This was yesterday afternoon. It was with contrast dye given through an IV. When asked by the woman if I ahve ever had this done before i was so sure i had. How wrong I was.
IV went in right arm around elbow area she drew blod nd tested it first for my kidney function to see how my kidneys are and that turned out ood/normal so she proceeded. I went in the donut tunnel knees up on a pillow and I was freezing when i entered the room at first because there was a/c on. she brought heated blankets to put around my shoulders and that was heaven like. I even got heated blankets put over my belly. She explined how the contrast dye works that i will feel heat rush through my body. That was so need a heat wave from head to pee pee LOL it's like all that heat came out where i pee. "take a deep breath and hole, Breath!" I did as told. No more than 5 minutes but the prep took about 15 minutes.
We're waiting to hear from my Neurologist about the results of this test.
I cannot take any diabetes meds and i am drinking gallons and gallons of water. I ahve to stay near a toilet. This dye needs to be flushed out of my system. Then tomorrow morning i go to lab and have my blood spot checked for kidneys to see if it's safe to start back on my diabetes meds. Need I say my numbers are aobut 216 last couple days. I also will be drawn for A!C tomorrow and being checked for my potassium level because of these bloody leg cramps i have every night.
I am suddenly unable to sleep at night because of the muscle cramping. Leaving me in a crappy state during the day.
