Didn't post yesterday but I did complete my workout. I was going to bail because it was so late in the evening but I got my lazy but up and did it. (Not like I had to go to work the next day.) Completed Dirty 30 just now. Gotta say I didn't miss it when my dvd was jacked up but now that I have the new one, I'm back at it! lol It came in the nick of time.

I've decided that even though my weight loss is slow going, I don't care. I will go by how my clothing fit and by the inches lost at this point. But because I don't see the weight loss, doesn't mean something isn't working and it's not an option to quit, eva!!!

Christina - Glad you could check in! Sound like a busy lady!!! That's a workout in itself! Summer is a busy time and hard to get to the computer at times. I can't wait for my vacation come August. You won't see me here until I get back!!! I am disconnecting from all technology!!! lol

good morning ladies

I have been super busy ... I worked some extra days for a girl on vacation and then I took the great niece to see " How to train your Dragon 2 " and it is AWESOME !! I honestly can say I liked it even better than the first !! VERY cute and sweet and funny movie !! It did say it was in 2D and I am not sure what that was but it was not like 3 D for sure !

My diet has fell by the wayside and I am running and summer is always my tough time and then sunday evening we have a homemade ice cream super after worship !!
I am sorry haven;t been on here too much ... trying to do some things around the house

Last weekend weather was nice and finally powered washed the porch and vinyl siding... I think un "housed" about 1000 spiders and maybe more wasps !! Then I sprayed down everything after it dried with bug spray ! It looks great but now I want to wash windows !!
LOL ... its always something !

keep on keepin on ladies

Anna - LOL

I definitely wouldn't say you are under employed, more like over employed, you're just not getting paid for it!!! Man! I got tired just reading all you do! I'd be surprised if you could actually fit a part-time job in let alone a full-time job. Maybe if you get a full-time, he'll actually see all that you do when other stuff starts falling by the wayside because it will!

Tell him, his quilt will get done the day you get your sewing room back! lol Or you could start dumping stuff. hee hee That's what I do and he doesn't have a clue. I hate clutter!!! Anywhere! emoticon

Well tonight's workout has also been completed. My left knee has been hurting a little all day, why I don't know but I pushed through it regardless. I refuse to give up and I ain't modifying! Humph! lol Was on point with my food intake for the day.

Denise, I wish it was. Currently I am underemployed. I am Pastor's wife and personal secretary, mother (2 beautiful daughters in one at university / other home taking community college class for the summer then back to university), housekeeper, church bookkeeper, Sunday school teacher/ president, local Missions president (I sort all food and clothing donations and distribute them) , church statistician, chauffeur, chief cook (both home and church events), and sell Pampered Chef in my spare time. All the remodeling is just extra that DH sees as ministry to our family and flock. (I see it as practice for when we eventually get our own home.) I only get paid for the Pampered Chef.

I think I forgot a few in the list. DH really wants me to get a full or even part time job besides, but then who would do all that I do right now? Not him, he's too busy as it is and keeps me hopping as well. Can't stop chauffeuring until we get the second vehicle back on the road and DD gets her license or goes back to university.

And he wonders why I don't have his quilt done.( HE picked out the pattern 25 years ago ADVANCED PIECING SKILLS NEEDED, I searched for the pattern for about 8 years before I decided I would have to draft it myself, I started collecting fabrics about 15 years ago, and still am looking for a few to do the sashings with, started actual work on it about the time a tornado hit our town 7 years ago and we had to box up the entire house so repairs could be done on west end of the house, and can't find everything for it now, since MY sewing room is now his favorite storage room- anything in the house he doesn't know where to put he sends it upstairs with one of the girls to my sewing room, don't think he has set foot in it in 5-6 years so he doesn't realize how little room I have to turn around in it.)

Enough venting! emoticon

Hope everyone has a good day.

Karen - I haven't seen any frozen meals lately at Costco. The ones they did have weren't all that great to me. But you have to remember that all Costco's aren't the same so what's at your store isn't necessarily at my store. I feel that some Costco's are better than some.

Anna - you are one busy lady! You help a lot with remodeling it seems. Is that your job?

Completed my workout this evening and I gotta say it is hard getting back in the grove once you've stopped. But hopefully, I'll make it through without any sicknesses! lol I was sweatin something fierce this time around but it is hot here!

I didn't get a chance to prep my meals yesterday because I was just tired after the trip to Costco then of course having to put everything away. But my food is ready for the rest of this week. I had bought some individual salads last week and I'll be taking those to work. So my protein, dressing and salad is all ready. I prepped fruit, nuts, tuna salad, crackers and more veggies to get me through the week. So I'm all set! See everyone tomorrow! Have a great one!

Had a busy weekend. Got a call Saturday am a friend needed help with housework / painting, spent about 8 hours at their house cleaning and painting cupboards and trying to keep their 9 year-old out of trouble (she wanted to paint and has no common sense when it comes to things that she wants to do- "sounds like fun I'll do it now and ask questions later"- green hand prints on bathroom vanity doors, her 16 year-old sister was painting the bathroom door at the time) Obviously we weren't too successful on that task.

How is everyone doing!!! I had a great 4th, got to see a lot of fire works!

I haven't been doing the 2nd round like I should. Wasn't feeling well last week but I'm ready to get this party started come Monday. I'll be on my way to Costco today so that I can get all my foods ready. So I'll start fresh with everyone on the round!

Recently, I started taking a probotic supplement and I really haven't had a appetite! Or should I say, I don't have the gnawing hunger where I want to go crazy and eat a ton of food! lol They say health starts in the gut and I'm beginning to believe it! lol I think I'm loving this supplement and I feel it can only get better with the program!

I am ready to rock and roll!!! Baby!!! lol

Another thing! My second dvd of the program has finally shipped after I had to contact them about it and told them they where on were basically on my bad list! LOL But it's all good!

Welcome classy Karen!
Considering potatoes, corn and peas are on the vegetables list, I'm pretty sure Lima Beans are on the list as well. Just be sure your serving / portion sizes are not too large.

Welcome back Christine, was beginning to wonder what was up.

Had a dinner again after morning service today. Ate way more than I intended but still was only about 100 calories over my range for the entire day. Not bad for a Sunday.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Taking DH to work, waiting at McD while broken rear window is replaced, then go home get a short rest before taking DD2 to school and pick DH up from work, take him home so he can be picked up for softball, go back and pick up DD2 and take her to work, and possibly pick her up from work. I may even need to go to the ball game -last week the kid that is taking DH had to leave early to go to work.

I hate driving that much, especially when it's not even really for me.

Hello new friends. The Book the simple diet is sold out all over in my area of Florida. I think I am going to like this plan. I put real vanilla in my shake and Flax. Will be going to Costco to stock up on diet frozen foods and frozen vegetables. Does anyone know if Lima beans are on the vegetable list? I am not a big lover of the veggies. My weight is at the critical level so I really have to work this I am actually avoiding my doctor so I do not get yelled at. But since using the shakes and low carb food I have lost 6 pounds. emoticon

Dirty 30 done! Well, what I could do of it. It freezes in the end but now I know the last two exercises that need to be done so I can get my timer out and do them until I get the replacement dvd.

Well, today I cleaned the kitchen, living room, garage, straightened up my room, cleaned the bathroom, did my workout; now I need to take a shower, wash two loads of clothes and run to the store. lol So that is what my day consists of. Then I'll need to prep my foods and get ready for the work week. It never ends but it's got to be done.

Just finished Cardio Fix. I still haven't received my new dvd or confirmation that it is coming. (And it's been a week. 24-48 hours has come and gone.) May have to contact beachbody again because I don't like that! lol I am just as important as that new order they may be filling and I will definitely let them know that. They messin' with the wrong girl! emoticon

The dvd works somewhat in the computer (go figure) but it still has its issues.

I haven't been true to the eating part this week. Went out to lunch a couple of times. One for a birthday but I'll be prepping again this weekend. And getting back on track. But I'm definitely not going to beat myself up over it.

Hope everyone is doing okay. And have a great weekend!emoticon

I was hungry and all they had was Manwich sloppy Joes and chips. Rarely eat Manwich cause it upsets my stomach (can't do the peppers in it), so chips was the main course.

It didn't do too much damage, I still lost almost a pound this week.

Hoping for 2# next week.

Anna! lol You can do it! Walk by those darn chips! :-) You are going to have to make yourself bags of healthy veggies so when you have to run out and do things, you can just grab and go. I've been doing it for the past four weeks and it is so convenient!

Christina - Even though you did eat some not so good stuff, you probably lost the half pound because you were finally able to rest! Getting enough sleep also helps with weight loss. You might like 21 day fix. Just remember it is NOT as hard as Jillian but I think adding the eating program also helps with the weight loss.

Well, I've finished the first round. I didn't do three days of it because my second dvd is jacked up from being stuck in the player. Then it got stuck in another player. Makes me wonder if it was the dvd after-all. But at any rate, beachbody is suppose to be sending me another replacement. So, I lost 4.6 lbs. and 8 inches overall. I am happy with the results. I have to remember I don't lose like when I was in my 20 twenties. So if I lose around 5 lbs. a round, I'll be happy with that. I plan on doing four rounds before my vacation at the end of August. I started the second round on Monday. I think I'll do two rounds and then post pictures. I did take before so I'll have something to judge the second rounds on.

Well tomorrow is weigh in and it doesn't look good. I was doing quite well until we went to a youth group leaders meeting last night. Sloppy Joes and chips..... not a veggie in sight,(unless you count the personal bag of mini carrots the woman next to DH brought- she said her doctor said "lose weight or go on insulin sooner than later", she doesn't look all that heavy- maybe 30 or 40# overweight)
All those chips, all that salt! The water will eventually go away, but in time for weigh in -I DON'T THINK SO!

I will have to get the will power back. I can walk by chips, I can walk by chips, I WILL WALK BY CHIPS!

I will be taking the food to the next meeting so it will be more diet friendly. Lots of freggies!

Home after 3 days of bad eating and driving too much. I did walk a lot though. Back to eating according to plan and working out. Will have to do some extra time on the elliptical because there is no telling how many calories I ate, I don't even know what half of it was called to try to track it properly.

On college campus with girl from the youth group. Walking a lot. Eating terribly.

Downpour here yesterday, spent the afternoon in air conditioning, actually was too cold for me, but outside was too hot.
Feel like I'm coming down with something, may be an allergy to the pollen here or possibly the tea I had yesterday, not the normal Earl Grey I am used to, it left my mouth feeling funny. Now my throat is sort of itchy, dry, almost sore. Hope I didn't pick up a cold.

Resting, listening to new music on YouTube. Will have to head out soon to attend another session.

Hello ladies....

Thanks Denise for the encouraging words ! I am so loving that you like this 21 day fix program... I may give it a whirl before too long ?? It may be what I need to get myself going...

well ladies I lost 1/2 pd and I definitely DO not know how ??? I have not exercised but I have rested and I've eaten VERY badly however ... I did do the 16 hour fast a couple of days... but I ate badly... evidently my body likes that ???May have just " shook " it up a bit ??? Its pretty rough getting my coffee at noon .. LOL !! It was my DH 's birthday so we went to an expensive restaurant for his Bday and of course I had cake !! Only one slice but that WAS enough !! I have been " craving " chocolate lately and I bought the new fiber one soft baked cookies in double chocolate and they are DEELISH ! they are 120 calories and large and individually wrapped ! YUM !!

ANNA - all that talk of sewing makes me think of fond memories of my granny ! she was the sweetest woman EVER and loved to sew... while I was growing up she made a lot of my sunday dresses and school clothes ! I have lots of her quilts with pieces from my clothes also ! My mom sewed too but I never developed the love for it... not enough patience !!!

MY DH works all weekend and that's every third and I always get my diet going while he's not here... so I hope to get back to tracking this weekend !! woo hoo !!

hope you both are doing well

Christine

Lower Body Fix completed! Almost done with my first round! Still don't think I've lost anymore but I do have until Sunday to weigh-in so I'll be patient!!! lol I'm definitely losing inches cause I keep looking at myself in the mirror. hee hee

Christina - Glad you took some days off to chill out! You'll get back to it eventually. I'll be going to Texas, end of August so I know all about the humidity. Probably won't go out until night fall. :-) Your husband is okay in my book! lol It wasn't actually a marathon though. But it's more episodes than they normally play! Thank goodness we have Netflix. They have ALL the episodes there! So if I start fiendin', I can always go there.

Anna - I love to sew. Haven't done it in a while though. I made some black curtains and a duvet cover last year. And that was enough for me for a while. :-) Even though you haven't done any exercise, it's still on your mind so I know you'll get back to it eventually.

I don't really expect things to slow down until next week.

Hopefully when DD#1 comes home for a few days it won't be quite so busy here.

DD#2 had her first day on the job today. Her boss told me she did quite well. Her first credit card sale the card had "see ID" on the back and she noticed it and asked for an ID- good job girl!

I to have lost most of my mojo -whatever that is. Hardly exercising for the last 2 weeks or so. Hardly eating any freggies. At least I've been tracking my food after the fact and know that except for 1 or 2 days I've kept under 2000 calories. A little above my goal range, but not too bad.

I've been spending too much time on eBay. Only bought a couple sewing patterns. I've gotten the urge to sew again and don't have very many patterns to chose from in my current size, and none in the style I've been thinking about. I've been planning my new dress for a couple of Christmas parties that we will be going to. And while I'm at it I'm thinking about making dresses for my great nieces. My niece (older brother's only daughter) is taking in a new foster daughter (7 years old) and I thought it would be a nice welcome to the family would be to make a set of similar dresses for the niece's daughter (about 9) and the new foster daughter. I've been checking out the utsav site advertised here and love some of their dresses and am planning something similar to some I've been looking at. My girls never feel comfortable in a dress unless they have shorts or leggings under it and all the dresses at utsav have some form of pants under them, I think many of them are quite cute. (Maybe it's the fact we have quite a large Indian population around here and I've seen a few people wearing similar outfits I've even seen one woman wearing a sari-they are quite beautiful, but too much like a costume to be practical)

This has had me thinking/ researching/ dreaming when I really should be doing things like walking, housework, cooking, etc., etc., etc.......

Got to get busy again working out, planning meals, cleaning, etc....

I will get back on track.

Sounds like my DH and laundry. He's been banned from the laundry room for years! If it's not washing wool sweaters in hot water(Christmas presents that we had worn only once or twice), or putting 6-8 sweaters in one load to pick up fuzz from each, it's putting bleach in with cotton sweatshirts (bright green with white dots now, souvenirs from our 45 min layover in Ireland) other. "Every load needs a splash of bleach to sanitize it."

NOT!

There are just certain things that it is better if I do them myself.

I don't like men...I am so annoyed with this one right now. He tires to put in a dvd in the tv/dvd combo player. Now, if it's not going in, what the hell, could it be that another dvd is in there already? Hello! Now that dvd is stuck! My friggin workout dvd! I am so not liking him right now. It seems that he is a shleprock! Seem like anything he touches turns to coal, not gold! Grrrrrrr!!!

Anna - I may have to try a filter or get it at the store. Thanks for letting me know. I know when I go to Oxnard, CA I definitely can't drink the water there. It even smells vile!

Just completed Cardio Fix. It wasn't so bad considering my tummy is still in turmoil. lol But it didn't hurt as much so maybe it did need some shakin up!

Tomorrow is Dirty 30 and Yoga and weigh-in day! Yipppeeee!!!! Have I said lately, how much I'm loving this program! lol

Denise, it could be the water. I have had to double filter all tap water I drink for the last 4-5 years at least, and if I go out to eat I can only have 1 glass of water/ soda/ tea or I remember why the next day. My doctor doesn't know what it is in the water that doesn't agree with me, I just know that if anyone makes anything using local city water ( even 2 cities away) I can't drink it. Well water from 10 miles away doesn't seem to bother me. We have a filter in our fridge and I take that water and put it through a Brita as well.

Ugh! My stomach is still bothering me. To the point that I could not workout yesterday. But I was able to clean the house. I thought maybe it needed a good cleaning. I hate a jacked up house and maybe my stomach feels the same way too! lol

As for staying on the food plan it hasn't been successful. I don't want to eat because my stomach says, no!!! But I do force myself to eat. Soup is my best friend right now. I am still losing weight though but considering that I can't really eat, I guess so! lol

But I do plan on playing catchup so that I can be on track for the new week. I'm on the last week of my first round and refuse to give up! Not a option! I plan on doing Cardio Fix today and tomorrow, I will do Dirty 30 and Yoga Fix simultaneously. Maybe my stomach needs some stretching...hee hee

Completed Lower Fix and man I really don't like fire hydrants! lol So painful. So glad it's only a bonus round and you don't have to do two sets! This time I started with the my right leg and was able to complete both sides this time. I know that is strange but it seemed to work for me.

Have not eaten all my foods for the day. My stomach has been upset all day and I was afraid to eat much of anything. I think it's the protein drink I have in the morning. I stopped using the one by beachbody and used one that I've had in the past and same thing happened. So I give up for a while. I'll find something else for breakfast!

Anna - You did the best that you could with your time constraints.

I forgot about the floor. It isn't perfect, but it is about 1000% better than it was when we started. If we had more time and she was going to stay in the house we would have taken about twice as much time on it, but it is an OLD house and has settled a lot except for right in front of the cabinets so the floor slopes away from them, but like I said it looks a LOT better. The house still isn't done but we aren't going back for at least a couple more weeks because we have stuff to do here.

Reports filed online about 3 hours before the deadlines. Hope they were done right, if not, oh well.

Got DD enrolled in local Community College, retaking class she dropped at the last minute last fall. Took about 5 days and 3 phone calls(make that 4 calls, 3 emails, one electronically submitted waiver request and a bunch of red tape ) to get her enrolled as a guest student and signed up for the class. Finished enough of everything 2.5 hours before first class session yesterday. Still wasn't able to do online orientation, and no student ID but she is on the class roster today, (YES!) must have done enough of the process, will try to finish orientation this weekend if it will let her onto the site. Still have to get a text book $170- they want 4th edition and the book her university uses is 7th edition same author . Her book is too new? Also have to find a better graphing calculator, our Walmart had the wrong brand.

Finally have 2 cars again so I don't have to take DH to work so I can have the car/truck.

Got a phone call this morning my mother will be here in time for lunch Thursday. It's a 4 hour drive. She didn't say if she intended to stay. She hasn't spent more than an hour here at a time in about 6 or 7 years. We talked last week and I thought I talked her out of it, my house is a mess, nowhere for her to sleep except the couch (DH said she could have our bed, reminded him I have a bit of trouble climbing into it and she is 3-4 inches shorter than me). I have too much to get done to make the house presentable and haven't had the time to do much of it. I told her I would be up to visit her soon. Well I guess I'll be extra busy and up late working at least on the living room and bathroom tomorrow (between taking a friend to social security office to help her understand what they tell her, and taking DD to class and picking her up afterward won't get much done during the day) .

Walked about 1.5 -2 miles last night while DH & DD played softball. (self defense- trying to keep the bugs away- didn't work to well)

Hope everyone's week is less stressful than mine.

Total Body Cardio Fix is out the way for the week! Seemed to be a little harder this time around but I seem to be doing surrenders a lot better. Now to prep all my meals.

Christine - The yoga wasn't too bad. I did do some of the modifiers but it was still a good stretch. I don't like all those downward dogs that's for sure but even it had a modifier and I did some of the regular and some modified.

Completed the Yoga Fix, just now. Unfortunately I have company and was not going to do it but then I said, what the hell! This is my domain and I did it because it sure was weighing on my brain! lol

I still have to prep all my food for next week but luckily I had to take some vacation days so I'll get at it tomorrow.

Down 4.6 lbs for this week! Two more weeks to go! Yes! I can't wait! I am giddy with happiness! lol

Hi Christine - Yes, this is my first week. Well my second but I had to bail when I got sick so I started over. Yep! That is why I went ahead a bought the program because I needed something to get me started up again and it seems to be working!

The food is just regular food. I did cook this past week, and of course it has to be easy stuff. I cooked salmon patties, a whole chicken and sliders. I didn't do any pre-packaged meals although I guess you could do that. But I think the counting would be hard although some people make meals and count. I haven't figured that one out yet. I do want to make a baked Ziti and spaghetti so I'll have to figure it out eventually. :-) But my guess is that it would count as a veggie, protein, starch. hmmmm...I think i just figured it out! lol

I get 1,800 - 2,099 based on my calculations from the book. (Yeah, it seems like a lot but really isn't) Guess because it's more on the healthy side than processed.)

My meal plan is based on the containers. See below:

5 - Vegetables
3 - Fruits
5 - Protein
4 - Starch
1 - Nuts/Cheese
1 - Seeds/Dressing
5 - Healthy Oils

Target has color coded bags so I bought some and prep all my foods through the them except dressing of course and some proteins. (Can't see myself putting chicken in a bag. lol)

So my day would look like this:

Breakfast
Protein Shake, Fruit - this is all I can stomach in the mornings. (And of course coffee.)

Snack
Carrots, Turkey slices, Crackers

Lunch
Meat, Salad, Dressing, Couscous, Fruit

Snack
Carrots, Turkey slices, Crackers, Nuts

Dinner
Meat, Salad, Dressing, Brown Rice, Fruit

Some set it up to add a third snack but I'm cool with the plan above. (I may add another protein drink here if needed.) I don't seem to get all my healthy oils in but eventually.

Last night I didn't eat at all. I made a protein drink with a Kellogg's to go packet and a half of scoop of Vanilla Shakeology and I'll be darn, it got me full. As I'm typing now, I still have not eaten this morning!!! I am in shock! lol I just figured out a new protein drink! hee hee

Please note that the program also includes goodies and a dining out menu and wine. You would figure out how many containers it is for that treat. The eating plan lists how much. Ex: 4 oz of wine would be one of the Yellow containers.

I couldn't stay off the scale and I'm down a total of 4.6 lbs! Eeeeeeheeheeheehee!!! I am stoked!

On to do my Dirty 30 workout!!! I'm still going to come back and weigh-in tomorrow! lol

I just finished Cardio Fix. It was pretty intense. Glad I only have to do these workouts once in a week. Unlike Insanity, where you may do two of the same in a week. On to Dirty 30 tomorrow and Yoga on Sunday. Can't wait to do the yoga.

Recap for the week:
Saturday - Prepped all my meals for the week.
Sunday - Cooked a few dinners for the next week.
Monday - Started the workout, Total Body Cardio Fix (Let me say here that I am so glad I prepped all my meals. All I do is grab and go!)
Tuesday - Upper Fix completed
Wednesday - Lower Fix (Fire Hydrants are killer and it's only one set, thank goodness!)
Thursday - Pilates Fix - This is definitely a workout! But I'm not as sore as I was when I first started it the program. Doesn't mean it's not working though. (I do have a Plyo Fix that isn't in the rotation. Figure, if I stop seeing results, I'll put it in somewhere.) So far this week, I've lost around 2 lbs and 5 inches. I do tend to lose the inches first. But I still have two weeks to go to get through the first round.
Friday - Cardio Fix is tonight. - Have I said, I like that I prepped my meals! lol
Saturday - Dirty 30 - Some crazed Cardio workout. lol
Sunday - Yoga Fix - Have yet to try this one. Got sick when it was time to do it but I did watch it through and it doesn't look easy...lol

I am so excited to see how well I do at the end of this week. I will weigh-in on Sunday. I'll have two more weeks for final results. I did so much food prepping that I definitely need to see this through.

Anna, Christine - I don't know if I could do that diet. I guess 16 hours isn't bad but to not eat until noon...hmmmm don't think it's for me! lol I get Woman's World faithfully and don't recall seeing it although if it said something about fasting I probably brushed it aside.

Hope all have a great weekend! I'll check in on Sunday for my weigh-in!

anna- now that you say that I too ate more like that when I was younger and thinner ! I just thought it was because I was younger ??? since you seem interested and liked the ideal ... I will tell you that it was in a Woman's world magazine in the checkout line. They say it was based on a British craze after a book called Eat,Fast, Slim.by Amanda Hamilton. They are saying you get better blood sugar levels and reduces the amount of belly fat, and improved immunity. While the study was based on people who ate from 8 am to 4 pm ... there is another woman who did the same from 12 noon to 8 and dropped 4 dress sizes. The main thing is to do the 16 mini fast. They do say that fasting in general drops metabolism but when you do it short term( 16hrs) that it has a TOTALLY different effect ! The other big thing that interested me was the women ALL reported LOTS of ENERGY !! ever since menapause this has been an issue for me !

have a great friday
Christine

Christine, that sounds like the way I always ate before they told me I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy and I had to start eating breakfast regularly and also snacks. I went from about 145# (after Athens) to over 200#(after third pregnancy) doing it their way. Maybe I will try that again after I get the weight nearer my goal and see if my body can handle eating that way again.
The dietitian the Air Force had me see tried to get me to eat a big breakfast - eggs, meat, veggies. I can't do it makes me sick to have so much protein before noon. I can handle the shakes even with a little peanut butter for more protein, not eggs, they are for dinner.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I read a neat article on a new diet that was called the 8 hour diet and you fasted for 16 hours everyday ! it had some interesting ideals and reasons for it so I gave it a try this week also while doing and eating my usual foods. Its very hard to do while working I must say . It was just a way to get myself motivated and back in the swing !!

If you started at 7 am then you quit eating by 3
""" " """ " 8 am then " " " by 4
I usually tried to eat from noon to 8 pm ! Interesting enough they were right about NOT being hungry that much ... it did help with that but I drank TONS of water in the morning since I didn't start eating till noon !! LOL that was a good thing at least !!

Don't know that I will continue doing it but may use it occasionally ??

Hope everyone is doing alrigh

Hi everyone!

So the food poisoning episode is ova! Everyone is doing good once again.

I started on the 21 Day Fix food portion as well as the workouts again. I've prepped all my meals for the week and let me say it was a lot of prepping!!! I can say that I've had two great days so far. My problem will be the weekend. (I eat later in the day when it comes to the weekend and only around two meals. But I want to do the program the correct way so I'll have to force myself.) Can't wait until the three weeks are up. I hope to see some really good changes and the start another round. Some people are losing 15 lbs. in the three weeks and crazy amounts of inches. I don't expect to do that but I do want at least 10! lol

Christine - I have that problem at work too! I don't know what to do to fix that. We have meetings here and sometimes they will have leftover donuts. Man! They are tempting. But now that I've started up this program, I don't want to slip because that was a lot of food prepping I did for the week and to blow it now, is not an option. I would be so disappointed in myself. I am allowed some treats so I've brought some Special K bars in to work. Not as good as one of those donuts but it will help.

Anna - You are gonna have to slow down. You need time for yourself too!

Hi everyone !!

I have made it two days with tracking and doing well and then third day ... BAM !! I went to work and made it through 1/2 a day and then went nuts !! something about work wants to make me tend to .... uh ... reward myself with food.... still trying to figure out HOW to break that !! ??? I must learn that rewarding myself with food is NOT A REWARD AT ALL !!

Denise - so sorry for the food poisoning ! WOW !! I have not thrown up that many times in my life and its a sign I am VERY sick if I do !! Hope you are feeling better and getting back to your regular routine soon !!

ANNA - wow..... between your book keeping and all the wonderful things you do for your family and Church you are so so very busy !! I hope things slow down for you and don't stress over your workout routine.... you are only human and can do only SO much ! sure you need time for yourself but if you don't have it then well .... YOU DON"T !! We women try to do too much sometimes and that's how we guilt ourselves and then I for one... well turn to food !! Just tell yourself .... I am doing the best I can for now and that's all the hours I have in a day !! This is the most urgent so this is what I can do now ! Hugs my friend !! ((((((((( anna)))))))))

I am going to start back tracking today and then I work on wednesday and I shall give myself a good talking to about the " food reward" !! !

Keep on keeping on
Christine

Hi everyone,
Denise, hope everyone is feeling lots better.

I have been so busy I've barely had time to exercise this last week, only got in one day of running. I must, must, must make time for exercise this week and not just today. We didn't get much done at SIL's this past weekend (floor in much worse shape than expected, then nephew broke a water pipe and it had to be fixed) so DH is planning to go to SIL's 3 days this week instead of just Friday night and Saturday, that will really make it rough to schedule my workouts. I don't think being DH's gopher counts.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, have a good week.

Hey! Everyone! I've kinda been outta commission this past week. All of us got food poisoning last weekend! It was awful! It felt like the flu but I really didn't have a fever. My stomach was churning something fierce. Three o'clock in the morning I up chucked! ugh! It was nothing nice. I feel better but not totally well. Needless to say I had to stop my program. But I'll be starting it up again come Monday. Don't care how I feel! lol I want to complete the program.

Christine - I pretty much bought the 21 Day Fix program for the workouts. I needed something different but not so crazy as Jillian's workout. (I do plan on revisiting Jillian's in the future though.) I like that these last 30 minutes and they are intense but I don't have to contort my body to get in the positions like Jillian's. I do plan on incorporating the containers; figure since I have them might as well use them. The containers are pretty much measuring devices. I plan on fixing all my meals through them because I can't see myself measuring out each meal per day with them. I would totally throw those things away if I had to do that.

I need to start tracking my foods again too but I don't think I could do it through Sparkpeople. Just seems like too much work. I do like the sheet where you check off meals as you go along so I'll start doing that again.

Anna - That is a great idea doing your garden in containers. I've always wanted to do a herb garden but never got around to do them!

hey all emoticon

sorry I have not been on here. ! I have been so out of sorts after vacation My niece came for a week visit from south GA and I have eaten out so much lately that I have GOT to get some control back ! It usually takes me two weeks after vacay and now I've sorta had two weeks of vacay !! OOPSIE !!

Denise - I had NEVER heard of the 21 day fix and then I saw an infomercial on it after that so I watched it ! Looks interesting .... are you going to follow the food program ? I saw its lots of little containers instead of measuring !! Let me know how you like it .... ok ? I would like the different DVD's for variety I think ???

Anna - I have never done container gardening but I think it would be great and if there's less weeds than I am ALL for that for SURE !!! I love fresh veggies in the summer . I am looking forward to some. I will have to buy mine at the farmers market. We have VBS coming up in June and then I work a week for another girl going on vacay in JULY and lots of things in the summer !!

I hope to start tracking my food this week...... keep me accountable someone ??

keep on keepin on

Spent all day yesterday either at the parade in the town where DD's graduated, at the store shopping for my container garden, or working on my garden. Can't take the heat so I decided I will just have a raised 4ft by 4ft garden for me to take care of this year. DH planted corn, carrots and cukes for him and DD#2 to care for. I have tomatoes and peppers, plus radishes and lettuce in a pot on the porch . Hope to get enough for Greek salads and to can a bit of relish, I usually do 1 or 2 half batches every other year and I'm about out so it's time to plant again. Mom's recipe does 9 quarts and I just don't use it fast enough to make it in quarts and my canner only does 7 pints at a time.

Denise, that's the way to keep from skipping a workout!

Went shopping in our favorite small grocery / meat market today and saw they are hiring, asked for an application for our 19 year old. A few minutes later we were talking with the owners wife and she said they were looking for someone with experience DH was saying he had all the experience she was listing, but he already has a good job, I mentioned that I had a bit of experience with cash registers and fronting stock, etc. and her eyes lit up and she about begged me to apply for the job. I don't know how I will find the time to do it on top of all my duties at the church, but we do need the money (2 girls in college is really taxing on our finances). So I guess Tuesday I will be turning in a job application to work there. It's been about 8 years since I had a regular job other than babysitting. Hopefully I will be able to stand long enough, at my last job I frequently did 4-6 hour shifts but rarely could I make it through a longer one without my hip complaining a lot.

Got a foam roller to see if it will help a bit. DD swears by them, they use them in the college all the time for tight and strained muscles.

Completed Dirty 30 baby!!! lol Got it done and out the way. Tomorrow is yoga. Don't know how much of a break that will be, because getting in those positions is gonna be crazy! But I'll be doing it! :-) I watched it and it seems like a long workout although it is only 30 minutes. lol

And of course completed yesterday's workout. I wanted to blow it off but then I got to thinking, Denise, it's only 30 minutes! and 21 days! You can do this, so I did. lol

ANAKIE - Great job! Keep up the good work!

Almost done with my 8 week 5k rookie running program. It's been what 13 or 14 weeks? Plan to do probably 2 more weeks just don't think I can go from walking one minute out of every 5 to straight running for over 3 miles.

My whole workout including warm up and cool down was over 5 miles! They don't tell you how long to cool down but I did 20 min cool down today, I NEEDED IT. Still need to do my fitness tests from the BL Challenge will try to do them later today.

ANAKIE - That is a great loss! And you see it adds up! So 20 lbs. down is awesome!

Man! This program is hurtful! I thought for sure the Pilates would stretch me out somewhat but heck it hurt too! But it's not gonna stop me from completing it, that's for sure! Oh my goodness!!! Cardio is tomorrow and the dreaded burpees are back! So glad it's only 30 minutes.

It's a beautiful day today! Went walking with my walking buddy today. They have made major changes at the school where we walk. They got rid of a bunch of dead trees, and flattened the resulting area. Looks like maybe a new parking area planned? We had a good talk. She had a lot of pain today so we walked a bit slower than usual but it was good to walk and talk.

Well the spring challenge for Biggest Loser Teams is over today. sigh I managed to lose another 7.2# in the 10 weeks. Not as much as I hoped for, but that takes me to 20# total lost so far.

Sorry I haven't been around lately. Just been busy. Leaving work later and just don't want to get on the computer.

Michelle - Yes, the program is the one with the meal plan/containers. I basically bought it for the workouts though. I just needed something new. I am thinking about incorporating the containers but still want it to be based on the Simple Diet. So I need to work on that.

Christine - Glad you're back! 1500 miles is a killer!!! Ya need to rest for a bit!

Went to the Casino for my massage this past weekend and it was oooh soooo good!!! Next time I'll be doing the 80 minute version, that is how good it felt! I had the deep tissue massage. She asked if the pressure was too hard; humph! not by a long shot! lol Then some friends rented two cabana's and we hung out there for the whole day. And swimming and just had a great time.

I started the 21 Day Fix Program from BeachBody this week. It's a little harder that Turbo Jam but much less intense than Insanity. I think I'm going to like it. So since I started, I'm in three days now, I can't stop for 21 days which is fine by me. This will get me back to working out regularly.

Oh lordy!!! My biceps, triceps, armpits, abs, butt cheeks, thighs and calves hurt! And I think it's gonna be worse tomorrow because I just did the Lower Fix of the program! Ugh! But it's all good! lol Can't wait to see the results after two rounds!

Good afternoon everyone.

Just finished my big workout for the day. I did 2.7 miles on the elliptical. Considering I did over 5 miles yesterday and most of that running, today's was a light workout, but not doing much more today just a bit of arms later, maybe after church tonight.

Had a GOOD unofficial weigh in this morning, can't wait to see what tomorrow's official one is. Drinking a lot of plain water today to make sure I am not retaining water tomorrow.

Didn't have time to eat lunch today between Morning Worship and today's nursing home so talked DH into stopping at Aldi and found out they have at least 2 flavors of imitation-Atkins snack bars @ $3.99 a box! Woohoo! That's only 80 cents a bar. Got 2 boxes and ate one of the bars on the way to evening service. Not quite filling enough for what I wanted, but it kept me from eating way too much of the $5 pizza we got for dinner. Actually was able to keep my calories within my range today. Just didn't get enough veggies. I can live with that.

Hope everyone's day went well.

Anna

Hello ladies !!

I am back from my trip but we are having some out of town guests come for a visit so this will be crazy for sure ! We drove over 1500 miles this last week and I am so tired and totallyu feeling it !
I sure hope to get back in the groove but this week may be nuts so who knows ? It is what it is and I will just have to deal with it and move on !!
The place we stayed out did not have space for me to workout even though I DID take my DVD's and everything ! I did eat pretty decently through the day but we ate out EVERYDAY so I know it will be bad !!

ANNA - hope you are doing ok ..... you are hanging on and I am so proud of you !

Denise - I have not done my exercise for over a week now either !

Michelle - I too do the same thing ! ( after a big loss --- sort of relax) Its a silly thing and I 'm not sure why ???

Keep on keeping on ladies !
Christine

It's official, I lost another 1/2# this week! Just hope this weekend's trip to MIL's doesn't mess it up. Once again cake on the island and ice cream in the freezer just because we came.

Hi Ladies,

Well today is weigh in day... I admit, I am nervous. I don't want to see the scale go up :( But I know I haven't been doing my best the last, well... week. It's like my large weightloss last week, gave me a big head or something. I don't know... I cheated and weighed in alittle early on Monday night... and I was up 5 lbs (Boo!) - BUT I do notice my clothes fitting a little looser, so you can't always go by the #'s. My hope is that since this is the week my 'Aunt Flo' would come to visit... any gain and crazing cravings this week would be due to 'her' and then next week will be much better... especially if I actually try and get back on track.

I also have to start moving... I am with you Denise... nothing is enticing to me right now to get my butt-a-movin'. I was looking at that 21 day Fix... let me know how it goes. Is that the one with the Meal Plan and the Containers as well? I was going to do that... but I am just too lazy and find every excuse in the book other than to work out at home. It's horrible, but I need to go out to work out... guess it somehow holds me accountable. Oh well.

ANAKIE, that's awesome that your losing even with your little splurges. Keep it up! emoticon

Well Happy Hump Day ladies... let's all get real and start over! Wish me luck later (fingers crossed!)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

~Michelle

Took a couple days off from working out and am really suffering today, but I will get back to where I was before this weekend.

The only good thing about this last weekend is for some reason I'm losing again. Maybe I needed the extra calories and time off....

I definitely blew it on Mother's Day too! But I think I threw the diet out the window when my honey took me out to eat on Sunday but I'm back on track as of today.

I'm still eating my low-carb way but I'm just having a hard time starting back with the workouts. I did place a order for the 21 Day Fix Program at beachbody. I feel I need a new program to get my rear in gear. So when it comes in I'll be starting up with the workouts again. Just feel exhausted in the evening but I know once I force myself to workout again it will get better.

Liberty - You are going to be one busy lady! Bartending sounds like fun! Ain't nothin wrong with singin in the church band! lol Who knows, if you make it, you can practice there and maybe one day join a band! :-)

Good Morning Ladies,

Happy Belated Mother's Day to the mommies out there!!!
I had a wonderful weekend... Mother's Day was pretty great too! I am with you ANAKIE... I didn't do so well this weekend either diet wise.... BUT, I didn't go completely back to my old ways... that's gotta account for something.... and I did track EVERYTHING! I am sure you didn't do THAT bad.... definitely not as bad as you used to way back when! :)

Friday started with McD's for Dinner, not wonderful, but not absolutely horrible either. Saturday I made some pancakes w/ flaxseed... and then we did Chinese food.... that was all, I may have nibbled on a cookie here and there too. Then yesterday we had a BBQ with all the goodness of BBQ and Mom's famous (Yummy) Potato Salad.... and then ice cream sundaes for dessert (love me some wet walnuts).... yea, I splurged! BUT all in all, I only had about 2100 cals yesterday... and less the other 'bad' days of the weekend. I am not too upset... and today I am full speed ahead. Bought some more shakes, including a GNC one... so we'll see how that tastes, it was a BOGO1/2 off deal... so I figured I would try it. Otherwise, I am munching on berries... my local supermarket had a BOGO sale this AM, so I stocked up.

Weigh in is Wednesday.... so maybe the next few GOOD days can help make up for my Oopsy's over the weekend!

On a side note, I started Bartender Training Saturday night, it's at our local VFW - so it's basically Volunteer work.... it was SO much fun! I am on again Memorial Day weekend, but alone this time!! I always wanted to learn to bartend... now I finally can mark this off my bucket list
emoticon
AND, I was approached by our Worship Leader at my church about Singing... that is another Bucket List thing, I always wanted to sing in a band... OK, so it's a church band, but still! So I have to practice a song and then 'audition'. I am nervous, but excited. Crazy huh!?

Hope you all are having a super Monday... no Monday blues here... Sun is shining and it's a new day.... time to get back on track. C'mon ladies... WE can do it!!!
emoticon emoticon

Went off diet big time this weekend. Well the dinner is over, most of the left overs are gone, will work harder this week to keep on track as much as possible.
Have a bit of boneless- skinless chicken left in the freezer, DH decided we bought more than we needed, glad he didn't use all of it now I can try a few recipes to be able to make my own low calorie entrées and maybe save a bit of money at the same time.

Hope everyone had a lower calorie weekend than I did.

Hi Everyone!
What a dismal day it is here (PA). Blah!! The kind of day you just want to crawl back into bed. Well, unfortunately off to work I must go. So I have some amazing news!!!!
Last night I had my 1st weigh in.... and despite all the 'off program' eating I did here and there..... I lost (drum roll, please...... ) 7 lbs!!!
emoticon
As you can probably tell, I was/am ecstatic. I know most was probably water weight, but all in all.... it's still weight! All that and without exercising. (Woot - woot) I can just imagine what will happen once I do get on some kind of exercising regimen.

Denise ~ That recipe sounds yummy. I actually made something similar (of course it was the real deal... it was Ree Drummonds recipe (pioneer woman)....) it was yummy, so I imagine this should be too. I have to get some of that powered shake mix... seems you can make even some decent different shake flavors. Anyone have any shake recipes they care to share. As of now, I buy premixed shakes... and I am loving my Chocolate Mint Slim Fast shakes right now, like I said before I just wish they were higher protein to keep me from being hungry longer.

I think I made a somewhat bad choice this AM for breakfast, fruit-wise.... I decided to have a Pear with my shake, my DH picked out this super big Anjou Pear... so I ate it... I entered it into SparkPeople and it shows that the pear alone was like 190 cals and 25 carbs, 1 protein..... what the heck?! Totally not worth the calories. I mean, yes it is yummy and sweet.... but not cool it's almost 200 cals and no real benefits other than being fruit. Dang it!!

Christine ~ I am doing good, how are you holding up - how was your weigh in?
Super excited for your adventure this weekend? Headed to Myrtle Beach, right?... I think that's what I read previously! Very cool! My DH and I went there to visit friends last Summer... it was fun. We were thinking of heading back this summer with the kids, but we'll see. Have a fabulous time!!!

Alright all... gotta get some work done. Keep up the good work ladies.... chat again later!
One more day til Friday!! Yay!!

All the Best,
Michelle

Didn't do a workout this evening nor last night. I'm having a hard time getting back in to it. I'm going to have to do a 30 day program in order to get started. Guess I can't just pick and choose a workout right now because it's easier for me to stop and start whereas if I do a program, I hate the idea of skipping so that is what I'll be thinking about this week and will start next Monday. I have started back on my eating program though.

Christine - You're probably right. I think I'm fine but who's to say something deeper is not happening. But eventually I'll get back on track.

Michele - You could try sugar-free jello and whip cream. That is suppose to be on the lower side when it comes to carbs. I know for a fact I'll have to find some type of treat eventually because this girl likes her sweets when I need them. :) Below is a recipe I want to try (because it is super easy) when I start feigning for chocolate! lol

This recipe is located at http://www.easylowcarbdesserts.com/categor
y/sweets/

Ingredients for the Chocolate Mint Mousse

• Heavy Cream / Whipping Cream-1.5 cups
• Whey Protein (chocolate)-3 scoops
• Mint Extract- as much as ½ tsf.

I love it when the ingredient list is short and sweet. If I have to hunt or shop for stuff, chances are I will not want to make it or eat it by the time I am done. However, getting on with the recipe.

This makes 8 servings. Each serving has:

• 190 Calories
• 1.9 grams net carbs
• 16.5 grams of fat.

How to Make a Chocolate Mint Mousse

1. Beat the cream until it starts thickening.
2. Add in the whey powder slowly till it is blended in.
3. Also add the mint extract.
4. Divide into portions and refrigerate.

That is it! You are done.

If anyone tries it let me know how it tastes although I think I may try it this weekend and if I do, I'll let everyone know how it tastes. emoticon

Jan I really do hope the tweaks work for you and you stay with us !! emoticon

anna - I hope your week is going well I do not think I will do the chopped challenge for the Limes !

Michelle ... I let myself have some 100 calorie sweet treats on occasion and also I can sometimes just eat a peppermint and that helps. I also like to savor a diet orange soda on occasion when I crave a sweet. I do not drink them any other time and so I treat them as a " treat " , even though I could have one anytime. I do not allow myself more than one 100 calorie treat a day though. I like the fiber one 90 calorie brownies and lemon bars. Or maybe 3 hershey's kisses ? Just a bite or two as long as they don't trigger more cravings ???? Find and try sugar free puddings and jello's and or sour things if you like those ??
Also as far as your diet , I think you are on the right path.. you are incorporating new healthier choices into your life and every little change will help. I did not start my exercise till I was on the diet for about 6 weeks. I got the eating part down pat first !! You will be and do fine !

I am trying to get some clothes ready and packed for vacation ... going through things. I have done my one hour of cardio for today. off to do some more clothes selection

Denise- I have missed you and I know the mental part of losing two people you love has got to have drained you !! You will find your groove and be back and strong again. Let your heart heal . !!

Christine

Jan, glad to hear you haven't given up on us. Your ideas sound like they might work. Let us know how it works.

Michelle, when I feel the need for some "guilty" pleasure, I eat one of the Atkins "chocolate coconut bars". They taste almost like a "mounds" bar, maybe not quite as sweet. 170 calories 12 grams fat, 9 g fiber, 3 net carbs, and 5 grams of protein. For me they work quite well. A little on the expensive side, but our local Meijer store carries a store brand that is cheaper and just as good. Count it as one of the bars allowed in the diet. I will sometimes eat one to help up my fiber intake as well.

Hi Everyone,
Denise, You have a point... if 5 out of 7 days I am good... then I should see some kind of progress - maybe not as fast, but still something. I will try not to be so hard on myself. :) Oh and thanks for the info on the shakes, I will see if we have them somewhere around here in rural PA.

So I didn't quite stick to the plan at home either. It's funny last night I felt like I was moreso on a Slim Fast diet than the Simple Diet. Only because I had shakes and fruits/veggies during the day and for dinner I had a sensible meal (Caprese Pasta... Yum! - again I checked my portions and wrote it all down). But I did snag a couple of Vienna Fingers... bad, bad, bad... I know. I don't know.. yesterday I was just craving cookies/sweet. And a fruit wasn't going to help it. Any suggestions for fighting those feelings? I guess tomorrow we shall see at my weigh in.

One thing is... I really haven't been working out at all. I have just been eating a little better... can you still get results without the exercise. I will exercise, but just haven't - I am going to be joining our local Y... hoping they have childcare available so I can actually workout without the excuse of the kids. I am going today to get the paperwork.

Thanks all - Happy Tuesday!! Here's to a Better day!
emoticon

** BTW, the pic of me is from when I was in my early twenties... I would love to get back to that weight. It's kind of my motivation pic.

Don't count me out yet!, ladies!

I'm trying to "nudge" the plan just a little bit to get rid of the headaches & add protein/fat (which I think will help with the headaches) mid-afternoon by finding a higher protein shake and/or adding cheese or other snack in the afternoon. I'm hoping I can do this without totally distorting the program.

I'm also re-reading the book (which I only skimmed through on the first go-around) to see if I can find the answers there!

I joined this team after lurking (sorry about that) & reading your posts for days, and I loved how positive the posts are & how supportive everyone is of one another. I still want to be a part of this!

Denise, I also have problems with carbs & want to keep them on the lower end of the recommended range while not doing away with them altogether.

Is starting over, each & every morning!

Anakie - Glad to be back. Thanks for the prayers!

Christine - I guess when someone tries the diet and they don't feel it's for them, then it's best they find something else that is a good fit. Won't stop us! I started the diet but I'm trying to do a low-carb version. Carbs just bring me down when I eat them so I don't know why I put myself through that torture. lol I did find a shake that has 5 grams of carbs and it doesn't taste bad at all. I bought a box at Costco.

Michele - I would say you did a good job for the week with your food choices. I figure if you stayed on plan for the whole week and went off on the weekend it's better than if you had blew it for the whole week. I bought some shakes from Costco called Premier Protein and they have 30 grams of protein. They also sell them other places. Here is their website: http://www.premierprotein.com/where-to-buy
/ or you could google it. As for caffeine, eh, some say it's good, some say bad. I drink two cups of caffeinated coffee everyday and I aint' stoppin! lol

I did my workout this evening and it took a lot of willpower to get through what is normally a easy workout. But I've to get back in to the groove of working out. And I guess it doesn't help much that since it's become so hot, I don't seem to be getting any sleep. I'm hoping tonight will be different because I'm exhausted.

Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday…. I am baaaaack  I guess that’s a good thing, right? LOL.
Well… my first few days on the diet were good, then the weekend struck. I just lack willpower sometimes as I didn’t stick to the 2 entrees/3 shakes/fruits/veggies guidelines…. BUT, I have to say even though I deviated, I did cut back quite a bit on portions and ‘tried’ to make better choices. Friday, my friend came over and they ordered Chinese…. I didn’t get a meal, I picked a little here, a little there.. on a small dish and I did write everything into SP.. I had under 2000 calories. Saturday I was better… but I did have a little left over Chinese for Dinner, again portioned out… cals for the day were better at 1255. And yesterday we went to dinner at a friends and I really was proud of myself… had mostly veggies (granted, they were salad, corn and mashed potatoes) but I didn’t fill up on the other things (total cals for the day 1659). I don’t know guys, it’s just so much easier to get it right during the week. Weekends are hard. But I don’t know… I still feel better. I guess that’s the point. So I have 3 more days until I weigh in and see if I lost anything… even with ‘cheating’. How are you all doing?

Question, I made kale & spinach chips… I used cooking spray and a dash of salt. They are really good and just about the only way I will eat kale. But does baking the kale make it lose its veggie benefits?

Lastly, I switched it up… I switched to Slim Fast shakes… the flavor is better (Chocolate Mint and Mocha ‘something’… which has caffeine, is that bad?) … they are lower in protein though (10g)… I would rather have something higher protein… that tastes good and doesn’t kill my wallet…. Any suggestions???

I forget who asked… but someone asked about the 100 cal, 18 protein shakes, they are premade by Designer Whey. A little chalky tasting, but do-able.

Thanks for your expertise and suggestions all!

~ Michelle
