I study Karate Budo, but my school throws in katas from other martial arts after black belt rank.
Looks interesting! I can't imagine trying to learn how to say the forms with a real Japanese accent, let alone a French trying to speak Japanese accent! That's just too many layers of difficulty for my little brain. LOL!

I know some, because the Nisei style has a few things in common with Shotokan. Our katas are Heian Shodan; Pinan Shodan, Nidan, Sanda, Yandan and Godan; Sanchin; Tekki Shodan, Nidan and Sandan: Yuwa's Basic (which I believe is unique Nisei); Basai-Dai; Empi; and Rohei. That's up to first level black belt. Hope it helps!
It may seem difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first. -Miyamoto Musashi
Laughing 100 times is the equivalent to 10 minutes on the rowing machine or 15 minutes on an exercise bike! http://library.thinkquest.org/25500/in dex2.htm
Tonight I went to my 1st training in Shotokan. It is similar to my previous style, Tang Soo Do.
Does any one else train in this style? I am hoping someone does and can tell me the names of the katas at least...you see, I am currently living in France and the class is taught in French, which I barely speak right now. Which makes it...interesting...to understand (commands given in French accented Japanese :-)
