Personally, I like to tell the food pushers to "stuff it in their piehole!" Then again, my family loves me no matter how obnoxious I am. LOL!
Seriously, I have been known to indulge in something I really want. However, if I don't want to eat it and don't want to offend, I usually ask what is in it and then claim a digestive sensitivity to it--no one wants to push the subject if you bring up "digestive distress"

While there are a variety of excuses to overindulge during the holidays, the best defense against holiday eating disasters is a good plan of action. There is no better way to formulate a plan for holiday survival than to learn from how others stay healthy during this time of joy and celebration. Use these helpful SparkPeople member tips to stay on track into the New Year.

Lots of great info here. Now to see if they help motivate me to get back into the swing of things. This past week has been super challenging with a lot of back sliding and no exercise.
