I am down one more pound, and I'm contented with that. Sometimes, losing 3 or 4 lbs in one week feels like riding a bike down a very steep hill--thrilling, but almost scary to the point that I want to hit the brakes or jump off!

CHUBBYFENCER, you have moved from gaining weight to losing a pound in a week! So that is actually down two pounds or so from where you would have been otherwise! Well done! More important, does your changing lifestyle leave you feeling good? Intuitive eating is working for me. Weight still stable, and I have escaped Counting cals. I am counting vegs strictly, aiming for five portions, and keeping track of grains and protein

I'm with you ....just keep telling myself to not give up. Eating good and exercise has got to be doing something good....ha. But, like you I sure wish the scale would show some pounds dropping off.

I've only been on Sparkpeople for 10 days now. In that time, after suggestions from several other Sparkers, I just started with tracking what I'm already eating, though I admit to trying to cut the portions down.
I also have been working hard to take a short walk every day and purchased an aerobics video. It's only 25 minutes, but considering that last month I wasn't doing ANYTHING, and my weight was on the rise? This is a lot of progress for me.
I have only lost 1 lb, though, which is dejecting. But I know I'll start to see more progress now that I have made other changes I feel like I can keep up.

Hi, I'm new to this team. I started spark in Dec. and only did it for a couple weeks. I was losing pretty good. A little at a time. This past month has been emotionally challenging and I see that I have gained a couple pounds back and I'm not feeling to well about my self. Mostly lonely. Thought this accountability and group might help the process so I am here to give it a try. More shall be revealed. Have a good week!

I had a slight gain last week and expected to have a loss. But after reading information I realized that I did not meet my daily requirements which I now realize is important. Being away last week contributed to skipping meals although I made the right choices when I could. So now I'm back and I've stepped over that bump in the road I will be better this week and will have a successful loss next week. It use to bum me out when I didn' lose and had a gain but I realize now it's not only what you eat but also what you don't eat that accounts for that. I would have to say that just being more aware is definitely a positive for me and leading me in the right direction.

I also had a weight gain of 1 pound...It does get discouraging it seems to take alot of exercise and calorie watching to loose 1 pound and nothing to gain .....so unfair...ha. Well, the only thing I can think to do is go get on the treadmill and hope for a better week....Wishing you a great week also.

I've had an emotional past week. I also had a slight gain, skipped meals didn't have the opportunity to track or the inspiration from Spark People. Being out of town for the past week was challenging. I attempted to make the right choices when I could. In the past I would have just given up with a slight weight gain but instead today, reading that others have had the same struggles as I did, gave me encouragement and helped pick me up over the small bump in the road that I came too. I realize that success is not handed to you on a silver platter but something that you need to work towards and I intend to do just that.
Hugs

I am feeling really good today about my loss. I have not been coming in that much at all for a while so needless to say I started to go up in weight. Last Monday I weighed myself and I was up to 387.4. Now today I weighed myself after being on a new tone and fat loss vitamin program,,, and watching the things I was eating and today I am 382.4 so that means I am down 5 pounds.. I will take that any week. I know next week it will probably be less pounds down but at least the scale is going in the right direction finally. You all have a great day.

Im not feeling good about my progress at all. 14 weeks in and maybe 2 pounds down. I say maybe because last week I lost 2lbs but this week I stepped on the scale and it was up 2 then down 1 or 2. I couldnt get an accurate reading. Im feeling very defeated.

I've joined this team to see if it will motivate me to start weighing in again every week, I stopped weighing in every week (monthly instead) because I get discouraged by not seeing any results on the scale. I seem to have hit a plateau with only 3kg still left to go. At least I lost some centimeters when I measured myself this morning, that gives me hope.
I also think I should start doing something new, exercise wise, I've been doing the exact same thing since December 2012. I think I'll do some research on the internet and search for plateau breaking workouts, before I decide to do a healthy detox, maybe different exercise will do the trick first.
Make Healthy Choices, weight loss is just a side effect.

I seem to have hit a plateau. I lost 74 pounds and then for some reason I seem to have started gaining weight back. I still work out and track what I eat. I am never over my goals. I don't know if it just water weight over the last 2 weeks or what but it is starting to frustrate me.

I was pretty upset with myself about putting back on all the weight I had lost and then some. I am now feeling better. I stopped beating myself up about it and now I am getting back on track to take that weight off. It is not fun as I feel fatter than I did before! It has been difficult moving around and so it is a constant reminder of what I have done to myself. Now it is time to get moving forward and get that weight off!

Your goal is not to starve yourself. NO-NO-NO. You're doing great. Look from where you were until now. Let me give you a little ti-bit. Drinking water is another way of losing a little. First of all, don't gulp yourwater sip it slowly no straws, that will give you air in your stomach which adds to bloating. Don't drink ice water that will increse your appetite. Also I found that when you are breathing, breathe through your nose not your mouth. Seriously, went through some web sites and they mention about how you breath during exercising. I hope that these thing's will help you, but don't starve yourself. PLEASE. GOD BLESS YOU & GOOD LUCK TOWARD'S YOUR GOAL.

for the past month my weight keeps fluctuating btwn 173 and 175 so that seems to be getting discouraging even though I keep exercising so I don't know why I just can't lose the weight. I'm averaging 45 minutes 5 days per week, was doing 6 but was feeling like to much with no progress so as of this week I decided to change it to 5 days per week. Can someone help please with what they eat and what exercises they do that helps them lose weight?

I am soooo not happy with myself this week. I went to the gym Monday and Thursday and did a full workout 2 hours and walked with my grandsons for a mile and a half two other days but last night I went NUTS and ate half of a bag of Oreo cookies. I don't even know why. Last night I had a overdose of carbs and had a headache from hell and I still have it. I had made myself a bracelet that said self worth but that is not doing the trick. I need to make one that says something that kicks me in the butt when I see it.
