Hey there Pearl I hope your day went well yesterday. Spark people is a fantastic place to be accountable no one should be judging you because we all fall into two categories...Been there done that or There, but for the grace of God go I. Today I'm going to drive round trip 6 hours to have lunch with my family Mom, Dad, son and one of my sisters. sigh hate the driving love the family...lol

What is accountability? To tell the truth without fear of judgement. Yesterday I slipped. By the numbers on the scale it was bigger than I thought. I closed my eyes and looked deep inside. I feel as if someone knocked the breath right out of me. I've taken several deep cleansing breaths feeling them as they went down deep inside. I feel very sad emoticon and disappointed in myself. Losing weight is very important to me as it is to every one who comes to this web site. My mind says to get busy and don't think about it any more. I apologize for all the "I" statements if anyone reads this. It is what it is. Accountability is about keeping me truthful to myself. Each day we can beginning anew. HAVE A GREAT DAY. emoticon

emoticon for not beating yourself up occasional off track moments happen it's not going into a total free fall for days that's important. It must be difficult to be your Mom's primary caregiver I'm a long term care aide so I know how difficult it is ...however I get to go home at the end of the day.

Hi Lori. Spa Day would be great. emoticon It's all about the budget. I do have a pedicure and manicure that's a real treat once a month. It gets me out of the house and away for a few hours. Mom is pretty much 24/7 care. My computer is my world right now.

Today I didn't plan well and got off the track a little (not to bad). Didn't beat myself up to much. Just got right back on course. emoticon

Goodnight emoticon

Happy day five emoticon
I have a suggestion to replace your pig out day have a spa day give each other manicures, pedicures and/or facials. I wish one of my sisters lived close enough to have a spa day. It is really hard to break food habits, but kudo's to you on having that "talk" with your family it can be a hard conversation.
Cheers!

Good morning Day #4 Hi Lori I too have the same up and down with my weight. My track record with staying on a diet is very bad I usually only last a few weeks or a few days. Today is a challenge. I'm a caregiver to my mom who is 95 years old. I still have to cook and shop. She loves her sweets. It took a year to convince her to keep her treats in her room. She always want to share with me. She is expressing love through food (love is food.) emoticon That's my every day challenge. But to day brings a different challenge. My sister visits two days a week. I love my baby sister. I give her everything (not that she needs it.) We load up with candies, cake, ice cream. And for two days a week we pig emoticon out. I had a little talk with my sister and told her I can't have the food in the house anymore. Important word CAN'T. I talk to mom too. I told mom my sister doesn't need that type of food. She understands my sister can't eat that way and it ok. I apologize for talking a lot. emoticon Talk to you later emoticon

Hang in there, Good job on the treadmill walk that will really help with the insulin control too. My hubby is diabetic and the more exercise he gets the better he does we also have two dogs and if I don't get them out for a walk they get unbearably annoying, so I have the exercise part don pat I just seem to be having trouble sticking with the diet I have been gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over again...lol I

Day #3 Struggling with adjusting insulin. Can be tricky business. Still not feel well and sleep is broken. emoticon This adjustment stage may last about two week. emoticon

Just finished first walk on treadmill. Setting 5% incline 2mph @30 min = 1 mile emoticon

Hi Lori; It's nice to know someone is listening. Writing is a little like self talk. Second day went good. Still have apple to eat later. Didn't walk today. I can find a dozen things to do and not the time to walk. emoticon
I need a reminder why I want this to work. Not only do I want to stop taking insulin (that makes me gain weight). I have two grand children graduating from college. In different cities that mean " road trip". emoticon
Good night I plan to post every day. Talk tomorrow. emoticon

Good morning today: I will follow diet outline.
I will walk two miles.
I will talk about my feels. (this one isn't easy for me.
I will write them down. ( other one that's not easy.)
Old parent tapes say: Don't complain no one cares any way.
I have started out on a journey. Never to late to start living differently. To answer my own questions how am I feeling. Empty. Don't get me wrong I'm not unhappy. Just stuck. emoticon
Have a good day. Check-in later emoticon
