I plan to work out daily no matter how small the movements and take on January without eating red meat of any sort.

I have started to get lazy and the cold weather here does NOT help. I plan on getting up and moving, either a workout video or a jog 4 times a week. I also need to be COMPLETELY honest with myself when it comes to what I eat. I took a TSH test for my thyroid and it came back normal, but people are telling me that that isn't always right, so I also have to have a food diary to show my doctor.

Great attitude, Annarue.

I've been trying to stay positive about all this but lately I've been getting a little discouraged watching that stupid scale fluctuate.

Persistance will pay off...as long as I keep my willpower in check and watch what I'm doing.

Of all things, I bought prunes yesterday, for obvious reasons; irregularity is a big problem with me. I figured I'd try this strategy and see if that will help along with other healthier snacks with added fiber.

We shall see....

After a couple of years at 175lbs i have started to eat worse, exercise less, and gain weight. I am now at 187lbs. For right now my goal is just to track my food and lose that 12 pounds before it gets to 112 lbs. I have tried everything over the years to lose weight and at age 50 have finally managed it. I refuse to let this slip through my fingers.

I've noticed it took me 6 months to get out of the 240's down to the 230's and now I'm stuck between 231-234...AAAGH!

But...persistance will pay off and with all these mini challenges and Wellness at Work...I keep moving and changing things up. Something's gotta give, right?!

I hear ya. The biggest challenge is perhaps to do what we need to do to be healthy and then let the chips fall. Though sometimes it's hard not to - obsessing about progress is never a good thing.

good job Liz!!
we're getting a Wii after the first of the year.

We bought the house we were after and have moved in.

Work has the Wellness at Work going again and I've been doing some type of cardio 7 days a week for 30 min a day. I've logged in all my fitness onto my tracker since 9/24. Can't believe I've been that active and still haven't gotten to my goals! LOL

I know... I've been taking more in than I've been expending but... I'm not on the Biggest Loser and training 6-8 hours a day. 30 min a day only goes so far.

I have started walking with my husband for a half hour, and added a half hour of step aerobics on the Wii. I hope to make this a habit. I really need the exercise.

haven't posted and I'm sorry...things have been hectic and I'm forgetful at times.

from 9/25 thru 10/25 I've done at least 30 min/1x a day of some kind of cardio -4 days out of that time frame.

would love to hear from the rest of ya'll to see what all's been going on...

Fri 9/25 -- 4 hrs lugging boxes and furniture on/off U-Haul

Sat 9/26 -- 6.5 hrs lugging boxes/furniture on/off U-Haul

Sun 9/27 -- 5 hrs moving/unpacking boxes, setting up kitchen

Mon 9/28 -- 4 hrs moving/unpacking boxes, setting up kitchen and taking boxes out to garage for yard sale later on.

Tues 9/29 -- 8.5 hrs cleaning trailer to turn keys back in to landlord. (scrubbing walls, ceilings, ceiling fans, kitchen, etc)

Wed 9/30 -- 2 hrs hanging miniblinds

Thurs 10/1 -- 2 hrs weeding out garden at new house, 30 min washing 4 dogs.

whew! time for a break??
PS - I lost 6.6 lbs since Fri!!

My goal is to take the dogs on a four kilometres tour each day. I have done it for a moth or so and by now the dogs expect it and starts fjumping up and down in the morning until we go...

Not exercising per se but:

Friday 9/11: 3 hours scrubbing walls and molding

Sat 9/12: 2 hours sweeping, mopping and cleaning windows

Sun: rested

Mon 9/14: 3 hours painting living room and hallway

Tues 9/15: 5 hours painting 3 bedrooms and started on kitchen cabinets

Wed 9/16: 7 hours finishing kitchen cabinets, doors and countertops

emoticon emoticon my whole body aches!!

Well, I guess we're all slackers. I was in Florida for a week. I will get back into walking. I really need the exercise because weight loss has slowed to a crawl.

I commit to do 30 min of exercise (DVD) or walk 1 hour -- 4 times a week.

Will post on the days I complete.

Yesterday I met my goal - I walked for 1 hour in two half-hour stints. Today, I did the Wii for for 30 minutes - 20 of yoga and 10 of aerobics. This met my goal as well. emoticon

I plan to eat three healthy meals a day.

Starting Monday I'll be exercising 30 minutes a day at least 5 days a week.

If hunger isn't the problem, food isn't the answer.

Post the challenge you set up for yourself and report your progress here. For me, I commit to do either 1/2 hour of Wii Fit or 1 hour of walking per day.
