I was feeling the same things, Patti, until I did my monthly measurements this morning. I lost 2 inches in my waist and around my chest. I was stunned, but thrilled.

We CAN do this!

Thanks Audrey! I am very happy with these results and need to listen to my own advice and ignore the what the scale is saying. Just frustrating at times. I looked on my fitness page and there is nothing saying I need to update my fitness/calorie intake. So I guess I'm ok. I will continue to monitor that as I go along to make sure I'm on the right track. Thanks again for the help! emoticon

Ah... I think I could only dream of not having a muffin top anymore.

If you input your fitness into the fitness tracker, you should get a good estimate as to how many calories you're burning. If you're burning more than you should be for your recommended calorie budget a red warning will come up at the bottom of the screen instructing you to update your fitness goals. When you do that, it will alter the recommended calorie intake. That should optimize your weight loss efforts.

Congratulations on your inches lost! That's wonderful!

~Audrey

Yes, my b/f was helping me by taking my measurements. But it wasn't all over the map. When I started the challenge I took all my measurements. From the beginning I have lost the following inches throughout: .5 inch around my waist, my hips an entire inch, 1.25 in around my chest, .75 in around my thighs, .5 around my calf and no notable change around my upper arm. So there is significant loss in certain areas. I use to have to wear control top underwear beneath my jeans and dress pants, but now I do not have to. I couldn't even button those pants without wearing them. I have barely any muffin top left and the thighs actually have room to breath. So I am very happy about that. I just wanted to make sure I was working toward my goal of losing the fat. Thanks!

Hi Patti, the scale doesn't always tell you the whole story. Building muscle is very important and the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism is and the more calories you can eat. The way your clothes are now fitting is a good sign that you are losing inches. Have you been measuring yourself as well as stepping on the scale?

Gabi

Thank you Lord for blessing our steps all the way to the end.

I believe I am on both accounts. I have always had trouble with counting calories and keeping track. But Sparkpeople makes it much easier. I am going to work on measuring everything exactly and be more accurate in that aspect. As far as knowing if I am burning to many calories, how do I check that to know for sure? Thank you for your help!

Well it could be that, though it does seem unlikely. Are you staying within your calorie budget and not burning too many calories?

I've been working on losing some weight since September. I do not have a ton to lose, maybe 30 at the most. Well I have not lost an ounce of weight. But I have lost several inches in different places. Now, I know I've been building muscle and toning b/c I can see the difference in my body as well as how my clothes fit. I'm worried about the fact that I have lost any weight, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. Is it possible I am gaining enough muscle or toning to not make the scale budge? I am still losing b/c my clothes are fitting loser, right? I hate the scale and always have, but from the way my body looks now compared to what it looked like in September...you would think my scale would have moved at least a little! LOL So I was just wondering about the muscle building part of the healthy road. Thank!!
