While I am all for education on healthy eating I am against the laws forcing the issue.
I agree that portion sizes are way to big. Everywhere you look you see super size this or that. We as a nation have caused this to be a craze. If more of us say no to super sizing then the industry will phase it out.
As for soda in general why just pick on the sodas. Why not attack the super sized gatorade/powerade? How about the flavored waters that are full of sugar. If the politicians get their way on this it will just open the door for more laws.
Like petulant children we will rebel against stupid laws this should be stopped before it causes a reverse effect.

Although I'm all for people eating/being healthier, I think banning something like this is doing nothing but taking away more freedom from our country. Do you really want to be told what you can/can't eat or drink?

I think the ban is an excellent idea. I think laws should be in place to help us with our health especially for those of us who do not have great control over our eating habits, exercising, etc.
Problem is, people will still find a way to get their fix (i.e. drugs). Drugs are illegal however people still find a way to get them so...
Either way, I'm for it. In my area, McDonald's has shrunk their happy meal fry size. I took my sister to McDonald's yesterday and she was not too happy about the fry size in the happy meal. It is tiny and I could not be happier although I do not order my children their happy meal.
Thanks for sharing!
I can simplify my life and lighten my burdens by deciding realistically what I want to do and what I have time to do. (~_^)
