A year ago Sept 1 2013 I hit my goal.
Today Sept 1, 2014 I have reached a full year of maintaining and staying at and mostly below my goal. Thank you to the many people I never knew before who went to my page and spurred me on. I've been a member of SP for a long time and I can truly say it is a place to feel good while struggling with others to lose weight and gain good health and meet wonderful people.
How do I feel? Wonderful!!
Hugs,
Lee

Today-not good. I am hoping my increase is water weight. If not i have put 6 back on so I really need to get back in line. We will see what tomorrow's weigh in brings.

I can do it with your help!

I have come to realize that I am too focused on what the scale says so I am setting a goal to weigh in once a week instead of every day. I get discouraged when I see it go up and down on a daily basis. Am hoping that a weekly weigh in will be less frustrating.

I am very pleased with my journey to lose weight and eat healthy! I have lost nearly 10 pounds since joining SP and nearly 20 since the end of March when I started using Plexus. I have since stopped taking the Plexus and have only been eating GF and watching my intake and output! WhoooHooo.. I love SP!

Feeling good. But am dangerously close to goal. One more week to hit that one year of below goal maintenance. I know it is just a marker of progress but sure don't want to go over.
I am below and hope next weigh in on Sept 1 I can be even a bit more below! emoticon

Aaaaaah! I love that turtle! Since I have been on a stuck plateau of over two years and now I am very slowly going down is is still discouraging emoticon emoticon . I had hoped to go down about one pound a week and reach my goal in a year but it seems to be ounce by ounce. I did weigh on Monday but because we have company did not take the time to register, but I have finally got below the 180 emoticon and will go into my profile and register it right away. What is that old quote, slow and steady always wins the race? emoticon I will not give up even though it is soooooooooo slow. emoticon

Lost 48 pounds since mid Jan 2014 and feeling good about it. But since surgery in June there has been no exercise and little movement so not sleeping as well, so since then I am tired and bored so therefore I think I am hungry all the time which I am not.

Looking forward to a whole new me!

I feel good. I am very close to a year of maintaining below goal. However, do to some health issues, I've had to cut way back on exercises. I realize I must get back to more consistent workouts to help maintain good health. emoticon

I'm feeling pretty good. I've been maintaining consistency with my workouts. I also have been drinking a green drink as a meal replacement. I also have continued practicing at least 30 minutes of yoga, to get in my zen zone early in the morning. And I've lost 6 pounds since joining this team. Go Team!! emoticon emoticon

Flutter,

My new go-to breakfast is an unflavored gluten-free oat & quinoa hot cereal, which I supplement by adding flax and chia seeds (about 1 tbsp each), raw honey, apple pie spice (mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice) and a little coconut oil. It keeps me full for several hours, and since the cereal comes in little pre-measured packets, it's super easy to put together. I usually eyeball about a teaspoon of coconut oil and a couple of teaspoons of honey. It comes out very flavorful, and tastes better than the pre-flavored instant oatmeal packets that Quaker makes (which I find are too sweet and don't stay with me very long).

I usually don't need a mid-morning snack, since the total calories for this combination ends up around the 300 mark. I also try to drink a lot of water, because that helps keep me feeling full as well.

I have a "layered lunch" that I just started this week but sticks with me pretty well. I batch-cooked chicken breast, spinach, spaghetti squash, and butternut squash, then layered a portion of each thing into a screw-top 2 cup tupperware container to take to lunch. My pattern goes: meat on bottom, spinach, spaghetti squash, and butternut on top. Putting the meat on the bottom keeps it juicy when you reheat in a microwave.

I hope this helps. I've had "hungry days" when I exercised way too hard the day before, and I confess, we've had our share of "lazy days" ordering out this week, too. The only thing I can do is try to be as honest as I can when I record food, even if I have to eyeball it.

We're all in this together.

Just call me La. Most everyone else does.

It can only get easier! :) Keep your focus and try to stay away from sweets and fatty foods... I love love love bread and have not had any in nearly a month! :) I am also a candy a holic! I haven't had any chocolate or candy for a month! I tried the Gluten Free lifestyle! What a challenge! I am a former night nurse and used to eat all night long! Not good stuff either, but junk! Try to take veggies with you! Tuna, salmon, chicken..salad stuff...and munch on the good stuff! You can do it! Just plan ahead! There are lots and lots of recipes on here to help...

Try some of the Sparkpeople recipes for snacks. I tried the Peanut Butter Oatmeal cookies this pass weekend to take with me to my mom's house to snack on these cookies were 66 calories each and were very satisfying. I do a lot of emotional eating at my mom's house. You can do this; plan your snacks ahead of time. This worked for me

I'm not feeling too good about my progress. I'm actually gaining weight. I'm still trying to adjust to working midnights in police dispatch while also trying to stay away from sugary and fatty foods that help keep me awake on the job also while trying to get decent sleep and still make time for my husband and exercise. It's been a struggle but I'm not giving up and determined to find a solution.

I found today very hard. I was hungry ALL day. I am going to have to find foods that have a higher fiber content or start using flax/chia seeds for a filler.

Also, I've been estimating my portions instead of actually take the time/energy to measure... so I'm also feeling a bit deceitful about my progress.

Oh - and thanks Bikinibottom for the nice comment about my loss. emoticon

I'm on a high right now because the scale showed an 11 pound loss. I know it's rare and I should not count on it ever happening again, but it's hard not to be elated when you see such a large drop. Here's hoping I can live off this high for when the scale doesn't move or worse, shows a gain (eek!).

Good!! I was hoping to be a little further down by now but I'm happy that I've made the progress that I have. I haven't just lost twenty pounds (almost half of what I had to lose), I've gained the ability to do squats and keep up with my nieces when I'm watching them (they are six and eight). I might not be at goal when I want to be but I think I'll make it by years end and then on to the next adventure.

Congrats on the loss.. Just remember that weight didn't come on in one day or one week... When it comes off slowly, which it should, it will usually stay off. Keep up the good work!

I gained 2 oz. after promising myself I'd lose a bit more. However, I can't help but be happy as I am so close to hitting a year maintaining below goal! (My first year, because of course I want this to be a lifetime of years)

My problem with "splurge days" is that I never want to go back down to a "lean day" afterward. My husband and I have been better about not eating out this week than last, and I'm trying to make more nutrient-dense foods and keep my carbs on the low end, since I have an addictive relationship with bread and pasta.

Aero try varying your calories giving yourself higher calories one day. It tricks your body into using more calories instead of always being low which causes your body yo save whatever it can.

I worked really hard last week and lost nothing. This week, I'm trying to stay on track but feeling discouraged after being "below" my threshold by 2 lbs-worth of calories and not seeing any downward movement on the scale. I started taking measurements to see if I make any progress in that regard.

I have a tendency to easily get discouraged when I don't see the results I think I "deserve" from all my hard work (cutting out 7000+ calories over a week's time is tough!), and it's hard to tell myself to stick with it. Help me stay motivated, please.

Just call me La. Most everyone else does.

Feeling frustrated because I cannot weigh in so I have no idea where I am at. It has been 5 weeks so far and will be another 6 weeks before I can even think about trying to stand on a scale, cannot tell by clothes either as all I can get on are big smocks. Trying to watch my calories so I will not balloon up with no exercise

You also realize that you need to weigh at the same time each day because in a matter of 1/2 hour you could be up or down.. Just keep doing what you are doing and keep your focus. Fluctuations are normal. The hard part of losing weight is maintenance! :)

Today I'm feeling alright. The last two weekly weigh-ins at my Weight Watchers meeting haven't gone so great (up .5lbs and .7lbs respectively), but tomorrow at my weigh-in I'm hoping to do a bit better. I would love to lose 2 lbs this week. *fingers crossed*

Even if the numbers aren't necessarily showing it, I feel stronger and healthier as each day progresses. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't gain the weight overnight, so I can't expect to lose it overnight either. Its all a journey to become healthier and happier! emoticon

I am very happy to report a 1.3 lbs. weight loss.. Today I feel tired. Haven't been sleeping well lately, Sunday evening I took 3 mg melatonin and slept pretty good, but woke way earlier than my alarm, so last night I took 6 mg, went to bed early and didn't wake until 10am. Sort of wrecked my day, I have been feeling tired all day... Guess I won't do that again! Onward ho to working on my balanced meals and exercise...Tomorrow is yet another day!

Gained 6 ounces. However, still below goal. Feel good as I know that 6 will be back off. I've learned that maintenance is just that. Staying below goal.

Not good. I came back to Spark Jun 25 at 162, have yo-yo'd up and down with water weight, and now weigh 160. Net loss in @ 3 weeks - 2lbs. I'm so frustrated and depressed, I've gone into maintenance now rather than try to keep losing. I hung in there for weeks, working my butt off but I just don't want to anymore. A lot less stressed and able to eat 200 calories a day more. I was starving myself at 1200. I'm not "against" losing more at this point, I'm just not actively trying too. (Maybe a little "inactively, "subconsciously" trying, by keeping calories at or below the minimum of my range!

My feelings are mixed. I feel great about all the healthy changes I've made in my life over the last 3 weeks, my self esteem is soaring and I'm feeling amazing! All area of my life are changing for the positive, not just my SP life!

I, haven't however lost ANY weight. And, by the numbers, I should have. Not even 1 lb!

I, do however, keep plugging along. I know change will come here too! Besides, I'm having a terrific time! My days are amazing and I'm enjoying my SparkRecipes that I've begun to make.

great!!! it's amazing how just a few small changes (3 more glasses of water, avoiding habitual nighttime snacking, a little more veggies and getting more hours of sleep), makes a huge difference in how I feel about myself and my progress.

Making great progress in this program, especially in my honesty with self and self-esteem! Have come far in 9 days being back with Spark! Began walking again, eating healthier, and "dieting" to lose the 21 pounds I gained after I hit maintenance. I'm feeling terrific about that!

Weight loss is kind of slow though.. Continuing to do the right things and anticipate weight loss soon! Feeling HOPEFUL! emoticon

Fighting kidney stones -- so at a short-lived (hopefully) plateau.

Feeling a little lost. Almost two weeks since last weigh in and at least another 10 weeks before I can weigh in again, and with no exercise and only wearing bed clothes there are no ways to tell how I am doing. But I am not lying here eating everything in site so that is a good sign. Still tracking all food.

Jan
Looking forward to a whole new me!
