So disappointed in me. I lost a pound a few days ago and then I over ate yesterday at our church potluck picnic. I am not discouraged. I will do my best to eat healthy and do my challenges to get my daily exercise. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have lost 17 lbs since April. Last week I bought two 10lb bags of ice. When I got home, I picked up one in each hand and carried them across the yard and up the steps onto the porch. While I noticed how heavy these bags of ice were, I thought about the weight I have lost and how it felt now to add 20 lbs and walk anywhere, especially up the steps.

Sometimes it doesn't seem like much weight we have lost, but it really is a lot.

It was hot here also up in the 90's and boy was I ever sweating and I sprayed some cool water on me so I can cool down. To me it feels like we are in Hell and I sure don't want to go there when I die. My necks been hurting cause of the heat here and I have to lie down just to rest it and all I can say it my neck better be better tomorrow.
Take care and be sure you spray yourself like I'm doing.

Not a good feeling today. Well one good thing. I got my hair cut this morning. Tomorrow I have to weigh in and I ate over the amount of calories I should eat daily. It is so hot here in Oregon [100 degrees] this week that I ate way too much ice-cream today. I did buy some popsicle forms today to make my own 'healthy' popsicles. I found some good recipes on SparkPeople.
I got up early this morning and got some exercising in before itr got too hot.

Feeling really good - just over four months of daily tracking, except I missed logging in one day last week, and broke my streak ;(. Oh well, back at it. I've lost 45 pounds (which is so satisfying) but best of all is the inches lost. First time ever, that I've stuck to an exercise regime, and I know that is what is making the difference. I mainly keep at or below my calorie intake, with the occasional blown day, but so far have been able to climb back on the wagon the next day. My biggest fear of all, is when I get to the maintaining stage - never been there, and so afraid I will gain it back.

Any suggestions re: maintaining are most welcome!

June Reflections:

I experienced a gradual loss of about 1 pound this month. First time this has happened since my sideways trend emerged in December 2014. Weight was essentially steady December 2014 - May 2015.

So, what changed? I decided to address my elevated sodium intake. I pulled the sodium nutrient down in my nutrition summary and noticed that most of my upticks in weight were associated with elevated sodium intakes as suspected.

Set a goal to limit elevated sodium days to no more than 1 day in any 7 consecutive days. It took until June 11 to get my first 7 consecutive days with no more than 1 day of elevated sodium intake and I have managed to sustain it since.

For the month of June I kept all but 3 days within the recommended sodium range of 500 mg - 2300 mg. So, it appears that I had been retaining a pound of water. No change in calorie guidelines for the month. Activity has been severely restricted since diagnosis of pelvic fracture this month. As I see it, the essential change was a reduction in sodium intake. Onward to July and entering my second year of maintenance.

It's a bumpy road. I struggle with salt everyday. We eat well, whole grains, lots of fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish at least 3 times every week, but salt is an ongoing problem.

Swimming_Glee, I felt the same mixed emotions when the doctor said I was losing too fast - how could weight loss ever be too fast?? But I think that's true, if you lose too fast, it's not the right kind of loss and won't last! Anyway, I seem to have leveled out a little so am doing very well this week!

Thank God in all things!

The Weight Watchers ap said I'm shedding too quickly. 2lbs+/wk. I usually just make my calories, except when I work and walk an hour and a half, three nights a week. Then the weekend I go through my weekly points...

Not sure how to feel.

I'm feeling good about my progress since May 21st but this about the time I usually start to fail...I have "fooler"days when I convince myself it's ok to eat different things. It's different then "days off". For me fooler days can add up where a day off is once in awhile. I had a "fooler" day yesterday but fortunately recognized it as that so hopefully will stay on track...

I'm really happy about my progress. I've had a few small plateaus, but stuck with my program and have been rewarded with good results. I weigh myself each day and I know that's not good for everyone, but it really helps me. I don't beat myself up if I gain or stay the same, I just adjust my activity and am extra diligent with drinking the water. It keeps me on track and numbers don't lie.
Feeling confident that I will reach goal and am really liking my extra energy and better mood.

Doing good with 2 days of walking, 2 miles. Today kept really busy in the house but no walking.

A little concerned with tomorrow though. I have a dinner and a show out and I know it will be a fancy meal. I picked Friday as my weigh in day, so I don't want to blow it. I hope I can do it. Today it looked like I lost 1.5 labs, but really concerned about my motivation to stay strong. It's ok, I can do it!!!

KYUILLE -- Great work! You can do this!

I got carried away with sodium this weekend, and the result is a gain. I know that once the bloating and water retention is gone, I know it will show on the scale.

Feeling great today! Had a walk with the dog this morning, walked to work, and have managed to resist the baked goods sitting directly outside of my office -- there's a fundraiser bake sale going on.

I'll need to resist for the rest of the day too!

I am feeling great this morning. When I received some bad news in my life about a month ago I let my bad habits back in. Everyone know when you pick up those bad habits your body fights you to keep giving those things to it because it likes it. Well I am back in control now and I am able to say know once again. I have dust my knees off and taken back charge once more. The best feeling in the world. emoticon

No progress argh. Jumped on scale this morning only to find I am up the four pounds I lost - darn it. As I always say don't lose weight because you will find it again. Sigh. Going to keep at it this week and do another weigh in on Friday to see what the heck happened. Might be too much salt in what I ate. No fun, cold and wet out, dark and depressing out.

Sabotaged myself (slightly), by eating way too much sodium today, but I did manage to drink all my water, plus some.

Feeling tired at the moment, just got back from an 11k + walk with the dog.

Have a great weekend all!

Took the dog for a nice walk this morning. Feeling great!

Managed to drink all my water yesterday, and am working on meeting that goal again today.

Have a great Tuesday!

Feeling ok. Was down 0.5 lb this morning, which is ok, since last week's drop of 5 lbs was higher than expected.

Didn't drink enough water on the weekend, and let myself get into the chips and cookies, but it was under control, and I got that out of my system, so today it's back to the basics.

Working on my water, and am already half way through.

Have a fantastic day!

Not discouraged but a bit panicky. I spent 89 weeks below goal and today I landed right on goal again. I have giiven myself a good talking to and will check and see what I did right before and what I am doing wrong. So will not beat myself up but will try to lose enough in the coming weeks to not get this close to going over again. Not an option, going over.

Feeling very disgusted with myself for a few weeks now. Can't seem to stay with it. I sure don't want to gain the weight back. And I would really like to lose some more. I will keep trying, but I am not very optimistic now. emoticon

Thanks!

Saturday was a good day. Got in my cardio, did some gardening and then I ate chips. So I'm going to have to make better choices on Sunday.

I made some not so good choices for my breakfast this morning ... coffee and sour jujubes....

I know, bad.

I was making some minions out of fondant for a colleague to put on her son's birthday cake, and I thought I would have time to have a good breakfast when I was finished working on them, but I didn't, so I grabbed a handful of the sour jujubes and gobbled them down with my coffee.

I'm not going to fret... the minions turned out great! My colleague was thrilled.

Will definitely make better choices for the rest of the day.

Have a great Friday!

Was feeling fantastic yesterday, and then something happened that triggered a emotional reaction.

I almost sabotaged myself. I was eating dinner, almost done what was on my plate, and I reached for, and started to eat more... before I got too much into me, I stopped myself, and gave what was on my plate to the dog (he gets leftovers).

We went for a longer walk after dinner, and that was the end of the self-sabotage episode.

This morning, when I thought about things, I realized that I over-reacted, and I'm happy that I was able to stop myself before I went full-fledged into a pity party.

Feeling great today.

I am struggling with this journey. I am bouncing back and forth a lot. I had a rough year last
year with female problems. Major surgery in January and since then it is bouncing back and forth. I have officially been taken off of blood pressure pills. I walk 75,000-90,000 steps a week. I just got to get back motivated. I am reaching out for help. Thanks for listening to me this morning. emoticon

I'm very happy with my commitment to exercise. I do cardio 5-6x/week, and have been adding strength workouts recently. However, my SO was home for a staycation last week and it helped me identify some personal challenges. He's a wonderful cook and does the bulk of the cooking when he's home (he works out of town all week). He is doing better at cooking healthier foods, but still cooks what he loves, which is homestyle fat/carb heavy fare. And when he does, I eat too much of it. I did pretty well while he was home, but I must learn to cope better!

RKOTTEK, I changed the batteries on my scale two minutes after they died, and when I stepped on it again (two minutes after the last weigh-in), I was 8 lbs heavier! LOL!

Still feeling positive and great. Extremely happy with my progress!

I'm feeling Sparktastic today. I'm down 2 pounds. The scale is moving in the right direction again. I don't just measure my success by the scale, but it still feels good when I see the pounds coming off.

I feel very good about my consistency of exercising seven days a week. It is very rare that I don't do 30 minutes on my stationary bike or walk aerobics with Leslie Sansone. Because of foot problems, I'm mostly exercising with my stationary bike. Last night for a change I did do walk aerobics.
My problems falls into my eating. It is something I need to work on to find foods that are satisfying and filling, and falling in my range of calories for the day. I won't give up.
It is progress that I'm working on, not perfection.

Nothing Is Impossible with God.
Each Day Is A New Beginning.
When You Draw Close To God, God Will Draw Close To You.

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

Keep up the good work, StillTrying153!

I'm feeling great about my progress. I haven't seen the number on the scale drop, but I know it will come in time.

At the moment, I'm happy that I am still here Sparking. I'm keeping up and reaching my 6k step goal every day, I'm getting in my cardio, often more than the 10 minute minimum that is suggested, and I"m eating better.

Have a great day!

I have to be careful not to let the rapid week-one weightloss make me lazy about tracking, eating well, and exercising. Most of that was water, and no matter what the scale says, I want to eat well and move my body. I do like tracking weight, and it does motivate me, but I have to be careful to remind myself that the weight isn't the real goal for me -- the health and fitness are.
