Thanks, TheBlondeGenius. That is probably the reason why. I think it may be that I need to exercise more.

MIMMICA, recognizing your triggers is a great start. You can do this! Get on that horse and RIDE!!

KDADAIR, maybe try tracking every bite and every move for a solid week? That might give you some insight into what's going on. You've got this!

I have been on an eat-o-rama tour for the last week -- not sure exactly what the trigger was, but thinking that it's the changes that have taken place in the office.

I need to take control of this as soon as possible. My boomerang pounds are back! UGH.

I spent a lot of years at 200 plus and have been in the low 160's now for several years now. Even though my goal is 140, I am feeling pretty good about my health. I love to exercise and feel really good about my exercise routines. I am eating a whole lot healthier, but sometimes I overdo the food. Going to be working on that now. Overall, though, I feel great and know I can continue to feel even greater.

Way to go, Cath!

I'm 7 lbs from my goal weight now. I'm starting to think ahead to going into maintenance mode, which is where I've come up short in the past. I'm planning to succeed this time!

Feeling positive today - Monday is my re-dedication to the diet day. I make 100% sure to meet my goals and to think a bit about where I have come from and where I am going to with my weight. It is also weigh in day. 67kg - so 1 kg less than last week.

I am now 9kg down from when I started actively trying to lose weight and 11kg down from my heaviest. My comfy jeans don't fit at all, my too tight trousers are baggy, my bras no longer pinch and poke and I had to buy all new pants as the old ones kept sliding down. I have plans for a new summer wardrobe but still 3kg to go to goal weight so am holding off buying much. I did have to grab a couple of new t-shirts and a pair of jeggings as I was really running low but I bought very cheap with the intention of replacing once I get to goal.

Added to all this slimming I am moving more - sit-ups, squats, arm exercises, jogging, dancing, walking, cycling. Not a huge amount of everything but something everyday.

I have also ditched the ready meals, the take-outs, the oven chips, the biscuits (well mostly), the massive bowls of pasta. I am focused on veg, lean protein and portion control. I have also finally accepted that the odd bit of what you fancy really does do you good so on the weekend I make less healthy choices but still watch my portions.

The difference is immense. I feel energetic, sexy, I like how I look for the first time in years, I enjoy my food much more. I just have to remind myself occasionally that this is not a diet it is a lifestyle change and there is no going back.

I like having lemon in my water, and was doing that for a while back in September and October.

I even have fresh lemons at home. I just can't seem to pick up that bottle of water once it's been filled. It gets moved around on my desk until I finally put it out of the way (I've spilled enough on my desk and paper work to know better!)

I am doing a lot of eating lately, and I'm not sure why. I am going to have to sit down and really dig deep to figure out what it is that's making my brain want to stuff my belly.

Some people take more easily to chilled water.
If you keep 1 or more large soda, cordial or other bottle/s of water in the refrigerator, it will be both cold and easier to monitor have much you have.

ps I always keep a bottle of lemon juice(from the supermarket) available & put a small squirt in each glass of water.

All great ideas.

It's not that I don't like water, it's that I don't remember to drink it.

I've got three cups in now, and am working on the next three. I have a refillable bottle that I use at the office.

Maybe set an alarm on your phone or computer? If you don't care much for water, try spritzing a little lemon or lime juice into it, or even dropping a few frozen berries into it for a few minutes before you drink it.

Thanks Donna.

Wednesday turned out to be a great day all around.

I'm still feeling bloated from all the sodium I ate over the weekend, likely because I haven't been drinking my water.

Today's mission is to finish all 8 cups of water. (I'm having trouble with this one little, but extremely important thing.)

Have a fantastic day All!

Did not meet my 6000 steps yesterday. I haven't done a sync with my tracker yet, to see how many steps I did take.

I wanted to see how many steps I take on a regular day on a weekend (yesterday was a holiday), so I could compare it with a work day.

Was ravenous again last night, so I ate croutons -- not the best choice to make, and today I am feeling the water retention that I get from too much sodium.

Today is off to a good start.

Have a great day!

After the Easter weekend, my weight spiked a bit. But I was very conscious of what I ate, why I ate it, and tracked it all! I know that starchy carbs (breads/heavy taters/etc), sodium, and booze cause a very quick and drastic spike in weight. Hello dirty martini and bread pudding!

Today I am back on track eating healthfully and mindfully. We'll see what the scale does after a good clean day of whole foods, tons of water, and some serious gym time!

A non-scale victory: I bought my first size 12 capris for spring and they are cute, tight, and white! Woohoo! Hoepfully the rest of my size 14 jeans will get bigger and bigger and I'll have to go shopping again ;-D

I'm down 2 lbs... but they're still those pesky boomerang pounds that I keep dropping and gaining... Still, I'm happy that they're gone... and I don't plan on letting them come back.

Feeling great. Need to put a bit more effort into controlling the eating today, but I don't foresee any problems, since I'm still feeling a tad uncomfortable from the food I ate yesterday (and I was only about 500 calories over... ugh).

Have a great day!

A bit down in the dumps. Scale is NOT moving, in spite of working really hard at keeping my calories between 1200-1300 and exercising for 30-50 minutes a day. I know my first four weeks were incredible (19 pounds in the first four weeks) but nothing now for nearly two weeks is a bit hard to swallow! I DO feel better, stronger from my daily exercise - we hiked as a family on Good Friday, and I didn't even get out of breath on the steep climbs (FitBit showed I'd climbed 42 flights of stairs - just from all the up and down). I know plateaus come, but I just don't want them to come to me!

While I was active yesterday walking just shy of 7 miles. Too bad I stopped for a sandwich (patty melt) and soup. Too bad I had 2 beers. I guess it was better to just take care of the craving. But otherwise I did manage to stay in my calorie range so I shouldn't be too upset.

Yesterday was a bad day for eating for me.

I was like a bottomless pit. I made frequent trips to the kitchen, and even though I told myself that I wasn't really hungry, that I was just looking for food for some other reason (probably for comfort), but I had no control.

I ate all of my calorie intake for the day by 2 p.m.. Finally decided that if I was going to eat, I should eat fruits or vegetables, which is what I did.

Today is going to be a better day!

How do I feel about my progress? I could do better if I wouldn't sabotage myself (1 day).I recently became so frustrated because I had to drop the fitness program for now due to the worst case of sciatica I've ever had. But moving beyond that for now and focusing on the scale. Losing extra weight is one of the best things I can do for the lower back/sciatica problem for now. I know the extra weight can be a contributor.
Muscle relaxants and arthritis strength tylenol helps some, but not sleeping well at all.
I always get through this, and I will again. emoticon

Tracking everything and hoping for a lbs. lost report on Friday. emoticon

Sorry for the woe is me post.

Managed 2 days of exercise and down 1kg (2.2ponds) over same time period.
Having Sunday lunch with extended family today, so this will be a challenge, as my wife is a great cook.

I'm re-evaluating my eating plan. If I'm going to meet my new goal, I'm going to have to narrow my focus just a little. Let's do this!

My weight peaked (got higher than I wanted it to be) so I started a disciplined diet.
1 day later I am down 0.4kg or 0.9 lb so I am heading in the right direction.
(even if initial weight-loss is just fluid)

Its always exciting and rewarding to move down to a smaller clothing size
(just as it is frustrating and demoralising to keep moving up in sizes)

First post here!
Weigh-in from the last few days has been 187.2 - down from 192... It's been an extremely slow process and I've been frustrated with the stagnant number. I see the change in my body, feel the strength when I lift, and am faster and can go longer when I run. Although I recognize all of the non-scale victories, it is still tough when the fat loss isn't quantifiable.

Anyhoo, just have to keep pushing forward!

I have been doing so much better with my exercise than my weight loss. The ticker and being on a team has been so helpful to me. I know I can change my ticker to lbs. lost but I'm not ready to let go of my fitness minutes ticker yet. emoticon

I was thinking how great it would be to have the option of two tickers. emoticon

So, anyway, I've been struggling this week. I don't expect a weight loss to show on Friday. But I'm not giving up. Not ever! I'm going to get this right. emoticon emoticon

Not sleeping well is a killer! It's also really bad news for weight loss efforts (as I'm sure you know). I'm proud of you for hanging in there and vowing to get your exercise done, but be sure you get some rest, too. Your body is probably freaking out!

2 weeks without any weight loss. Last week was especially bad because I was barely sleeping and didnt work out at all. Tonight Im going for a run even if I cant keep my eyes open. I cant back track.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
