For me, it's not the winning the prize or not because as everyone else said, our results are our prizes. It's the feeling that we are somehow second rate participants because we weren't eligible for the whole banana. I know that it can't be THAT onerous because magazines like Sew News manage to include jurisdictions which don't specifically prohibit contests. And as for directing all their energies into the site--could some of it go to changing the monthly calendars of activities that date to 2007??

If it's not hunger, food won't fix it.

I'm Canadian too, and it's disappointing that we're ineligible for prizes. Couldn't there be an "international" prize as well? We support Spark People too! (And why can't there be SparkCanada, with Canadian city trackers, like there's SparkAmerica? But I'm getting off-topic.)

I'm doing this challenge for me, but the opportunity to win the prize incentives would have been nice. I wish SP would try harder to support their non-American Sparkers.

It is unfortunate for sure, I am from Alberta Canada and it would be lovely to win the sparkpeople cookbook....oh well haha, I think If I won the Ipad it would give me just one more reason to sit around and not do anything so maybe it is for the best, I think If I will be able to see results, that will be enough of an award for me!

I joined because of the challenge, not knowing I was inelligible because I'm Canadian, but having now read the rules have decided that I'm doing this for me, not for a prize. I need to gain a better understanding of how my body works and believe that this challenge will jumpstart my activities for the year.

Wishing you all the best of luck in this challenge.

I think I can, I think I can. woo woo

Beth - You are the sweetest person ever!! LOL. Thank you :)

Karen - I agree, it would be great to even pass the prize along if we were to win. It would be great to have that option! By the way, where in Germany do you live? My brother lives in Southern Germany right now and I have lots of relatives in the north. I speak the language but am fairly rusty... though I am trying to practice whenever I can.

i agree with you i live in germany iand i did mentuion this to spark guy once and he said it had something to do with the lands legigation as to why they can´t send it to out of america but i wonder if they can not still put us in for the prizes and we can give him one of our fellow sparkfriends name that they become the prize.i have a couple of spark friends at the moment who are struggling and becoming a prize in the post might be just the thing to perk them up and help them back on track.

So if I randomly win a prize at the end of this challenge, can I pretend I'm my cousin who lives in the states?? LOL. (seriously, though)

It's sad that us friendly Canadians (and other residents of the world) are excluded from the prizes... I would LOVE to get a win a copy of the SparkPeople Cookbook or the iPad2!!, but due to paperwork issues cannot... sigh.

I will be participating anyway because my health and fitness is the best prize possible but would love to find a way around the "legal" limitations of the actual contest... anyone?
