Hi all: sticking to the calories, water, taking my blood sugar etc. daily. I am losing weight but am having trouble with the exercise. The darned arthritis gets in the way. My plans are to start walking on Monday and then do the Jan videos. I should be pretty warmed up by then and easier to move. Having fun being accountable and looking forward to the weight coming off finally.

Keep up the good to work, it will get easier as time passes, and before you know it, the part you are struggling with now will only be your warm up part, and you will be challenging yourself to do more in no time.
Can definitely understand getting a slow start on this challenge, and how discouraging that can be. I was late to begin with when I signed up. However, I still signed up for this challenge, because I could tell I needed some help. I was getting so run down and winded, I figured I must be getting so out of shape instead of in shape with all the walking I was doing. Then the fever and week and a half migraine hit. It was finally the migraine that got me to the ER, and I was so surprised to find out that I had viral pneumonia. I didn't have a cough until they started putting a lot of meds into me. About a week in the hospital, and then a week out, I feel like I have been run through the ringer, and still have not begun. (The day I was going to begin was the day I ended up going to the hospital.) So, I am running late too. I finally signed in today with the idea that I would just quit this challenge, because I wasn't doing anything with it. But reading what you all had to say has made me change my mind. I will still stay on this team and will begin to try to get my health back - along with doing what I can. I might still have to wait a few more days until I am up for it, but I will go ahead and begin at some point. I have really been encouraged. Thank you all for your posts. Our health may be holding us back at times, but we don't have to lay down and give up. We can do what we can when we can - until we do reach our goals. Not giving up is half the battle. Blessings on you all, K
I guess I'm not the only one having trouble keeping up posts.
This month of Jan. has been an up & down month. The weather changes so quickly here in central OH, USA, that my body doesn't know whether it's fatigued, sore, achy or otherwise displeased at being bounced around. To put it simply, I'm fatigued & in pain.
However, I have been watching what I eat, & "moving" on the good days...
I hope everyone is doing well.
Peace & blessings.
I fell off the wagon. I backslid a few pounds. It became apparent that I need to watch what I'm eating, especially during the holidays. FORWARD!
I slid back to goal #2 - 170. I've reached my second goal & am on my way to goal #3, 165 lbs again.
I hope that you're feeling better! I definitely understand migraines. I've actually started getting them again and go back to my ENT dr tomorrow to try to figure out what's causing them again...I'm a teacher & find that the lights in the classroom bother me....my bet is that it's them. Get well soon!!
I'm not having trouble keeping up, I'm having trouble remembering what day I'm on. I had to do 2 of them today cause I repeated yesterdays, I thought while I was doing it , oh she must have put this one in twice...lol duh, until I read the side lines. Oh boy

Maybe it's because I'm new to this site, but keeping up with this one group challenge is about all I handle without getting overwhelmed. I see people's sparkpages and they belong to a zillion groups and as many challenges and I just don't know how they do it. I have to keep it simple or else I'll get frustrated and lose my motivation. I've joined this January Challenge and I'll be proud of myself when I complete it. Then on to the next challenge. Kind of like this journey....one day at a time with one foot in front of the other.

Please include me. I am having trouble keeping up. These challenges seem so fast moving. It seems that by the time I get up to speed with what is going on, they move to something new. My posts are usually so out of date and I can't delete them. "Good Grief Charlie Brown"
Then I will give you the push you need. I'm happy to see that you are taking the initiative to put yourself first. You are worth it, and keep your goals attainable. I have set 20 lbs goals for myself so that I am not overwhelmed. I have reached my first 20 lb loss and am now working on my next twenty. Good luck with your weight loss journey you can do it.

I also joined the "nutrition" accountability part of this month's challenge and there are so many posts on this month so far that it's nearly impossible to find. I have been able to find it by clicking on the link throught my spark mail. Finding it through the actual forum is really hard. Thanks for the advice!

I'd love to! I need a little accountability. Would you be open to text communication or only spark communication. Its when I'm not on spark and busy with life that I forget so a friendly reminder text would save me some days.
What do you mean the forum feed? Are you talking about the "Track Goals" area? If so, go to the main page and scroll all the way down to the Team Goals area. When you click on Track Goal it will take you to your goal page and you can track all of your goals there. Or go to the "My Trackers" at the top of any page and then to the Other Goals tab.

I have done these group challenges before and always get behind on documenting my progress even when I am continuing to do my goals. Anyone want to be a partner so we can remind each other when to record things. And maybe keep each other focused.
