Thanks for you all of your replies! What I'm actually looking for food-for-food substitutions.
Like, when Sandraregina said she substitutes salted carrots (eventually carrots eliminating the salt) for chips.
As an example, fill in the blank:
When I crave _____ I eat _____ instead.
ex: When I crave chocolate I eat ______ instead
or: When I crave ice cream, I eat ______ instead.
I've heard that eggs are a good substitute for ice cream--has anyone found this to be true?
I'm looking for healthy food substitutions that take care of specific junk food cravings, not just snack suggestions. And preferably ones that people have found to actually work, not just ones they've heard about
Not that I don't like the suggestions and discussions--I'm just looking for very specific help in this area.
I hope that all makes sense....?
