Thanks for the encouragement Cookie! I know it'll be tough getting through it. Running is WORK! But I know I will be so proud and motivated after an accomplishment like that. It's still hard to believe that I can run at all compared to what I was before.

I finally picked a 5k. We are shooting for a 5k for our local fire department on December 20th. We still have about 3 weeks left of the training program that we have been working on since July. Obviously there have been a couple starts and stops but we are working at it. I can't believe I actually am considering doing this!

I have decided that allowing my calories to fluctuate depending on my exercise minutes is not a good idea. I exercise more so I can eat more, but I don't lose weight that way!

Welcome back Dayspring! It's great to hear you are picking things back up!

Things are so busy! My exercise has fallen off a bit but I'm still getting in to track most days. It would be great to lose about 6 pounds by my wedding but I'm not sweating it, as long as I maintain which has not been an issue.

I had a great St. Patricks Day. It started out tough, I was juggling wedding plans and work and then messed up a spreadsheet and had to start over. It got better in the evening, we met with the wonderful woman who is going to make my wedding cakes. She brought 6 cakes for us to try! I had saved tons of calories but apparently there really is only so much cake you can eat before you just have to stop from sugar overload. Just a couple bites of each of the 6 was more than enough. Anyway I am very happy with her and our choices and ended up just slightly under my calories for the day.

Tomorrow I start a Spring challenge for 10 weeks, I am going to try and lose 20 pounds. Unfortunately I have gained about 17 pounds since the holidays so when I make my challenge goal I will be at a weight I haven't been at for a long time.

I was just up to double digits for exercise days then had such a sleepy day Sunday, then yesterday was cold and rainy. I have got to go out there today and start the streak again!

My scale has been stuck between 152 and 155 for a few weeks now. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE those numbers! However, I would like to see a little more progress for my work. I was lazy during January but am doing much better. Please scale, be kind this Friday!

I have already finished my Coach Nicole for today. I'm going to putter and clean around the house. I say putter because it's makes housework more relaxed feeling to me, and I can choose to do things that I want to do rather than the usual "chores". Maybe I will choose to vacuum, who knows? I think I will clean out my closet. I need to make room for Jeff after we are married!

I decided I am going to trick myself into exercise. I set my calories at 1200-1500 and set the goals so that my exercise is added to my calories. That way, exercise might let me have a little extra snack at night.

Anything to get some motivation going!

I am happy with February so far. I'm on a 5 day exercise streak although I haven't started Coach Nicole yet, and my food tracking is improving greatly.

I keep thinking about the wedding, and am hoping for maybe a.....BIKINI.....for this summer. Yikes! That's a really scary thought.

I have decided to set some good goals for February. I've been very tired lately so I haven't been exercising. Or is it that I haven't been exercising so I don't have much energy. Either way, it's not good. I've decided to try once again to get all the way through Coach Nicole's 28 day boot camp. I am not going to worry about it if it takes more than 28 days. I think that was my downfall last time. I got behind and gave up. I'm not going to do that again!

Hey everybody! I hope your new year is starting off great.

I have had great success with SparkPeople. Thank goodness I found it! I am getting married in 4 months, and since I've lost the weight I am actually excited about going dress shopping this afternoon. Clothes are so much easier to find now! What's really great is that instead of just finding something that is "OK" I can find things that look HOT!

I have been relaxing a little about my dieting because there are so many other things going on in my life, but it's not hurting me any. I think my good Spark habits have really kicked in.

I am looking forward to our 2 year anniversary. Anyone have any ideas for goals?

I see everyone is doing AWESOME! My work place blocked the site so I have been MIA and managed to gain what feels like a million pounds.... Hope to start the New Year with a bang.... after the dinner party tonight. emoticon

Hey everybody!

Exercise is still my struggle after all this time. I made a streak of 13 days but now am back to day 2. The weather is just not co-operating, we have had huge downpours and hot weather. Thankfully I love my Coach Nicole videos so I'll be doing that tonight.

I set my goals in 10% increments. When I started I had no idea if I could even lose weight, and had no idea what I should shoot for. I knew the "healthy" number would be overwhelming and completely unrealistic to my obese and sedentary self, so instead I set a goal to lose 10%. I read an article or blog on here that mentioned it and I thought it sounded like a good idea. That worked very well for me. I set my goal for the next 10%, then I get to feel like I really accomplished something!

160 is my third time losing 10%. The good thing is each 10% is slightly smaller than the last one!

And you are right, obese sounds much worse than fat!

You are doing fantastic ... is 160 emoticon your goal? I had 160 as my goal too and thought I better bring it down to 159 ... lol. Congrats on being "overweight" ... sounds so funny to say. "Obese" emoticon is such an ugly word isn't it? Worse than fat to me.

Update to that last post: I am down 1.5 pounds this week! I guess persistency through the frustration pays off!

Oh AND......I am no longer obese! I finally hit the overweight range!

It's getting much harder to lose after a year of cutting back the calories. I don't want to eat at the bottom of my range all the time because I really love food, but if I eat near the top I just seem to maintain. Is anyone else at the point where you can't seem to lose as well?

I was hoping for a good exercise streak but only made it 5 days before I missed a day. I guess I just have to start again!

Thank you so much for the compliments! You should take a look at my before pictures on my SparkPage, I am amazed at the difference. I didn't think I looked that bad before!

There is a slow cooker salsa chicken recipe that I love. It's so easy, makes a ton, is easy to freeze and can be served different ways. Jeff is trying recipes from the Spark cookbook I bought him for Christmas, it's been great!

I like to find recipes on this website because you can get your points for making it and track the calories just by clicking the links.
