I agree...if the prima donna players are upset with the choice, I am suddenly in favor it. I've said enough about how I feel about this entire organization, not just the players, the administration, too, who wanted nothing more than to distance themselves from this mess once it unravelled. They are going to have to win me back. I might keep a closer eye now, just to see the shape they show up in to camp and the attitudes they bring with them.
I'm also happy that Terry Francona got a job. I think he'll be fun to listen to on ESPN. He's such a class act.
It's not a diet, it's not exercise, it's a way of life. Period.
It's going to be some day in Boston when Bobby V. shows up in the dugout wearing his nose and fake glasses......

One thing I do like about Bobby V is his technical knowledge of the game (at least what I heard on SNB). Hopefully some of these malcontents will get off their high horses and give the guy a chance!

Final Goal Weight = 179
I agree we do need to give him a chance. That said, Valentine doesn't strike me as much of a team player, and I hope Cherington can manage his new manager.

Make it three! I despise Bobby Valentine and always have. But I do agree with the guys on the Over the Monster blog, that we should give him a chance before we fire him!
I know we all feel a little kicked in the guts by these guys; we support and root and pay for them to play and they pretty much thumbed their noses at the fans with their antics and horrific performance in both April and September.
I'm trying to be positive and trying to look at next year as a new page in this book I've been reading for such a long, long time!

I'm right there with you. Not a fan of Valentine, from way back when he managed the Rangers. But he might be just what this team needs. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that 2012 is not going to be a fun year to be a Red Sox fan. I've extremely disappointed in some of these players.

I'm not a fan of showboating Bobby V, but if the players don't like him, I like the choice. From ESPN:
"They're going to have a mess on their hands," the source said when asked what would happen if Valentine, who at that time was just one of several candidates, was hired.
ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney had heard similar rumblings, citing sources Wednesday saying that "some Red Sox players have been upset" that Valentine had emerged as a candidate and have been "grumbling to each other, through texts and phone calls."
These over paid, under performing malcontents needd a kick in the butt.
Piss some of these guys off Bobby. I'm still pissed off at them.
