I kept 3 or 4 pairs of pants/jeans and am happy to say that they fit now. Glad I did because some of the pairs I had been wearing are getting pretty baggy in the rear.

Yes you can!

I honestly don't know how small the clothes in my closet go. I do have a size 12 dress I want to try on again, though. I'm actually considering wearing it in January to an engagement party, if it fits me. I'm not holding my breath, however--I wear a larger dress size because of my bustline and even in the weight range of 140 lbs I remember purchasing a size 14 (and then having the waist and hips taken in.) I remember wearing the dress over 15 years ago, although I have no idea how much I weighed when I did.

As far as the rest of my clothes go, everything else (that I have decided to try on) has either fit me again or proven to be too big already. It's about time I try again and dig further back into the dark recesses of my closet.

I must admit I kept jeans and pants of all size over the years a I grew larger and larger in hopes that I could wear them again. I even had a pair in there from jr high school..1980... LOL They were my absolute favorite pants. But most of them were from when my husband and I met 13 years ago. I hated to throw away good expensive jeans just in case. Well I cleaned out my closet a few months back and tried them all on only to find they were all too BIG. Check out my blog on it. www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo

So long story short I never got back into most of them. I can live with that though!!

We all have them in our closet and we all hope that one day we will be able to wear them again: our skinny jeans (cothes). The question is will it be helpful to keep our skinny clothes or will they even keep us from succeeding in weight loss?

I have clothes in different sizes in my closet and I have thought about throwing them away or donating them because a few months ago I was at a point where I thought I would never be able to wear them again. I did give away some clothes who I knew I wouldn't wear them again because I didn't like them any more, but I still have clothes in different sizes. They are my motivation to keep going and to me they are a good way to measure my success without being obsessed with the scale.
What is your opinion about your skinny jeans- keeping or tossing them?
