Christine, I guess falling is in the air. While I was at mom' over Labor Day, I fell while walking the puppies. Twisted my ankle and bruised myself pretty good even though most of it was internal very little visible. I'm still going slower than normal most of the time and my hip and hand still complain somewhat. I guess it'll be awhile before I am back to normal if ever.

How is your brother doing?

Anna

hey ladies

Just checking in ... been gone over a week to hospital with brother. Drove back home and worked a day and got a screw in my tire. Had to go to get that fixed before I return or drive back to hospital. It takes about 4 1/2 hrs Plus I lose an hour due to time change ... ERRR !! It will be a long hard and rough recovery. My brother is cut from ear to ear with lots of swelling and then he got pneumonia. He was unable to tolerate any food for awhile so they are trying to slowly get back to feeding him through his feeding tube. They removed bone, muscle, tissue from his right leg to replace bone, tissue and muscle from his mouth. He's unable to talk and also has had to have tracheotomy. Thanks anna for the prayers ... he will definitely need them

I shall be gone for some more days.... eating out all 3 meals a day is very hard on the diet...

It was SO hot here I couldn't sleep last night. The power flickered once and killed the flat screen tv we have in our bedroom (it's plugged into a surge suppressor even) Our bedroom didn't cool off until the wee hours. Then DH woke up and wanted to watch YouTube while I was trying to sleep since it was finally cool enough to sleep.
Had a lazy morning, but I need to get moving because I have to work tonight, and I need to get a few things done first.

Christine, still praying for your brother.

Christine, hope everything goes well with your brother.

I do eat beans occasionally, they do cause gas though. I eat tuna occasionally as well. I would eat cottage cheese more often, but when I buy it DH thinks it is for him and also thinks a 2# container is about 1 to 1.5 servings and I rarely get any. I used to make kidney bean salad but DH doesn't like it and my taste buds must have changed because the last couple of times I made it, it didn't taste as good as it used to.

I guess I'll just have to do my best to be more creative in finding protein for my meals.
Thanks for the ideas.

Anna

anna I think that I shall call you " superwoman" ! It wears me out just reading your busy schedule . I sure hope you enjoy your visits with your moms !! My mom had a birthday so we took her out to eat some seafood. I ordered fish grilled and tried to eat well. Not that it matters.... for some reason the scale is "STUCK " for me. I have not struggled this bad since I did WW years ago where if I ate one carrot too much I gained.... that is happening to me and I am worried that my thyroid must be " off " !!
I am getting pretty discouraged with my diet efforts and now I am heading out of town so this could be very BAD !!

anna I was wondering when you were talking about trying to get protein and that you don't like meat.... how do you feel about beans ? try adding peas or beans to your meals or even salads. a half of cup of black eyed peas has 10 g of protein and only 130 calories
I had a serving of Kashi vanilla graham clusters cereal with 1/2 cup of skim milk for 15g of protein and 212 calories the other day. Also what about cottage cheese ? do you like tuna or salmon ? I make a salmon salad ( similar to tuna) with the salmon in the foil pouch and its delicious ! Lots of protein there ! I also like to throw on red kidney beans on a salad . some people like garbanzo beans but I am not a fan. Try to think of some more ways to add protein instead of meat........... I was just thinking of ya !

An unexpected day off left me quite busy around the house. I cleaned up after the puppies-DH admits "I didn't take them out at 3:30 when I left for work." Did 3 or 4 loads of laundry, folded and put away all that was on the couch, gave the puppies their heartworm medicine and played with them/ cuddled with them for the hour the medicine said to keep an eye on them to watch for vomiting, emptied the dish washer, spent 2 hours on church finances, spot cleaned the bathroom, packed for our Labor Day trips- he is going to his mom's and I am going to mine. Oh, and most importantly unloaded the elliptical and worked out for 20 minutes. Strange how when you don't use a piece of equipment for awhile it becomes a repository for lots of items you don't know where to put.

Now 3-4 hours of cleaning someone else's house and cooking for them tomorrow, then I can leave for the 3.5 hour drive to visit my mom.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Christine I'll be praying.

well how's everyone doing this week ? I admit since the scale is not moving that I have struggled to stay motivated ...... !! I have exercised only 3 days this week and then I fixed brownies for a baby shower and cupcakes for great nieces birthday and then I fixed a new recipe cake for my mom's birthday so ...... its been tough with all the sweets " lurking" nearby !! I did give them away and got them out of the house at least but of course had to eat at least one of each of them !!

today I'm off to have the car checked out for a week long trip next week ! I am driving my brother who has mouth cancer for a long operation and its 5 hours from home and will be gone most of next week ! Labor day and on............ Pray for us and that all goes well. He''s supposed to be in hospital for minimum of 8 days !

keep on keeping on

Hello ladies..... I am so bummed ! After adding 5 days of exercise and doing really well last week I lost ......hang on ....... a whopping 2/10ths of a pound !! I am so NOT liking this ! For some strange reason my body seems really stuck and I AM trying !! I 'm really frustrated..... but I WILL NOT give up ... I got up and walked before 7 am in the heat this morning !

Sherry if I had a little one around eating I think it would affect me also !! Its tough when all those " not so good " choices are so close. I bought watermelon and fresh pineapple and a large bag of seedless red grapes and Have eat on those all week . They really do help!

I am doing everything right and for 3 weeks the scale has NOT reflected it. I EVEN cut out my diet sodas . I am addicted to diet soda and cut them down to 2 a day and then I actually drank water and skipped them for over 2 days ! I've been drinking 10 to 12 cups of water or more a day. I added the protein to my diet with the protein powder ???????????

Anna I make a lot of my fruit shakes with skim milk ... I just place in freezor to get cold so it will thicken up ... I also use vanilla protein powder but you said you don't like those?? I have used the equate( walmart) brand vanilla premixed shakes. My favorite one is banana blueberry and the other is watermelon with crystal light lemonade... YUM !!! I freeze my old bananas when they get too brown and use them in shakes... ( they do turn brown) but taste ok.

Keep on keepin on

Sherry, I have been using PB2 from Bell Plantation off and on for the last 6 months or so, we found it locally at a small store we like to shop in occasionally even though their prices on everything but meat are a bit high. We really like the owners and want to help them stay in business.
I like the idea of unflavored because then I could add it to so many more things other than just shakes. I'm getting tired of peanut butter flavored shakes all the time. There are some fruits it just doesn't go so well with.

I guess you could say I'm a picky eater, most of the higher protein options for the entrées I either don't like or they have ingredients that seriously don't agree with my stomach (bell peppers). I've never been a big meat eater, 2-3 ounces of steak or chicken is usually about all the meat I eat at a time, and I've never liked most lunch meats. No wonder my 19 year old only eats chicken, hot dogs(yuck) and bacon. Now cheese, peanut butter and nuts all loaded with fat, I can eat.

Christine, wouldn't you know it yesterday was the end of the summer BL challenge no loss for the last 10 weeks, this morning down 1.8# must have been a bit of fluid retention. Oh well now I'm gearing up for the next one.

Sherry, if you would like to join a Biggest Loser challenge team, as of yesterday we still had a few openings on our LIMES team. They help you focus on different things each week to help with the weight loss journey. Let me know and I'll get you an invite.

Anna

Hi, I've been having grandson with me til school starts next week. His eating habits really are not helping me -- but I've been able to maintain most of my healthy choices. He eats cinnamon toast with peanut butter and all sorts of odd combinations. We went to meet the teacher this evening -- so come Monday he won't be here so often.

Anna, have you ever tried the PB2 powder -- from Honeyville. If you would like to try it I can send you a container at no charge. I have several and sure that I will never use all that I have.

The weather has really been hot and humid -- we've had a couple of days of showers -- not much accumulation.

Been going to a Beth Moore study -- with our women's group at church. Its the study - Book of James. Very intensive and lots of reading and homework. Its very good and getting me tuned up for the coming season where I will be moderating a SS class - Explore the Bible - (Lifeway). We will be studying the Book of Hebrews. This along with getting more intensive exercise and I should be on the right road!

Well, I better post this before it gets lost in cyberspace. All have a great evening.

Christine, I'll have to keep that in mind after my first order(which will probably be one each of un flavored, chocolate, and strawberry, still can't quite force myself to try vanilla, they all taste like play dough to me). If they are as good as you say I may buy 6 at a time after that just because I am worth it, and with the new job I may be able to afford it soon.

Hey all

I have been trying hard to watch what I eat and have been back on track about 80% of the time and then one night or two a week I get the " munchies" and go nuts !! Last night I went crazy on Graham crackers !! I am aggravated with myself but I am just going to get right back with it today. The Humidity is suffocating here this week so I may do an inside DVD this afternoon. We had a slight rain shower this weekend but really need so much more !

I did go to Fazoli's for lunch and had one of their Light menu items called chicken mushroom alfredo bake and it was PHENOMENAL !! I loved it ..... said it was 400 calories .... it was over in the fat grams but I feel on occasion that is ok....just not routinely ! I would DEFINITELY eat again !

anna- if you order 6 of those unjury containers they give you free shipping from the unjury company. I have never been able to afford to do it but I love this unflavored so well and their chocolate is so much better than any I've found local that I may bite the bullet and do it next time!

Hope all is well.... Sherry , Denise... miss you ladies !

Thanks, I guess I'll have to save up my nickels and dimes for a while and try it. I have so much trouble getting enough protein each day without going over on the fat. If I could only just add a teaspoon or two each day that should help get my protein where it needs to be and make it last a while and not seem quite as expensive.
As it is I've been spending $5 for a small jar of PB2 to help but it makes everything a bit grainy and tastes like peanuts. Which is ok sometimes but not all the time.

hey all well after trying so hard all week and taking my lunch 3 times and watching my protein ..... I lost a WHOPPING 2/10th of a pound ! I was pretty disappointed to say the least. I guess my body is not sure what I am doing so I must give it a war !!

anna- you won't like my answer. ITs called unjury and its the protein powder they sell to people with or who have had bariatic surgery. I have not had that surgery but a friend mine has and she gave me a sample and I love it ! Its easily digested but EXPENSIVE ! I order it and sometimes amazon has it on sale and sometimes not.I just pay it since I think my health is worth it but I know its pricey. YOU can google it. They do have a sample pack you can order and try ... I DID NOT like the chicken/broth soup one. It does not do well in hot items so you must dissove in cold things... I had it in grape juice this morning and it was AWESOME ! 90 calories for 20 g of protein. It did turn it cloudy but I couldn't taste it at all ! I also love the chocolate ones ! Have not tried the vanilla since I can buy vanilla protein powders around here !

Well I did walk my 2 miles this morning and will make sure to get back to exercising since my body OBVIOUSLY needs a wake up call.....LOL .....My week looks good this coming week so I will work hard and surely sooner or later the scale will move !!

unflavored? Brand, and store purchased at please? Getting tired of chocolate, sometimes. Adding fruit or PB2 helps some but I could use a change. I do the strawberry occasionally but can't stand the vanilla. Slim Fast used to have the kind you mixed with juice, but I haven't seen it in years.

anna - so glad to hear from you !! I hear you on the traveling gain ??? I always swell also !

I did not lose last week and was pretty bummed about it..... I have been trying to get 100 % compliant but still am struggling. I'd say I have been about 80 % and am hoping that will not Hurt me too much in WI on thursday !! I have got to get to moving again. I know that is the answer but we had a new hot water heater installed and now there have been two different leaks and everytime I turn around the plumber is coming back to look at it and be in my house !! always on my day off when I need to be doing OTHER things !!

I bought some unflavored protein powder and have been adding it to crystal light and love it. It helps me to feel full !! I am loving that!

I also read an article in Woman's World this week about frozen meals being better than shake diets ! It was very interesting and a lot like the simple diet !!

Sorry it's been so long, we had a youth retreat for church and DH was in charge so that means we've both been BUSY!
Gained (water weight) from all the traveling, about 22 hours in 5 days, hope to get rid of most of it by Thursday's weigh in.
I've been off diet for a long time -couldn't afford the shakes and the gas to shop for the meals but haven't done too bad on my own. Thursday will tell.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks Christine for the first aid kit! I think I better get my glasses adjusted too. Granted, these mishaps were not all on the same day -- just with a couple of weeks! But I still need to keep a careful eye out and remind grandboy not to leave items in the walkway.

He and I ate at Subway after church. I had to go to the dollar store to get a couple of things and the subway was right there -- and so it was nice he and I sitting across the table -- enjoying our meal. In the parking lot I saw a young man who had helped me mow and weed eat a couple of weeks ago....he stopped to ask if I wanted him to come by again....so I set a time for midweek.

Your salmon dinner with fresh corn sounds soooo good. I have tomatoes and jalapenos from my yard. The peppers I have been steaming and canning with a sweet vinegar flavor.

I kept to nursery at church this morning -- during ss and church...so I am a bit frazzled. I think I will just sit a while and rest. Ty wants to swim a little later in the day.

All have a great afternoon. Blessings this day !

I am a disaster -- clumsy no doubt. I fell in an uneven ground area watering the dogs...jammed by thumb (writing hand no less). The goat knocked me down and twisted the knee...after I helped her pen mate out of the fence she was stranded in! And then to top it off this week -- I stubbed my big toe on a barbell that grandson left in the walkway! My whole toe is black&blue. Ugh - the aches and pains of not being more careful!

Been is good day - started early with a preparing a meal to take to church by 10am. Then Ty and I came home -- seems he has been hungry all day!

Have a good evening all! Blessings.

Anakie - you are really gonna be busy w/ two cleaning jobs. I cant help but think you are really a blessing to these ladies.

I am busy all day -- wish I could get a bit of help for the yard work ...... the house I can manage with some cleaning out that needs to be done. I plan my eating snacks and keep a written log of everything I eat and tally the calories. I sometimes transfer these to the trackers -- sometimes not.

I ordered online some new sneakers. Got them and they seem to fit just right. Ty and I went swimming for a while today -- then it started to thunder and rain -- so we quickly got out.

Tomorrow being the first of August. Grandson's school begins on the 20th. He will be in the 2nd grade. It been fun having him here with me -- but I will also be glad to get back to a regular routine.

Keep a smile - and enjoy ...

Tomorrow is DD's final for Calculus 2. My last day of sitting in BK for 2 hrs 4 days a week. emoticon

Saturday I started cleaning house for one of the elderly women from our evening service. Sunday evening another woman who lives in the same building sent her daughter(visiting from Georgia) down to where we hold service and to ask when would be a good time for her mom to come down and talk with me. She had surgery in May and has had unexpected complications ever since. She is in therapy to try to regain her balance but is currently unable to cook and clean for herself, and is not happy with the cleaning service she has been using since her operation (She has been paying $20 /hr and found out the cleaning lady was spending time on the phone when she was supposed to be working.). She wanted to know if I could recommend someone. I said "ME". Soooooo next week I will start cleaning a second apartment and cooking dinner a couple days each week.

Hopefully this will help me stay away from the snacks, and not be too much on top of all my other responsibilities. And hopefully I won't be so tired I don't want to exercise.

Anna

Oh Goodness -- where is everyone??? emoticon

Well, I didn't do as well as I planned -- but I did better than I could have! Ty and I baked cookies .... I let him add food coloring so the chocolate chip cookies are a dull shade of green. Not really to my liking --- this is GOOD! I only tasted them. Ate NO cookie dough! PLUS PLUS!

Got in a short walk today -- gathered chicken eggs and walked the dog ... back to his kennel. He has to stay in since he will chase the chickens.! Not a good thing!

Bye for now -- hope its a great evening for YOU!

Started my day with a protein shake -- made with some yogurt and protein powder. I didn't get the stuff at Walmart like I'd wanted to. I will have to go back another time. I was helping son get organized in his new apartment. Where he is they have a no paper or plastic policy...so the store don't sack in bags....unless you bring your own .... they have to be cloth or re-cycle . Well, I didn't know this in advance -- so I wasn't prepared. And didn't want to buy more bags since I have plenty at home.

I'm so tired today -- from our long drive yesterday. It was 300 miles total . DH used to do all the driving -- I was very spoiled in this regard. Anyway, my day today is just do the housework and laundry.

We start a new Beth Moore study tonight with our women's group on the Book of James. I look forward to this. There are about six to ten who meet weekly.

All have a great week..... emoticon

Christine, I sell Pampered chef and have tried chips made by my director's DH at a meeting. Yes everyone was raving- I wasn't impressed. He used the "Simple Slicer" which is what PC pairs up with the microwave chip maker. I have both the ultimate mandolin and the simple slicer, either should work. I think I was just missing the mouth feel of the oil on the chips and salt doesn't stick to them when cooked in the microwave. Besides no one sells a good powdered barbeque seasoning to sprinkle on them. They make sour cream and chive, ranch, cheddar etc. but no BBQ. I don't like sour cream and never have and can taste it in most flavored chips.

Enjoy the cooler weather, it probably won't last long.

sherry just so you know... I have NEVER given up my coffee with creamer. I just could not do it and it never has hurt me. I do measure it and limit myself to two servings a day though ! I just count it on my calories and nutrition counter ! I know he stresses that in the book and I also have low calorie salad dressing ... I was TOTALLY unable to do the 15 calorie thing. I do keep my dressings low fat and measure them but when eating out even the FF dressings have around 50 to 60 calories. I tried to make this simple diet ( TSD) where I could live with it for the rest of my life not just a " diet " for the temporary !

Anna - I am glad to hear the puppies are doing good but I am sure they are a handful ! They are so fun and challenging when small ! I can NEVER remember to tell you .... afew weeks ago you were talking about potato chips and how you love them but try to limit yourself..... Well...... have your tried the microwave chip maker ?? I have not but have read many great posts on them and have thought of buying one. They say the secret is a GREAT mandolin slicer so you can slice the potatoes thin. Everyone rants they are awesome ! They would count as a potato and that's all !!! amazon, pampered chef and Bed bath and beyond have these potato chip maker kits ! Just a thought and I wanted to share with you !! no fat either !

Denise - when is your trip ? I know you are still exercising. I know that you are getting excited to see the grand babies. My niece sent me some photos of the great nephew and we had a 2 1/2 hr skype talk the other day . It was WONDERFUL !

As for me gang, well I have finally started in getting back on the diet and did fair this weekend and now I need to pick up the exercise again. We drove over to see my MIL who's dealing with liver cancer and I took food and cooked a meal and left it with them. She never lets me do anything and it felt nice to do that for her ! That was a long day and then we have an area wide gospel meeting running Sunday through Tuesday that will keep me busy this week.
The weather is cooler again this week and I simple LOVE it

keep on keeping on
Christine

Christine the puppies are doing great. Coming when called most of the time- unless they made it to the travel trailer and found many wonderful things to investigate under it. They sit for a treat- unless they are too excited and jump like crazy trying to get it out of your hand without sitting for it. They still haven't gotten the concept of potty only outside so spend a lot of their time in the house in a large cardboard box- training them to hold it until we let them outside. They are adorable, but VERY full of energy.(Chihuahua, Jack Russell, Sheltie, Rat Terrier mix) They sometimes play like Nala and Simba from "Lion King" and pin each other.

Well it's time to go to work- got a part time job cleaning the apartment of a woman from our evening service- I do so much for everyone she said she wouldn't let me do it unless she paid me. She is 86 and can't do too much of it herself anymore. She is a sweetheart.

Yea, got my book -- I must have hit buy twice in error.....got two....so I will share one with my daughter. She so needs to address the weight issues now while she's still young. When it get cooler I want to start back riding horses. My riding one had a baby a couple of months ago---so I've been leaving them alone and its just way to hot to be out riding.

I got my Zumba dvd out yesterday and did "rush" for about 15 minutes. Ty was jumping up and down too....I managed to break a sweat. And this morning I did 15 minutes on the tread mill.

I will be going to the Walmart store (40 miles from me) next week -- so I can get some of the prepared items. We only have a dollar store and a local grocery store here -- and they can be pricey on most items.

I might look on line and see if I can get some of the shake mixes delivered. I made a potato salad yesterday -- so will just have to be careful with portion sizes to enjoy this.

We have "eating Sunday" once a month -- so this Sunday I will prepare fresh fruit salad to take....and some turkey meatballs for the kids.

I'm still gonna enjoy my coffee with a little powdered creamer -- I will try to wean this down too. I've been trying to enjoy zero vitamin water, water with lime and mint and I make a zero powdered drink too from a Walmart brand.

Well - ladies - its Friday and I try to start my focus so NOT to let the weekend kill my progress from the week.

Blessings to each of you.

Sherry - Thank you! I can't wait to see my babie. And of course the mama baby too! lol They are gonna keep me hoppin but I'm going to enjoy each and every day! Congrats on your loss!!!

It's been really hot here lately. It is hard to get through a workout but it has to be done and it has been completed this evening.

I'm still trudging along. Food choices haven't been great. It was my birthday on the 23rd so of course I took the day off and me and my honey went to breakfast. I bought my favorite ice cream from B&J's, cookie dough, and I think they changed it because it just didn't do it for me. It tasted different. So much for B&J's! lol

I believe this is my second round of 21 Day Fix and I'll be starting on the third round come next week. This will be my last round since my vacation for Texas will be coming up soon. (Although I still have a week before I go on vacation so I may continue regardless.) I want to rock this last round so I'm going to go full blast on this one. I think I'm going to try and do some extra workouts Tuesday and Thursdays and I think for the last week I'll try out the two workouts. eek! lol

I will definitely bring some dvd's to workout to for the trip. Now, to pick a few because I'm having a hard time deciding. I can't find one of my Turbo Jam dvd's which is what I would have taken. I refuse to buy the whole set just for one! lol It's a quick workout but it gets you going. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

hi Sherry

I love your post about the animals and I have doves that come to my bird feeder daily but that 's too cute that you have them as pets !! My squirrels this year are draining my bird feeder dry everyday ... they are real little acrobats hanging upside down and pulling the seeds out !!! I wish my abs were that strong !
I had some fresh peaches delivered to me from georgia and they are DEELISH !! I have eaten them plain but also I made a fruit peach pizza .. and I found one more recipe I plan on fixing !! DEFINITELY not diet friendly ! SOrry its summer and I LOVE this fresh food too much !!
I took some slices of fruit pizza to a church member who has sick husband and had a nice visit yesterday . My MIL is battlling cancer and lives about 120 miles away and I plan on trying to go see her this weekend. The chemo treatments give her diahrrhea and she is sick for 4 days afterwards with that and just about the time she starts feeling better then she has to have another one ! I was really wanting to wash windows this week but have not gotten around to it !
we are in need of rain VERY badly here and yesterday it sprinkled for one minute and that was it ! hope we get some soon but none is forcasted !
Keep on keeping on'

Howdy from Texas team. Christine is like the ROAR at the bottom of your posts. I think this time of the summer -- everyone seems so afar and doing things away from the computer.

I am sitting here -- I just came in from outside (way to hot), mixed up some granola, mini chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows for a snack mix for grandson (Ty). He will munch on just marshmallows if I'm not watching.

I painted my nails -- and mixed two colors -- a very pretty mauve pink! They are super short since I work in my yard a lot -- but at least they are clean! I leave for bible study in a few minutes .. our church is 3 miles from here, a county road. I've already fed and watered the chickens -- gathered about 11 eggs today. My doves got out of their cage -- so they are just free - styling it -- but I suspect they will stay close. Our peacock is sitting on five eggs.

emoticon Loss on scale this am. OK - I have two scales -- one showed 187 and the other 189. I guess I will wait and see what tomorrow shows --- but either way I'm making progress.

Mine grand boy is here with me after being away for seven weeks.....I'm so joyed to get to spend time with him. I gave him a haircut yesterday -- hope we can get by until school begins next month. Then he can get a "real" one from the shop in town.

I had a s Mmoothie for breakfast (frozen) from last night. Then a peach and granola for lunch. I aim for 1250 to 1300 calories a day. Pool time this afternoon and early evening for laps and aqua jogging.

Such a busy Saturday. Helped someone move (in same trailer park), went to a graduation party 30 miles away, and then a local team's ball game (company event for dh's second job).

Two new puppies emoticon emoticon keep DD and me hopping all day. Right now they are just ankle biters but should grow to about 20#. Walking them will help keep me out and walking a lot more when we finally get them used to a leash.

Got to go time to get ready for church.

Christine - I'm still hanging in there! You'll get back to it eventually. It is summer time and most people just get busy during this season. I have a feeling that once Fall hits, everyone will be back at it.

I'm still getting my workouts in! Dirty 30 done today. I can't say that I've stayed the course with my eating though but I do know what it takes to lose the weight and once I get tired of not losing I'll do the right thing. Stuff just seems to get in the way. I still seem to be losing the inches so I'll definitely stay the course when it comes to the workouts. My body just seems to respond with workouts. Got to figure out what workout I'm taking on my vacations. I still want to workout but I refuse to take my 21 Day because I'm afraid I'll leave it! lol And I'll be one upset lady!

But this girl needs to go shopping for some new clothes! lol I'm getting ready for my vacation next month and I can't wait to get outta here and visit my bff! lol Also preparing for my vacation in October. Got my car and airline ticket and spa day taken care of and this girl is gonna be Arkansas bound! I'm going to visit my daughter and my grandbabies! I can't wait!!! Yeeehawww!!! lol

Man, I really sweated with Total Body Cardio Fix this evening! I'm still dripping sweat as I sit here typing. As usual, it's a late workout but as long as I'm in bed by 11:00 pm I should be good. Fell asleep on the couch and woke myself up by snoring! lol Stayed on point with the meal plan today.

Didn't post yesterday but I did complete my workout. I was going to bail because it was so late in the evening but I got my lazy but up and did it. (Not like I had to go to work the next day.) Completed Dirty 30 just now. Gotta say I didn't miss it when my dvd was jacked up but now that I have the new one, I'm back at it! lol It came in the nick of time.

I've decided that even though my weight loss is slow going, I don't care. I will go by how my clothing fit and by the inches lost at this point. But because I don't see the weight loss, doesn't mean something isn't working and it's not an option to quit, eva!!!

Christina - Glad you could check in! Sound like a busy lady!!! That's a workout in itself! Summer is a busy time and hard to get to the computer at times. I can't wait for my vacation come August. You won't see me here until I get back!!! I am disconnecting from all technology!!! lol

good morning ladies

I have been super busy ... I worked some extra days for a girl on vacation and then I took the great niece to see " How to train your Dragon 2 " and it is AWESOME !! I honestly can say I liked it even better than the first !! VERY cute and sweet and funny movie !! It did say it was in 2D and I am not sure what that was but it was not like 3 D for sure !

My diet has fell by the wayside and I am running and summer is always my tough time and then sunday evening we have a homemade ice cream super after worship !!
I am sorry haven;t been on here too much ... trying to do some things around the house

Last weekend weather was nice and finally powered washed the porch and vinyl siding... I think un "housed" about 1000 spiders and maybe more wasps !! Then I sprayed down everything after it dried with bug spray ! It looks great but now I want to wash windows !!
LOL ... its always something !

keep on keepin on ladies

Anna - LOL

I definitely wouldn't say you are under employed, more like over employed, you're just not getting paid for it!!! Man! I got tired just reading all you do! I'd be surprised if you could actually fit a part-time job in let alone a full-time job. Maybe if you get a full-time, he'll actually see all that you do when other stuff starts falling by the wayside because it will!

Tell him, his quilt will get done the day you get your sewing room back! lol Or you could start dumping stuff. hee hee That's what I do and he doesn't have a clue. I hate clutter!!! Anywhere! emoticon

Well tonight's workout has also been completed. My left knee has been hurting a little all day, why I don't know but I pushed through it regardless. I refuse to give up and I ain't modifying! Humph! lol Was on point with my food intake for the day.

Denise, I wish it was. Currently I am underemployed. I am Pastor's wife and personal secretary, mother (2 beautiful daughters in one at university / other home taking community college class for the summer then back to university), housekeeper, church bookkeeper, Sunday school teacher/ president, local Missions president (I sort all food and clothing donations and distribute them) , church statistician, chauffeur, chief cook (both home and church events), and sell Pampered Chef in my spare time. All the remodeling is just extra that DH sees as ministry to our family and flock. (I see it as practice for when we eventually get our own home.) I only get paid for the Pampered Chef.

I think I forgot a few in the list. DH really wants me to get a full or even part time job besides, but then who would do all that I do right now? Not him, he's too busy as it is and keeps me hopping as well. Can't stop chauffeuring until we get the second vehicle back on the road and DD gets her license or goes back to university.

And he wonders why I don't have his quilt done.( HE picked out the pattern 25 years ago ADVANCED PIECING SKILLS NEEDED, I searched for the pattern for about 8 years before I decided I would have to draft it myself, I started collecting fabrics about 15 years ago, and still am looking for a few to do the sashings with, started actual work on it about the time a tornado hit our town 7 years ago and we had to box up the entire house so repairs could be done on west end of the house, and can't find everything for it now, since MY sewing room is now his favorite storage room- anything in the house he doesn't know where to put he sends it upstairs with one of the girls to my sewing room, don't think he has set foot in it in 5-6 years so he doesn't realize how little room I have to turn around in it.)

Enough venting! emoticon

Hope everyone has a good day.

Anna

Karen - I haven't seen any frozen meals lately at Costco. The ones they did have weren't all that great to me. But you have to remember that all Costco's aren't the same so what's at your store isn't necessarily at my store. I feel that some Costco's are better than some.

Anna - you are one busy lady! You help a lot with remodeling it seems. Is that your job?

Completed my workout this evening and I gotta say it is hard getting back in the grove once you've stopped. But hopefully, I'll make it through without any sicknesses! lol I was sweatin something fierce this time around but it is hot here!

I didn't get a chance to prep my meals yesterday because I was just tired after the trip to Costco then of course having to put everything away. But my food is ready for the rest of this week. I had bought some individual salads last week and I'll be taking those to work. So my protein, dressing and salad is all ready. I prepped fruit, nuts, tuna salad, crackers and more veggies to get me through the week. So I'm all set! See everyone tomorrow! Have a great one!

Had a busy weekend. Got a call Saturday am a friend needed help with housework / painting, spent about 8 hours at their house cleaning and painting cupboards and trying to keep their 9 year-old out of trouble (she wanted to paint and has no common sense when it comes to things that she wants to do- "sounds like fun I'll do it now and ask questions later"- green hand prints on bathroom vanity doors, her 16 year-old sister was painting the bathroom door at the time) Obviously we weren't too successful on that task.

How is everyone doing!!! I had a great 4th, got to see a lot of fire works!

I haven't been doing the 2nd round like I should. Wasn't feeling well last week but I'm ready to get this party started come Monday. I'll be on my way to Costco today so that I can get all my foods ready. So I'll start fresh with everyone on the round!

Recently, I started taking a probotic supplement and I really haven't had a appetite! Or should I say, I don't have the gnawing hunger where I want to go crazy and eat a ton of food! lol They say health starts in the gut and I'm beginning to believe it! lol I think I'm loving this supplement and I feel it can only get better with the program!

I am ready to rock and roll!!! Baby!!! lol

Another thing! My second dvd of the program has finally shipped after I had to contact them about it and told them they where on were basically on my bad list! LOL But it's all good!

Hope everyone is doing well. I've been so busy, but today I am taking time for me, well at least a bit.
Going to get in extra exercise today and lots of water hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow.

Welcome classy Karen!
Considering potatoes, corn and peas are on the vegetables list, I'm pretty sure Lima Beans are on the list as well. Just be sure your serving / portion sizes are not too large.

Welcome back Christine, was beginning to wonder what was up.

Had a dinner again after morning service today. Ate way more than I intended but still was only about 100 calories over my range for the entire day. Not bad for a Sunday.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Taking DH to work, waiting at McD while broken rear window is replaced, then go home get a short rest before taking DD2 to school and pick DH up from work, take him home so he can be picked up for softball, go back and pick up DD2 and take her to work, and possibly pick her up from work. I may even need to go to the ball game -last week the kid that is taking DH had to leave early to go to work.

I hate driving that much, especially when it's not even really for me.

Hello new friends. The Book the simple diet is sold out all over in my area of Florida. I think I am going to like this plan. I put real vanilla in my shake and Flax. Will be going to Costco to stock up on diet frozen foods and frozen vegetables. Does anyone know if Lima beans are on the vegetable list? I am not a big lover of the veggies. My weight is at the critical level so I really have to work this I am actually avoiding my doctor so I do not get yelled at. But since using the shakes and low carb food I have lost 6 pounds. emoticon

Dirty 30 done! Well, what I could do of it. It freezes in the end but now I know the last two exercises that need to be done so I can get my timer out and do them until I get the replacement dvd.

Well, today I cleaned the kitchen, living room, garage, straightened up my room, cleaned the bathroom, did my workout; now I need to take a shower, wash two loads of clothes and run to the store. lol So that is what my day consists of. Then I'll need to prep my foods and get ready for the work week. It never ends but it's got to be done.

Just finished Cardio Fix. I still haven't received my new dvd or confirmation that it is coming. (And it's been a week. 24-48 hours has come and gone.) May have to contact beachbody again because I don't like that! lol I am just as important as that new order they may be filling and I will definitely let them know that. They messin' with the wrong girl! emoticon

The dvd works somewhat in the computer (go figure) but it still has its issues.

I haven't been true to the eating part this week. Went out to lunch a couple of times. One for a birthday but I'll be prepping again this weekend. And getting back on track. But I'm definitely not going to beat myself up over it.

Hope everyone is doing okay. And have a great weekend!emoticon

I was hungry and all they had was Manwich sloppy Joes and chips. Rarely eat Manwich cause it upsets my stomach (can't do the peppers in it), so chips was the main course.

It didn't do too much damage, I still lost almost a pound this week.

Hoping for 2# next week.

Anna! lol You can do it! Walk by those darn chips! :-) You are going to have to make yourself bags of healthy veggies so when you have to run out and do things, you can just grab and go. I've been doing it for the past four weeks and it is so convenient!

Christina - Even though you did eat some not so good stuff, you probably lost the half pound because you were finally able to rest! Getting enough sleep also helps with weight loss. You might like 21 day fix. Just remember it is NOT as hard as Jillian but I think adding the eating program also helps with the weight loss.

Well, I've finished the first round. I didn't do three days of it because my second dvd is jacked up from being stuck in the player. Then it got stuck in another player. Makes me wonder if it was the dvd after-all. But at any rate, beachbody is suppose to be sending me another replacement. So, I lost 4.6 lbs. and 8 inches overall. I am happy with the results. I have to remember I don't lose like when I was in my 20 twenties. So if I lose around 5 lbs. a round, I'll be happy with that. I plan on doing four rounds before my vacation at the end of August. I started the second round on Monday. I think I'll do two rounds and then post pictures. I did take before so I'll have something to judge the second rounds on.

Well tomorrow is weigh in and it doesn't look good. I was doing quite well until we went to a youth group leaders meeting last night. Sloppy Joes and chips..... not a veggie in sight,(unless you count the personal bag of mini carrots the woman next to DH brought- she said her doctor said "lose weight or go on insulin sooner than later", she doesn't look all that heavy- maybe 30 or 40# overweight)
All those chips, all that salt! The water will eventually go away, but in time for weigh in -I DON'T THINK SO!

I will have to get the will power back. I can walk by chips, I can walk by chips, I WILL WALK BY CHIPS!

I will be taking the food to the next meeting so it will be more diet friendly. Lots of freggies!

Home after 3 days of bad eating and driving too much. I did walk a lot though. Back to eating according to plan and working out. Will have to do some extra time on the elliptical because there is no telling how many calories I ate, I don't even know what half of it was called to try to track it properly.

On college campus with girl from the youth group. Walking a lot. Eating terribly.

Downpour here yesterday, spent the afternoon in air conditioning, actually was too cold for me, but outside was too hot.
Feel like I'm coming down with something, may be an allergy to the pollen here or possibly the tea I had yesterday, not the normal Earl Grey I am used to, it left my mouth feeling funny. Now my throat is sort of itchy, dry, almost sore. Hope I didn't pick up a cold.

Resting, listening to new music on YouTube. Will have to head out soon to attend another session.

Hello ladies....

Thanks Denise for the encouraging words ! I am so loving that you like this 21 day fix program... I may give it a whirl before too long ?? It may be what I need to get myself going...

well ladies I lost 1/2 pd and I definitely DO not know how ??? I have not exercised but I have rested and I've eaten VERY badly however ... I did do the 16 hour fast a couple of days... but I ate badly... evidently my body likes that ???May have just " shook " it up a bit ??? Its pretty rough getting my coffee at noon .. LOL !! It was my DH 's birthday so we went to an expensive restaurant for his Bday and of course I had cake !! Only one slice but that WAS enough !! I have been " craving " chocolate lately and I bought the new fiber one soft baked cookies in double chocolate and they are DEELISH ! they are 120 calories and large and individually wrapped ! YUM !!

ANNA - all that talk of sewing makes me think of fond memories of my granny ! she was the sweetest woman EVER and loved to sew... while I was growing up she made a lot of my sunday dresses and school clothes ! I have lots of her quilts with pieces from my clothes also ! My mom sewed too but I never developed the love for it... not enough patience !!!

MY DH works all weekend and that's every third and I always get my diet going while he's not here... so I hope to get back to tracking this weekend !! woo hoo !!

hope you both are doing well

Christine

Lower Body Fix completed! Almost done with my first round! Still don't think I've lost anymore but I do have until Sunday to weigh-in so I'll be patient!!! lol I'm definitely losing inches cause I keep looking at myself in the mirror. hee hee

Christina - Glad you took some days off to chill out! You'll get back to it eventually. I'll be going to Texas, end of August so I know all about the humidity. Probably won't go out until night fall. :-) Your husband is okay in my book! lol It wasn't actually a marathon though. But it's more episodes than they normally play! Thank goodness we have Netflix. They have ALL the episodes there! So if I start fiendin', I can always go there.

Anna - I love to sew. Haven't done it in a while though. I made some black curtains and a duvet cover last year. And that was enough for me for a while. :-) Even though you haven't done any exercise, it's still on your mind so I know you'll get back to it eventually.

I don't really expect things to slow down until next week.

Hopefully when DD#1 comes home for a few days it won't be quite so busy here.

DD#2 had her first day on the job today. Her boss told me she did quite well. Her first credit card sale the card had "see ID" on the back and she noticed it and asked for an ID- good job girl!

I to have lost most of my mojo -whatever that is. Hardly exercising for the last 2 weeks or so. Hardly eating any freggies. At least I've been tracking my food after the fact and know that except for 1 or 2 days I've kept under 2000 calories. A little above my goal range, but not too bad.

I've been spending too much time on eBay. Only bought a couple sewing patterns. I've gotten the urge to sew again and don't have very many patterns to chose from in my current size, and none in the style I've been thinking about. I've been planning my new dress for a couple of Christmas parties that we will be going to. And while I'm at it I'm thinking about making dresses for my great nieces. My niece (older brother's only daughter) is taking in a new foster daughter (7 years old) and I thought it would be a nice welcome to the family would be to make a set of similar dresses for the niece's daughter (about 9) and the new foster daughter. I've been checking out the utsav site advertised here and love some of their dresses and am planning something similar to some I've been looking at. My girls never feel comfortable in a dress unless they have shorts or leggings under it and all the dresses at utsav have some form of pants under them, I think many of them are quite cute. (Maybe it's the fact we have quite a large Indian population around here and I've seen a few people wearing similar outfits I've even seen one woman wearing a sari-they are quite beautiful, but too much like a costume to be practical)

This has had me thinking/ researching/ dreaming when I really should be doing things like walking, housework, cooking, etc., etc., etc.......

Got to get busy again working out, planning meals, cleaning, etc....

I will get back on track.

Anna

Sounds like my DH and laundry. He's been banned from the laundry room for years! If it's not washing wool sweaters in hot water(Christmas presents that we had worn only once or twice), or putting 6-8 sweaters in one load to pick up fuzz from each, it's putting bleach in with cotton sweatshirts (bright green with white dots now, souvenirs from our 45 min layover in Ireland) other. "Every load needs a splash of bleach to sanitize it."

NOT!

There are just certain things that it is better if I do them myself.

I don't like men...I am so annoyed with this one right now. He tires to put in a dvd in the tv/dvd combo player. Now, if it's not going in, what the hell, could it be that another dvd is in there already? Hello! Now that dvd is stuck! My friggin workout dvd! I am so not liking him right now. It seems that he is a shleprock! Seem like anything he touches turns to coal, not gold! Grrrrrrr!!!
