I contacted a trainee yesterday
She will show me how to work with the machines in the local fitness place.
This will be better than having 3 women telling me I am doing wrong
For people 10 years older than me it can seem like I am working out too hard.
But it will be good to know what is the right thing for me.
Anyway when a prof takes time on ME I should respond by taking
time ON MYSELF.. So I hope this will help me over my breaks

I really get tired of it
I better focus more on exercise.
About kilo and joule: I can convert easily on my mobilephone which is a very simple phone where I donīt even have a camera. Just sms and calls

Tracking food does use a lot of time and keystrokes. Sometimes I might eat the same thing more or less for breakfast or lunch, so I just transfer the whole meal into that next days breakfast or lunch.
If you are eating the same items from meal to meal, the program sometimes suggests what the food item is before you finish typing it all in. emoticon

It was so good to find this topic.The stress was building yesterday, because it was taking so long to enter foods on my ancient computer. I am seriously saving to upgrade to an i-phone with the app!
Many New Zealand labels give kilojoules, not calories so I need to calculate a lot,if I use existing lists..
I decided it was quicker in the long run, taking the time to enter food groups and favourites,rather than searching through so many brand names and repetitions in the tracker, with so many items not available locally.
When I'm busy, I put the packaging nutritional labels in a box by the computer, and catch up after dinner, and I schedule catch up sessions while I'm watching Gok repeats over the weekend.

I weigh 223lbs not kilos, but I can't get my ticker to change!

I love using the nutrition tracker. Most things I've recorded myself, as I've found from time to time when I've used someone elses tracking, it wasn't accurate. I want it to be as correct as possible. I find when I go to a banquet of some kind, that is the most difficult to record. I do my best at finding things in the search, and doing it the best I can. I believe deeply in the food tracker. It has changed my life around for the better. emoticon

During the work week it is a little more easier. I usually eat the same thing Monday through Friday for breakfast. Monday through Friday is usually a made sack lunch. I have been encouraged having Diabetes, that I am to eat 3 squares of fairly equal calories and made up of acceptable ranges of protein, carbs, and fat. Spark people helps me monitor this ambitious program.

Right now I am trying different ways of making bread.
Some of the ingredients are different in Denmark than US (havreklid i called oat bran, danish and is not in the tables)
This project making bread with 50% seed shells gives a lot more magnesium than normal bread and flour.
Fish balls I often buy finished. It tells the calories on the package but not all ingredients. I also have recipies for making them from scratch. These are a lot better than what I can buy.

It would be fantastic if it could be possible once to meet in US and make a combined art and healthy food and exercise project in 10 days. With 10 or 14 participants where we each plan a thing to contribute to the event.

Frida you know you can add food. Especially if you know what they are calorie wise. On the food tracker under search it is "food not listed". Just click on that and add the nutrition you know for the Fish balls (sounds kind of yum). You can then share with the rest of us also so we can benefit from the knowledge. :)

It may take time to calculate my own recipes but there is worth doing because it only has to be done once and then added to my favorites.
Another time saver is the 'favorites' list.

Would love to hear more ideas from Sparkers.

You can build your own recipes got to "recipes" and press access recipe calculator and go from there. It takes a bit of time but worth it, then you can add the recipe to your favorites or try and find a recipe with similar ingredients. cheers Jan

As I live in Denmark I eat things you donīt
Like brown full grain rye bread
Fish meat balls of around 40 g each etc .
I know how much calories etc there are in most of the food.
But how kan I get these items in the scheme?

I noticed that you hit the 200 mark. It is so exciting to move from the 200's to ONEderland. I am thrilled for you. I bet you will be in that land on your next weigh in!!! Way to go!

I pretty much do the same - track at the beginning or the end of the day. One thing I have found helps is that I plan my evening meals at the beginning of the week and then put them straight onto my tracker in one go (saves time over the rest of the week). Also when it comes to breakfasts and lunches, I usually find I rotate similar meals so make sure the regularly used ingredients are in my favourites. Lastly it can help to create a recipe/group some ingredients together for meals you tend to put together on a regular basis. Hope this is helpful!

hI

Put things you eat more often in your favourites, that makes it quicker, then choose your basic food for the day all at once. Yes it does take a bit of time but well worth it. But it does get faster. Keep it up. I plan my meals either the night before or in the morning before I eat anything. Hope this helps Jan
