I'm finding lately that everyday is a challenge. Sometimes its difficult to motivate myself to get in my workout. I also notice that the first thing to skip is my food log...go figure. emoticon

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak emoticon

emoticon team for all your emoticon on my Lucky 777 Challenge... our 7th grandson was born July 22... 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21.25" he's healthy and happy. His 18 month old brother is thrilled to have a "mini-me". Mommy is going back to teaching next month and guess who gets to take care of the 2 under 2 pack???? Meeeeeeeeeeeeee well at least for a couple days a week. I'm so excited to be such a big part of their daily lives since I'm pretty sure this is the last of the grand-babies for us *sniff* *sniff* but a little freaked out because... let's face it... they are so young and I am old emoticon

I've looked at the calendar and this Wednesday, August 20th marks 100 days until Thanksgiving emoticon my favorite holiday... and autumn is my favorite season so starting Wednesday, 8/20/14, I'll be countin' down the 100 days to Thanksgiving and a healthier me. I'm still thinking about specific goals... love your Pray emoticon , Eat emoticon , Move emoticon goals ladies emoticon

I'm still working out on a regular basis, something that I hadn't done in quite some time. I'm enjoying doing yoga, this is also relatively new to me. And I'm trying to eat healthier and calm my sweet tooth. Oh and I just baked some sparkpeople peanutbutter oatmeal cookies from a recipe on the site. I plan on taking these with me today to my mom's and eat them 66cal . when I get that sweet craving. Now that's a plan.

Well I'm still exercising consistently. I do yoga daily and I'm starting to add some sort of aerobics. I've had a setback I've gained 2.2lbs. I plan on changing my food choices and try not to get tempted with sweets. emoticon I've been a bad girl so no one's fault but my own.

I believe this is where I am to announce my 100 day challenge. My challenge is inspired by Sunflowergal's theme. It really motivated me.

Pray: every morning
Eat: stay below 1500 calories and focus on nutrition
Move: a minimum of 10 minutes of heart rate pumping exercise

I intend to post each day's results here to be accountable. Right now a 100 days seems like a huge committment but I will work hard to make it happen!
Date of start: July 2, 2014
End date: October 9, 2014

I started out eating well today, but I ended up having to go out of town with a friend, and didn't get in the exercise I wanted to do.

Continue to eat healthy meals between 1200-1400 calories a day... I haven't been recording everything I eat/drink... that glass of wine or Margarita, those couple cookies mid afternoon, that small bowl of ice cream in the evenings just don't quite make it on my tracker emoticon So I'm recording everything now and staying below 1400 calories.. I'm fooling no one and only hurting myself so tweaking my goals a bit should help me drop the last 11.2 pounds I want to get off in the next 8 weeks emoticon

Today is day 1 for me again! My goal for the next 100 days is to get as many steps in each day as possible. I would like to get between 7,500 and 10,000 steps each day. Gonna keep it simple this time around so hopefully I will stick to it longer.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I have three parts to my 100 Day challenge. The first, part is to find something that makes me happy for the next 100 days. The second part is to exercise for the next 100 days (mins. Minimum). The third part is to do nothing healthy for the next 100 days (eat fruit, eat vegetables drink water etc.). I will also be Blogging about what I have accomplished as well.

We previously had a "check in" thread but it was not really a place to check off on goals. It was more a place to stop by each day and let us know how you are doing. That one kind of faded out as folks faded away. emoticon When I recently redid a lot of the threads to try to get folks back on track and involved I didn't leave that on here.

However, there are several places for celebrating victories and searching for encouragement. The most visited thread is the top one "Countdown to spring" where more people seem to stop by and report how they are doing each day or week.

Hope this answers your question and makes sense! emoticon This team thing is new to me so I'm always open to suggestions to make things better. So glad you are here with us!

I'm in for 12/11 -- I have tracked my food every day since August 1 - I think that's well over 100 days. As a result I have lost about 12 (recycled) pounds! emoticon My goals for the next challenge include tracking food, staying within calorie range and exercising - I will give myself some leeway for calorie one day/week and will rest from exercise one day/week. There are other things I want to do more consistently but I will add them in every 30 days -- baby steps....thanks for starting a new challenge, I needed this! emoticon

NITTINNANA I haven't checked in weekly as I promised either but the exercising is going very well emoticon Walktober was an excellent month to get my Spark Activity Tracker emoticon its been motivating to say the least although I found out I don't walk very much emoticon with two bad knees, so I've had to push myself which is a good thing.... emoticon this is sounding more like a "thorns and roses" post emoticon with more roses than thorns emoticon

So day 78 of 100... down 5 pounds, started up my strength training again, and pushing to get 2500+ steps in every day emoticon I feel stronger which = happier so thanks to Sparkpeople and this 100 day challenge I'm feeling emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm afraid I've really dropped the ball on this concept. I joined BLC23, and have found that to be consuming about all my SparkTime. I haven't really lost, but I haven't gained. I've done more ST now, with that challenge. And the good weather I've had has given me the chance to walk my legs off. I had one 12-mile day at the end of October, and I'll have another coming up Friday. Not looking forward to that one, though, because it will be pretty cold. Freeze warnings up for MN-7 tonight and tomorrow night. A bit warmer on Thursday night, though.

Hope the rest of the team is doing well, and I will stay in touch every now and then until BLC is over. Expect I'll be back in full force by mid-December.

~Pamela lives in Fulton, Missouri.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from The Lord, which made heaven and earth.

I am trying for consistency right now too. My exercise minutes were extremely slack in the month of August. I want to make up for that is September. emoticon

Checking in... well who knew that if you exercised regularly you could actually lose weight emoticon I've been doing gentle pool exercises EVERYDAY... now that's the key for me consistency and it's been easy because of the heat 95+ here since returning from vacation. Once it cools down I'll start walking again emoticon

#1 - Starting today, I'm not eating after supper. My live-in grandchildren need bedtime snacks; I do not. I've taken to eating again when I'm up after everyone else is in bed, and I'm not even making healthy choices. So I'd best just close the kitchen.

#2 - Starting today, I will walk a minimum of one hour daily. Monday - Friday are easy, because I get that in just walking my grandson Erik to and from school. I also have 2 dogs to walk. But I've just put the dogs in the back yard and done no walking on Saturdays or Sundays for about a month.

#3 - Starting today, I will commit to drinking at least 10 glasses of water today. I almost always get 7-8, but I've learned that I just feel better when I drink 10 consistently. Except for once when that was the goal on my Weekly Challenges team, I've been lax.

Enough for a first 100 days commitment!

Having just returned from our family camping trip I counted back 100 days from Thanksgiving and found that August 21st has become my new start date for "ROUND #5" emoticon

I know, I know... it's already August 27th BUT my challenge is to exercise every day and since we were putting in 30,000+ steps a day while on vacation I can actually count those days emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'll check in weekly to be accountable and cheer on my teammates emoticon emoticon Here we goooooooooooooo... BRING IT THANKSGIVING emoticon emoticon emoticon

Students have been back at school for a week. I am exhausted and overwhelmed and worked way too many hours all week...

Progress (or lack-there-of)

Goal 1: return to regular, daily exercise. Walking and light weights until I feel comfortable doing more. Allow myself time to heal from surgery, but not using it as an excuse
I've been walking some, but this week especially, I've been too tired to do much beyond work. When I am at school 10-11 hours a day, it is hard to exercise too.

Goal 2: drink 10+ 8oz glasses of water each day
Sometimes I do well with this and others it is a struggle

Goal 3: continue healthy eating, and improve on what isn't working.(once I can eat solid food)
Doing ok on this one. Just got the release on Thursday to start eating and chewing regular food after my jaw surgery in July.

Goal 4: In bed by 10:00pm, up at 5:00am.
Not quite making this one. I'll have to, though, if I am going to get back into the routine of going to the YMCA to workout in the mornings before school.

Goal 5: spend more time with the kids
At least my younger two girls are with me at school in the afternoons when I am staying so late! Before yesterday, I would have said that everyone was getting along better, but this weekend has been difficult. I guess we're all just exhausted!

Goal 6: Have fun and enjoy the experience of hosting a foreign exchange student
We are enjoying having our foreign exchange student here.

emoticon emoticon So glad to have you! It has been pretty quiet around here. I was afraid this team was at the end of its time BUT I am still a big believer in committing to a new habit or two for 100 days and then see where you are. So let's do it!

My 100 day challenge this time around is to focus on working out as that seems to be my biggest factor that determines my level of progress. So I am going to move every day even if it is a minimum of 10 minutes with my goal to be more.

I'm back for another 100 day challenge. I've finished grad school, found out I am moving schools/positions for the coming school year, gained 30lbs from mid-Dec to mid-Feb (8 weeks) and been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and am almost 2 weeks post-op from lower jaw surgery. My day 1 will be July 24, the day after my check-up with the oral surgeon and an appointment with an integrative health specialist and this will take me through Halloween. I go back to work on August 7, but will spend some time this week setting up my classroom before we go on vacation on Sunday.

Goals:
Goal 1: return to regular, daily exercise. Walking and light weights until I feel comfortable doing more. Allow myself time to heal from surgery, but not using it as an excuse
Goal 2: drink 10+ 8oz glasses of water each day
Goal 3: continue healthy eating, and improve on what isn't working.(once I can eat solid food)
Goal 4: In bed by 10:00pm, up at 5:00am.
Goal 5: spend more time with the kids
Goal 6: Have fun and enjoy the experience of hosting a foreign exchange student

I'm postponing previous 100 day challenge and opting for something the weather and back problems won't interfere with. I am challenging myself to eat grains x2 per day and freggies x5 per day.

Start: April 22 (blew it over the weekend)

Gardening/Outdoor work for my 100 day challenge.

This truly is a challenge for me. Our property is out on the windy, Colorado plains. It's hard to grow things here. The wind plays havoc, too, which can cause quite the mess. I am determined to get outside and work for at least 30 minutes per day to establish some plants and beautify the area around my house.

In the case I cannot get outside (weather or vacation) I will make up that time to equal 100 days.

I am returning after a few months away. For my 100 days I will do some form of exercise for at least 10 minutes a day. Actually I could ditto Leisa's post. I need to concentrate on my relationship with God in prayer and reading my Bible. The evil one knows exactly where to gain a foothold and since Christmas I have given him access and have been worried and anxious. For those the Lord has set free, they are free in deed! I am claiming freedom from worry and anxiety because they are not from the Lord, but the enemy.

Gettin' lean in 2013!

I'm trying to get back on the wagon after a lengthy falling off. Therefore, I am keeping it simple and sticking to what I know works for me. My focus is still pray, eat, and move. I am really focusing on the daily prayer & Bible time as well as a minimum of 10 minutes every day of moving. Most days I do more but I am trying to get a spark streak going of at least 10 minutes each day.

Well..... You wouldn't believe that my goals are also:

Pray, Eat, Move. This is a re-affirmation of my normal goals, although I've gotten distracted and haven't been consistent or focused lately.

Pray: Spend time each morning, 1st thing, to pray and spend time with God. I'm just starting "Living Beyond Yourself", by Beth Moore, so my current devotions will be in line with my study, and to "Pour Out, Pour In, and Pour forth", each day. Then I'll begin Jen Hatmaker's "An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess" In the areas of: Clothes, Shopping, Waste, Media, Stress, Possessions, and Food. And I'll continue my daily devotions from Max Lucado, and Rick Warren.

Eat: I am aiming for 5-7 freggies, mainly natural, clean, and un-processed, while always focusing on portion control.

Move: I will exercise 10+ min. daily, using a new variety of DVD's for cardio, st, dance, games, nature walks, and the elliptical.

And always maintain my balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Dear Lord, set my sights on You and Your great attributes. Help me to live in Your presence, dependent on Your guidance each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Haven't been back here to reflect recently, but I did finish my challenge.

I finished my classes for grad school, earning As in my last to classes and maintaining a 4.0 for my grad school coursework. Spring internship will finish me up to graduate in May!

I've maintained my water habit and have done ok with my eating. I ate too much over our Christmas beach trip, still healthier than those around me but not what works for me. Waiting out the sodium gain!

Once my classes wrapped up, I started going to the YMCA and working out again in the mornings. DH and I got each other a fitbit and the scale for Christmas, so we are getting started with that and he has started tracking his food, too! Huge step for him!

Once classes wrapped up, too, I have found more time with my kids. I have been getting in bed by 10:30 and am up before 6:00 (except since school's been out for break!)

I'll be spending some time thinking about my goals today and looking at what my new goals need to be. I'll post back later!
Goals:
Goal 1: Exercise when possible, focusing on walking and toning, aiming for 3 days per week
Goal 2: drink 10+ 8oz glasses of water each day
Goal 3: continue healthy eating, and improve on what isn't working.
Goal 4: In bed by 10:30pm, up at 6:00am.
Goal 5: spend more time with the kids
Goal 6: Complete research and grad school assignments on time.

Update on my 100 Day Challenge is this:

1) Read, study & meditate on the Bible EVERY MORNING first thing and last thing EVERY NIGHT!

****** I am now in the habit of doing this morning and night

2) Exercise EVERY MORNING by doing crunches & squats

****** Still working on doing this.

3) Prep for the day

****** I'm going to get this going no later than the new year

4) Get into the housework - 15 minutes at a time, 3x/hour, with 15 minutes for ME EVERY HOUR

****** This is becoming more and more the habit I need it to be

5) DO NOT GET ON THE COMPUTER TIL EVENING HOURS!!!!!

****** this one is still a very tough one

6) Have breakfast EVERY morning

****** usually good about this but not since Christmas week have I done it regularly. Will begin again in new year if not sooner

7) Have 64 oz. of water EVERY DAY BEFORE 10:30 pm

****** This has become a habit now .... one where I miss it when I miss doing it.

Oh my goodness, I forgot about this challenge but I think I'm doing pretty well with it. Here's an update on my progress:

My 100 Day Challenge is this:

1) Read, study & meditate on the Bible EVERY MORNING first thing and last thing EVERY NIGHT!

****** Working on this. Getting better at it. Doing one or the other but have to work on doing both times of the day!

2) Exercise EVERY MORNING by doing crunches & squats

****** I'm actually doing this at night. Working on getting in the habit of exercising every morning. Will keep on working at it til I succeed!

3) Prep for the day

****** Yesterday was the first day I did this. Didn't do it today but am aware of the fact that I have to begin doing this. Called a new beginning.

4) Get into the housework - 15 minutes at a time, 3x/hour, with 15 minutes for ME EVERY HOUR

****** Did this last three days so I'm trying to incorporate this into daily schedule.

5) DO NOT GET ON THE COMPUTER TIL EVENING HOURS!!!!!

****** this one is tough but I actually did it today for the first time. will continue to work on doing this every day!

6) Have breakfast EVERY morning

****** I've been doing this pretty consistently.

7) Have 64 oz. of water EVERY DAY BEFORE 10:30 pm

****** This has become a habit now .... one where I miss it when I miss doing it.
