I feel that by tracking my food intake and exercises does help me, don't seem lose if not tracking stuff. I just started back up after gaining too much since Oct. So prob water weight, been drinking mostly water and drastically eliminating coke, 1 at most per day, still addiction but none today,yeah! Since think water weight lose right now, within 2 days I already lost 4 lbs which I'm amazed. Once I can notice inches then I'll see things working. I bought those low calorie frozen meals since I don't cook and that helps too since limited portions and calories. Eating more healthy snacks always works too.

I'm finding that mid morning and mid afternoon snacks are helping to curb my hunger, and losing the sugar and diet soda has nearly eliminated all my cravings. emoticon

Heavy house cleaning! I love it, the feeling after I'm done & going back into the space. SO pretty!

emoticon 3-4-17 Plans change so quickly, today! Lucy can't go out because of a possible dog virus. Now I Can't go out because of the extreme (30 MPH) wind. TOO much pollen in air, I don't want to get sick. So no beaver walk tonight! emoticon Instead I cleaned the house VERY deeply for 6 hours! emoticon 5 loads of laundry. DH was helpful in helping me declutter our dining room table... I've wanted to do it for several years! emoticon His back problems make it VERY hard on him, but he was a trouper!!! I DID get some exercise! emoticon emoticon

Do something new and unexpected, something you never, ever thought you could do, so you've never tried. For example: I have always said, "I don't run!" I haven't run in over 30 years and the reason it isn't longer is because my high school track coach threatened me! Well yesterday, during my interval training, instead of race-walking, I just felt the need to run...and so I did! It was the most invigorating and freeing experience to date! And so, just to see if it was a fluke, I tried it again for this morning's workout. Now I think it will become a regular part of my workout, especially when the warm weather gets here and I am able to try this new-found "ability" outside!

I am finding ways to add even MORE veggies! Today I went to Trader Joes', they have 'riced' cauliflower. I add to salads, soups & keep meaning to try the cauliflower pizza, SP has in recipes. Just haven't taken time to try it. Sounds delicious!

Drink more water. Everyday. Replace the amounts of other liquids you drink each day with and equal amount of water. Drink 1/2 you body weight in oz outside of the replacing.

keep tracking food & exercise and update menu plan every 2 days so you can shop for 7 days at a time with a print out of your grocerys. Track weight daily so you do not accidentally gain a few pounds in a week,like I can do if I do not weigh daily. If you weigh in the morning you will know what food to eat and what exercise you need to do that day.

12-17-16 emoticon 260 minutes cleaning today!!! emoticon emoticon a pound from not eating UN-energizing foods at lunch yesterday! Also, because it is SO dry I have added 2 more cups of water. 12 today! I don't drink much else. emoticon (I have SEVERAL #'s to release, back to goal, staying focused & not eating, junk)! emoticon emoticon This all works for me!!!! THX emoticon Hope YOU are doing REALLY great this holiday season! emoticon

Try to keep your menu planned for 7 days and update it every few days so you do not have to do 7 days at a time.
When you grocery shop you can print out the days you shop for and stick to your list.
Also plan your exercise 7 days in advance so you are more likely to do it!!

White Grapefruit/Juice - I average a loss of 5.5# a week. Some weeks only 3#, some weeks 9-10# (depends on my carb intake. carbs and I don't get along but I am Asian and I LOVE rice!). I haven't gotten back into the fitness part quite yet. Was going well for a week but then my elliptical took a poop. Yes I know I can just go for a walk, maybe if the skeeters ever die off this season. So other than some house cleaning, motorcycle washing/riding and work (desk job) I haven't been too physical the past month. But I am down 33.4# in 6 weeks. I've had great results in the past incorporating GFJ (2-8oz servings a day) into my diet. Last time I gave Spark a good go at it, I dropped 100# in 8 mths. Life happened and most came back over 4 yrs. I'm determined to hit goal this time and maintain it. 69.6# to go.

Drinking a cup of 100% Natural Green Tea a day with no sugar. This completely kills any cravings I have for starches and sweets. Keeping a food diary, and trying very hard not to go two days without exercise!

I eat every 3 hours,so I have 6 small meals a day. I have my last food 2 hours before bed. Otherwise I will wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach growling and eat. My last food is 10 p.m. I have lost 48 pounds this year and have 5 more to go. It is a proven fact by many Doctors that how much you lose does not depend on when you stop eating at night as long as the calories are the same.Your body also only burns calorie while sleeping so, you must get proper sleep to lose weight.That is why you should weigh yourself in the morning. People who stop eating earlier do not lose more weight. Of course they will lose more weight if their evening snacks are extra calories and not included in their daily calorie limit. I eat 1500 calories a day with snacks.

I make sure I keep my menu planned for 7 days and every 2 days I add 2 days to it. I check my waist 1 time a month,Feb.1 it was 42" and is now 31". It has stayed the same the last 2 months.If I get busy I have a few days to catch up on my menu. I have lost 46 pounds since Feb.1 and have chronic kidney disease stage 2, so I am on a kidney diet. I have low blood pressure because of my kidney disease 75/50 most days and had to add salt because of it. I also had to lower my potassium as the potassium levels on The Spark People diet are over most peoples limit. If it stays high because my body does not get rid of the excess it can be toxic and kill me. I will get kidney tests done in 1 week. I want to lose another 10 pounds.

I really got real about dieting when I was told in June I was pre-diabetic. Found Dr. Furhman's book, "The End of Diabetes." It is basically a vegan and whole foods diet. Surprisingly, my husband and I really like it. We do cheat when we go out to dinner sometimes. I have lost 38 lbs. since June and I am now not showing any diabetes. My husband who had Diabetes II is now pre-diabetic! Wow. My blood pressure is down from 135/90 and is now 120/80. I am really happy! I still have 20 lbs. to go.

To break out of the same-weight rut of the past few weeks, I decided to plan a super-active calorie-burner weekend, with an emphasis on having fun. I took the dog for a 5.4-mile hike on a gorgeous day, and signed up for an evening blues-dance class, followed by more dancing--in addition to my usual Saturday morning yoga+dog walk. It worked!

I still have a throat and ear infection,will go to the hospital again to check it out.
I have lost 44 pounds since Feb. 1,,10.5 inches off my waist and body fat gone down from 52% to 35%.Gone from size 16 to size 10.I am the same size as I was in High School.

walked today to hospital 20 minutes total back and forth. have ear infection for 4 days,got antibiotics,throat infection 6 weeks, antibiotics 4 weeks ago. It spread now have both. I try and exercise daily to help with weight loss and plan my menu a week at a time.

I have not lost weight this month, I gained then lost again. On track now,planned menu for the next 7 days and will try to stick to it. I will walk today for 45 minutes.

If you're working out, as well as counting calories, like I am, it helps to change up your work out every once in a while. Keep your body guessing. If you've hit a plateau, change things up! Also, I've found a cheat day every once in a while doesn't hurt. Just don't go overboard with it, lol. I'm sure everyone's heard this before, but they're things I keep in mind.

~Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.~

The way I keep my weight loss going is to keep my fat down in the 20's, my calorie range is 1200 - 1500, I never go over 1200 calories, my carbs should be 198 which I'm having trouble
keeping it down to 198, my protein should be 78. The carbs & protein are on the high end. My
fiber is usually 32 or less. That's how I keep losing weight! I started out needed to lose 80 lbs., I now need to lose 38 lbs. It's been a struggle. I drink 90-110 ounces of water a day. I'm
a controlled diabetic. My A1C is between 5-5.3. My blood sugar in the morning is usually good, but the rest of the day it's low. Like in the 70's. My weight has been lost in the last few

My waist has gone down 1 inch in 30 days but, my weight has gone up 3 pounds because of eating too much over the holiday. I use my weight and waist measurement to make it more accurate. I started TOPS Wednesday. I have lost 36 pounds since Feb.1

I track my weight daily and the only measurement I do is my waist because I find it the most accurate. I check my waist every 14 days.

trying to keep the weight off. i am like a yo yo up and down. follow the plan and not losing any weight. what the deal have a hard time exercising one day it nice the next the day it either raining or snowing . any ideas on what i should do.

I am so hungry! I am eating very healthy but not enough to keep me full compared to what I use to eat. I am eating salad for the last four weeks to the point I do not want to eat. I have to spice up my diet plan so I can eat healthy and stay full so I do not think of food all day long. However, I will hang in there. emoticon emoticon

Our bodies are geared towards plant based starches, (beans, legumes, potatoes, corn, pumpkin, whole grain breads, whole grain pastas, etc.), that's why we crave them. There's enough fat and protein in them, that our bodies need. Cook and eat whole grain pasta with marinara sauce, pancakes made with oat flour. Make your own pizza crusts (without oils and cheese) and top it with marinara sauce, peppers, mushrooms, zuchini, pineapple and onions. My go to fast food is brown rice topped with lentil soup or beans... or brown rice topped w/cooked veggies(brocolli, corn, peas, kale and toppped w/a vegan mushroom gravy.

Avoid fats (trans fats/hydrogenated oils, refined veggie oils and saturated fats (animal products). Fats make you fat and sick. Good luck!

I agree about the Green Tea but if you are on Coumadin or Warfarin Sodium, be sure to check with your health care provider to adjust your medication because it is the same as other green vegetables and will raise havoc with your levels. I love it but am only allowed 1 C per day so have it for breakfast in the morning!

Drink green tea. If you drink the bottled, get diet. Or make your own iced green tea at home. I drink two of these a day (or the bottled if I have that) when I have it made. I add lemon and lime slices to it.

Hi GrammaJanet,
Just read your post about the rebounder. If you're 64 and your mom is giving you advice, you have good genes! I use the rebounder (I'm 73). I put it behind a chair in the TV room and use the chair back for balance if I need it…it's really just a security blanket…

You're only as old as you feel! And never stop moving…however you do it!
