Feeling frustrated because I cannot weigh in so I have no idea where I am at. It has been 5 weeks so far and will be another 6 weeks before I can even think about trying to stand on a scale, cannot tell by clothes either as all I can get on are big smocks. Trying to watch my calories so I will not balloon up with no exercise

Jan
Looking forward to a whole new me!

You also realize that you need to weigh at the same time each day because in a matter of 1/2 hour you could be up or down.. Just keep doing what you are doing and keep your focus. Fluctuations are normal. The hard part of losing weight is maintenance! :)

Today I'm feeling alright. The last two weekly weigh-ins at my Weight Watchers meeting haven't gone so great (up .5lbs and .7lbs respectively), but tomorrow at my weigh-in I'm hoping to do a bit better. I would love to lose 2 lbs this week. *fingers crossed*

Even if the numbers aren't necessarily showing it, I feel stronger and healthier as each day progresses. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't gain the weight overnight, so I can't expect to lose it overnight either. Its all a journey to become healthier and happier! emoticon

I am very happy to report a 1.3 lbs. weight loss.. Today I feel tired. Haven't been sleeping well lately, Sunday evening I took 3 mg melatonin and slept pretty good, but woke way earlier than my alarm, so last night I took 6 mg, went to bed early and didn't wake until 10am. Sort of wrecked my day, I have been feeling tired all day... Guess I won't do that again! Onward ho to working on my balanced meals and exercise...Tomorrow is yet another day!

I am not feeling progress. I have been hovering between my low of 203 to going back up to 213 for about 3 years now. And now I have been injured and its hard to be as active as I need to be. emoticon

Gained 6 ounces. However, still below goal. Feel good as I know that 6 will be back off. I've learned that maintenance is just that. Staying below goal.

Enjoying the maintenance ride. I slipped last week, lost a lb this past week and am still below goal. If I can do it, I am betting on the teams!

I am feeling so upbeat about my progress. I am finally on track with my nutrition and fitness and feel very sparked.
I just keep telling myself how good I feel and this will continue to guide me to be successful at my weight loss and management of maintaining after I have reached my goal weight.

I wish everyone a "spark" filled day emoticon

Not good. I came back to Spark Jun 25 at 162, have yo-yo'd up and down with water weight, and now weigh 160. Net loss in @ 3 weeks - 2lbs. I'm so frustrated and depressed, I've gone into maintenance now rather than try to keep losing. I hung in there for weeks, working my butt off but I just don't want to anymore. A lot less stressed and able to eat 200 calories a day more. I was starving myself at 1200. I'm not "against" losing more at this point, I'm just not actively trying too. (Maybe a little "inactively, "subconsciously" trying, by keeping calories at or below the minimum of my range!

My feelings are mixed. I feel great about all the healthy changes I've made in my life over the last 3 weeks, my self esteem is soaring and I'm feeling amazing! All area of my life are changing for the positive, not just my SP life!

I, haven't however lost ANY weight. And, by the numbers, I should have. Not even 1 lb!

I, do however, keep plugging along. I know change will come here too! Besides, I'm having a terrific time! My days are amazing and I'm enjoying my SparkRecipes that I've begun to make.

Best event today...receiving word from my Primary Care Physician that my recent Sleep Study indicated that I no longer have Sleep Apnea. Hooray! No more CPAP machine!!!

Both the Respiratory Therapist and Primary Care Physician have been very complimentary regarding my efforts to improve my health over the last year. My hard work is paying great rewards.

Making great progress in this program, especially in my honesty with self and self-esteem! Have come far in 9 days being back with Spark! Began walking again, eating healthier, and "dieting" to lose the 21 pounds I gained after I hit maintenance. I'm feeling terrific about that!

Weight loss is kind of slow though.. Continuing to do the right things and anticipate weight loss soon! Feeling HOPEFUL! emoticon

Feeling a little lost. Almost two weeks since last weigh in and at least another 10 weeks before I can weigh in again, and with no exercise and only wearing bed clothes there are no ways to tell how I am doing. But I am not lying here eating everything in site so that is a good sign. Still tracking all food.

Only lost two pounds so far.... but I haven't had a soda since the first of June, and I've actually been tracking exercise more than once a week. So that two pounds has to start multiplying soon. emoticon

I had a poor week. I went over my sodium for several days. I didn't GAIN any weight, but I didn't lose any, either.

This week I WILL pay closer attention to the foods I eat. emoticon

I am pleased to have lost to goal and am keeping it off. The longer I maintain, the more positive I am that SP is the right way to go. I also know that slow losing is the best. I can attest that I was slow. It took me more time to lose over 40 lbs. than it does most to lose much more.
I am happy none the less!! I've no doubt that I will gain a bit after my tooth problems are fixed as I've been eating fewer calories (not by choice)I but because of limits in what I can eat before a fractured tooth can be fixed. It will be good to tackle that problem (gaining) when and if it occurs.

Overall, I feel very proud of my progress. I've been consistently tracking what I eat and getting regular exercise, but after having 2 off-days this week I feel a little down. I was feeling too tired to workout and just had a some other personal things distracting my mind, so I ate a few things that I haven't eaten in a while and did not work out for 2 straight days! My energy level was back up yesterday so I worked out, but I ate a personal-sized (8 oz) sausage pizza later and that made me feel guilty. I stayed within my calorie range yesterday but I before this past week, I had not been eating certain types of foods that I love.

Maybe it's realistic to find a way to incorporate them sensibly instead of cutting them out until I reach my goal weight.

My official weekly weigh-in is tomorrow morning, but I peaked at the scale this morning and no pounds lost for this week. That's definitely a let-down but I'm still motivated to keep pushing and I'm grateful for that feeling. I realize that my eating well, practicing portion control, eating lower-sodium meals, exercising and tracking is about more than losing a lot of weight - it's really about me wanting to develop healthy habits that I stick with forever.

Let's see how the rest of today goes... emoticon

Feeling proud of myself. It's still the first week and I know that this is probably going to be the hardest part. But I've been walking, drinking water, and logging all my food. A little nervous about my first weigh-in but I am going to stick with it.

I claimed yesterday as my *official* entry into maintenance. I am both excited and scared realizing that the odds of maintaining one's weight loss are not good. But, people do it and I have found support and encouragement here at Spark.

emoticon

Got some lab results back and as I suspected my thyroid numbers are off. My medication has been reduced. I am experimenting with determining a healthy and realistic weight goal for myself. Will need to pay particularly close attention to how I am feeling physically. An unhappy thyroid could cloud the issue.

I have found the accountability of Virtual Weigh-Ins to be supportive of my process. Thanks all!

I am learning a great deal from the At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team. Will continue to work hard at maintaining what I have achieved and learning and growing along the way. Hoping to count myself amongst the successful maintainers for years to come.

I am feeling happy that I've pulled back from starting upward again. I must confess, that a lost filling (to be restored Thursday) had a lot to do with it! However, I think it helped me get off sweets which is a plus. My cup is half full!

Mixed feelings. Some days I think I have done great and then I remember all the things I have done wrong. Surgery coming up very soon, so things will get really slow as I will be on bed rest for so long. I am looking to trying to not gain any weight while I am bed ridden.

Feeling good about my progress. I feel and look good so that is always a great thing. It has taken me 7 months to get this far.

However.... I woke up this morning and decided I am taking 2 weeks off. After today no tracking of anything other than my weekly weigh in. I’ve been stressing, obsessing and pre-occupied recently over food, food choices, tracking, weight fluctuations, exercise, work and home activities just to name a few. The standard things we are all going thru.

But I am going to use these next 2 weeks to get in things in order so that I can move in the right direction. Last Saturday conflicting scale measurements (139.4/139.0/138.8) normal weekly check in is Monday (140.8) and today/Saturday (142.2). My description “I’m on a freaking roller coaster ride”.

In thinking over this last week the only real major change is the medications that the doctor removed me from and I had a sugar/salt binge again but tried to keep it within some control (only 1 bag of sour cherry candies (5 servings) and 1 bag of sour head candies (2.5 servings) and maybe a ˝ bag of Jalapeno Cheetos (but not in one sitting), so in thinking it could have been worse.

So figured that I need time to decompress and get back into the game. I have come too far on this journey to stall out. I am within 15 lbs give or take away from goal and I know this is the toughest part now, to pull it together and fine tune the details. Next weekend I visit the Dietician for further assistance and guidance so I look to that as one of the positive parts during my break.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and continued progress. emoticon

I am feeling very good about my progress. I am very motivated. These 3 things help me. I got back in to my daily exercise; it has become a good habit I formed and I look forward to it every day. I record my daily food intake on the nutrition tracker every day and seldom go over my amount of calories. I record my exercise 7 days a week, and I do 30 minutes a day; I seldom go under 30 minutes. Yesterday was one of the days I went under. I will continue doing 30 minutes a day of either walk aerobics with my favorite, Leslie Sansone, or I use my stationary bike. There are exceptions to the rule if something interrupts my routine. All these things are helping me progress to my desired weight. I will get there again! emoticon

I'm feeling in between neutral & disappointed with progress. I have been slowly losing, and many days don't see any change. Today was different, because I had half a pound weight gain. BELIEVE ME, when I say, this will not discourage me. I am very determined to reach my goal again. I will reach that goal. emoticon emoticon

Determined! I am determined to stay below goal. I gained a lb this past week and it won't do.
So that lb must come off. I am only 6 oz below my goal and I can't let the old creep up happen.
So obviously SP is helping me to feel absolutely determined!!! See you next week when I will still be determined but happier!

I'm down 20 pounds now from when I started in January. I'm really happy about that. I feel better and I have more energy. I struggled last week to go to the gym (although I still ate really well). This week I will try harder.

I am happy with what I am doing. Still below goal. Yes I go up and down a few ounces, but now it is ounces that move and not pounds. Getting a bit more imaginative nutritionally is fun and not the drudgery I used to think it was. Do not get discouraged, that only leads to defeat.
Good luck and happy Sparking!

How am I feeling about my progress? Jazzed!!!

With 1 week remaining in May, I decided to take a look at the report - Calorie Differential Over Time to see what my monthly averages have been since the beginning of the year.

Here's what I learned...

Month / BMR / In / Out / Loss / ADCD
Jan / 1806 / 1606 / 396 / 5.2 / 596
Feb / 1761 / 1456 / 359 / 8.6 / 664
Mar / 1712 / 1536 / 485 / 9.4 / 661
Apr / 1685 / 1516 / 362 / 5.2 / 531
May / 1651 / 1473 / 326 / 5.2 / 504

These numbers represent my average BMR for the month, average daily caloric intake and expenditure, pounds lost each month and average daily calorie differential.

I calculated my ADCD (Average Daily Calorie Differential) as follows: BMR + Out - In. My May numbers will change when the numbers for this week are added.

The information I am gathering from routine use of my nutrition and fitness trackers along with the reports helps support my journey and inform my choices.

emoticon

As I approach my goal of 144 lbs and my thoughts begin drifting toward establishing a realistic and attainable weight goal, I know the tools that have supported my journey thus far can be put to use to not only attain and maintain my weight goal, but to continue improving my health and fitness.

I have found team participation to be instrumental. Lots of collective wisdom and support shared here at SparkPeople.

a big HUG to EVERYONE for being here...for trying and for making it happen!! emoticon

I love reading the positive messages below. Keep up the good work. emoticon and although it took me several years to reach goal weight, I did reach it and have maintained under goal for 37 weeks now. I believe now in slow and easy helped to reach it and keep it off.
I know you can do it if I could. I was "queen yo yo" in the weight department. Stick with it and keep pushing. Giving up is not an options. Good luck all.
