embarrassingly low goal? you're doing the hard work of losing weight and getting stronger! don't apologize for that!

I lost just 30 pounds, and I can handle much longer workouts now than I could when I was heavier, but when I carry a 30+ pound backpack around, it reminds me how much harder it was when my body itself had all that extra weight to move.

yay for steady, consistent workouts - everyone should be so tough.

so baby steps here since I am just begin here in march and I am so out of shape I can only walk at this point. I am posting my embarrassingly low goal here.

43 weeks left in the year
5 mile a week is my goal (1 mile a day)
That puts me at 215 mile for this year.

Goal for weight loss originally 93. Lbs
I have lost 18 lbs so far
Leaving 75 but for this year if I can lose 37.5 (half of it) that is less than a pound a week.

if there are any other newbies out their that need someone to encourage and challenge them please message me

I hit my 2013 mileage goal. I made it over 1000 miles for the first time. With winter and a busier schedule, my running has dropped off a bit since. Only 20 miles (plus biking, skiing, and walking) in Janury. Hitting 1,000 was satisfying and rewarding, but it kind of required a relentlessness bordering on obsession. I want to get back out there and get the miles in, but I am deliberately not setting a high specific mileage target at this point.

It is already Feb and I have not really formulated new goals for the year. I think I will work in more cross training and plan to do a triathlon or two this summer? There is a nice triathlon here at West Point in August, as well as a few 5 to 10k running races.

My first half is this year. The real challenge for me is keeping myself moving in the winter when it's cold and icy outside so that I haven't lost my base come the spring thaw. So I'm jumping rope and ice skating...

Everything Gradual and Gentle my ultimate goal is to be able to Hike again.

Total Distance Goal=1,000 Miles
Total Weight Loss=35lbs
