn't eat but that's pretty big for 33 weeks. I just assumed she wouldn't have been over 4 lbs. I'd like to know if I need to lay off the milk and cookies, ;-) hehe.

Today we had our last u/s before baby comes of course my doc was gone and the ultrasound tech said well we can't tell you anything really official results have to come from your doctor (who is away for a funeral out of state) I'm like what you can't even tell me how big she is?!? Horse poop! I did not like the girl at all! Everything else checked out fine sugar levels are still good, bp and weight are on track so now I just have to wait for my dr to come back to find out how the u/s looked.

Hi all! I'm 19w5days today. Monday we had an u/s and it's a boy- a BIG one. He was supposed to be around 8.5 oz but he is measuring over 14. My hubs and I were both huge babies so I'm guessing it's genetic. They pushed up my glucose test and I had it yesterday. It came back fine, so I'm not diabetic thank goodness.

We just had the nuchal translucency screening on June 5. Got to hear the heartbeat and get some nice U/S pics, including a 3-D one. The doctor was able to put the scan info into a computer that already had my blood test results, and the computer was able to crunch out the screening results right then. He said everything tested normal -- no high risk for Down's Syndrome or Trisomy, or anything else they screen for. Yay! Doc asked if we wanted to know the baby's gender. We were surprised he could tell so early at 13 weeks, but he said it was 90% sure: a girl! DH & I were hoping for girl, so we're thrilled. DH's birthday was that day, so he said that was the best birthday gift, ever!

Our next appointment is on June 20th for the 2nd trimester screening with our regular OB/GYN (Nuchal was with an outside specialist; regular place does have the equipment). Also went to my acupuncturist yesterday. I go every two weeks. She just does a few points to support the pregnancy, address any symptoms. She had me on special herbs for pregnancy up til two weeks ago. I've had a fairly easy pregnancy (knock on wood!) with no morning sickness or anything more than minor discomforts, so it's working! Now if I can just get over this head cold I picked up a few days ago...

I had my 2nd appointment on Tuesday, May 22nd. Since I was 10 weeks at the appointment, I didn't get to hear a heartbeat or anything else fun!

Basically, everything is looking good. We discussed the blood work and urine. My iron is great, which is a relief because I always had issues in college with low iron levels. I do not carry the CF gene. Everything else looks good. Urine shows no issues with protein or sugar. Blood pressure was great. I basically haven't gained any weight.

I cannot wait until my next appointment on Monday, June 18th! I will be 14 weeks, so they will try for the heartbeat! Hopefully we can hear it.

The people I see is part of the WomenCare associates that are part of the hospital where pretty much everyone in PIttsburgh delivers. They have offices in different parts of the city. I have been visiting the office near my work, but for this upcoming appt and the following one (which should be the ultrasound) I am having them at the office closer to my house so my hubby can easily make it after he gets off work!

Thanks guys I know she was trying to be nice she was making the point that its fairly common for people who control it on their own or with glyburide for the majority of their pregnancy to have to go to insulin in the last 5 or so weeks because the insulin resistance spikes so much at that time and that I shouldn't feel bad if it happens to me that it doesn't mean I did anything wrong yada yada. I know she was trying to help but it just seemed like she was saying it doesn't matter what you do your doomed to this fate so you might as well give up now. She knows that the main goal of my pregnancy was to stay off insulin this time and I had just been doing so awesome up to this point I was feeling really proud of myself and then for her to just say well everything your doing is right but it doesn't matter kind of wrecked my day.

Ugg sometimes the appointments are so frustrating! Who know what will happen weeks away. My educator lady pretty much told the whole group I was with the same thing but after looking it up online I found that everyone's experience can vary quite a bit, even when they were on insulin during a previous pregnancy. Hang in there and take it day by day.

WHAT!! That's not good encouragement! I think you can do the whole thing without insulin. Just keep up the good work and it can happen.

Ohhh and I meant to say this about the food before, I don't know if you've heard of Agave or if you've used it but I use it and love it. It's a little pricey so I don't use it in everything but when I looked up info about it before I bought it one of the pluses of using it was it doesn't shoot your blood sugar up like other sugar products do. I think calorie wise it's not far from honey or something apparently they say it's good for people with diabetes to use. I think It taste great especially in teas and foods. I've even used it in that Brussel sprout recipe I left on the recipe forum in the place of maple syrup. I don't like it in coffee as well though. Anyway... Just thought I'd mention it cause maybe it could help. :-)

I got my fingers crossed for you and I think you'll be fine! Hell, show her up and keep doing extremely well so she'll be wrong. :-D

I'm measuring like a week behind this serious lack of a big baby belly at 26 weeks is making me crabby lol

I got a call back from the docs today in regards to the blood tests they ran monday when I was there and so far my sugar levels are ok they're border line but since we already knew that and have been working on it they're going to leave me alone for now. But it did come back that my iron is too low so they want me to start eating more iron rich foods :p yuck could they have picked a worse nutrient to eat more of? Lol guess I'll have to do some digging online to try to find some good iron rich foods that don't gross me out :)

Had my 28 wk check up today and looks like I measured 28 wks on the dot. Baby feels head down (although that can change) and blood pressure was fine. They did the GD check but I won't know results for a few days. When they checked my urine though she said it looked fine so she doesn't think there will be any problems. HOPEFULLY not. :-)

Anyone else got any upcoming appts?

O that stinks! I can see their point but they couldn't find the heart beat for me the first time and the second time it took awhile to find it just because of the way baby was positioned so yea it did make me a little nervous but I'm still glad they did it. Yes I have noticed that alot with other ladies stories on here how different things are from place to place but as long as your happy and comfortable with them in all else that's what matters. :)

The office I go to said they will not try for a heart beat until 13 weeks, and I will only be 10 weeks at the appointment. emoticon They said it helps with anxiety and let down, because if you are unable to get the heart beat, some people start worrying something is wrong. It crazy seeing the differences between practices and how they do things!

Hopefully you are able to keep your sugar levels under control!

Yay an (almost) christmas baby! :) Well maybe they'll at least try to hear it when you go back in May you never know you might hear it usually by 10-12 weeks it shows up on a doppler depending on where your uterus is positioned and where babys hidding at the time either way your right it is worth waiting for.

I just got back from my 24 week appt everythings on track as far as growth and everything else but they want me back in 2 weeks to keep an eye on my sugar levels I have been just testing my blood sugar up to this point today they gave me glyburide pills and said I have 2 weeks to get it under control with the pills and exercise or its insulin for me the remainder of this pregnancy. Yuck, glad I have an ob who's willing to work with me though and give me the extra 2 weeks I think I can do it :)

My appointment went well! My due date is December 19th! My next appointment will be May 22nd. Unfortunately, I won't be able to hear the heart beat until the appointment I will have at the end of June. It's definitely worth waiting for!

Yeah, I know! Confirmation would be great! My husband and I have a little ongoing banter right now....

If I make a comment about something I have to change or if I say I'm exhausted, my husband asks, "Why?" in a joking voice. When I say, "Because I'm pregnant." He will say, "Allegedly."

I have my first appointment on Thursday, April 26th. Looking forward to asking some questions and getting that confirmation. We are at 6 weeks.

We get our ultrasound this Friday. ^_^.

As for your cousin, even though it's hard, you can't worry about her pregnancy. Just focus on yours because you can only control what you do. Just try to ignore her complaints. She will gain because I am sure that her doctor is paying attention.

Hubby and I heard the heartbeat for the first time a few weeks ago, and we go again on Wednesday. Our doctor is really cool, I just picked her name from the list and I'm so glad because she has really played off my husband's wacky sense of humor. She said it's going to be a fun pregnancy.

I have a cousin who is due about 3 weeks before me and my grandma told me that my cousin is complaining about being pregnant because she can't drink, smoke or hit the gym as hard as she used to. I was talking to my mom about it and I think that if your lifestyle is that important to you and you don't really want kids, then you probably shouldn't have stopped taking the pill... just saying. Everyone commented at her wedding a few years ago about how thin she was and she needed to eat something, I was hoping that having a baby would put meat on her bones, but after hearing this I fear that she won't eat enough for fear of getting "fat" and that the baby will probably be pretty small at birth. I wish there was some way to show her that you don't have to be 90 pounds to be pretty. Anyway, I get off topic when something revs me up...

on my phone I just went to my multimedia then my sounds and record new I have the micro sd card in my phone so everything gets saved onto there once its on there I just transfer it to my computer and you'd be able to email it. I'm sure no matter what phone you have there would be some kind of recording feature on it you'd just have to play around to find it.

How would I go about recording the heartbeat to send to my husband on the ship?

I always loved hearing the heartbeat :) I did record it on my phone with my last pregnancy so I could listen to it at home over and over lol but haven't done that with this one yet since it wasn't to loud last time we went in I didn't think my phone would pick it up. We go this friday for my 20 week appointment and for our u/s to hopefully find out the sex of the baby. I also have my daughters 24mo check up that same day so it's going to be a long afternoon at the hospital lol I'll be crossing my fingers that she makes it through all 3 appointments without a melt down :)

I am 10 weeks and 3 days today. Two days ago, we got to hear our baby's heartbeat. I was warned that we probably wouldn't hear it, but three seconds in, that heart beat was loud and clear. About 160 bpm. Every time my husband would try to get a video of it, the baby would move. lol. On the 13th, we actually get to see our baby. Anyone else have any news from their doctor visits?
