We lose inches before we lose pounds, and as women we tend to retain water especially when it comes to our menstrual cycle. So our weight fluctuates. Just keep hanging in there. The weight will come off in time. ^_^

Yes hang in there! It is probably uour body's shocked reaction to your new found program. It is in panick mode, and storing everything it can. Just keep on doing what you are doing and your body will realize that you are indeed not trying to kill yourself and it will let go of the weight.
As long as you're making healthy choices - you're headed in the right direction. It's an adjustment that you're body needs to make. Don't stress, you're body will follow. Just take it one day at a time. Keep making great choices!!!!

Remember to look for those non-scale victories like your pants fitting better. The body goes through many changes as it begins to get healthy and lose weight. Keep up the good work. The scales will follow.
I feel your pain. I'm kind of bummed after my first week here. This past week was my first and I was more scrupulous than I have ever been about weighing and measuring and tracking every morsel of food that went into my mouth. I hit just between my recommended high and low calorie amounts every day. I gave up eating wheat and other grains that I believe don't agree with me and bloat me up. And after all of that I only lost 1 pound. However, the slacks I couldn't button two weeks ago are buttoned and fairly comfortable today, my rings are rolling around on my fingers and I think I see more cheekbones, which I don't understand if I've only lost 1 pound.
I'm guessing I lost that little because of my age, and because of meds I'm on, and because I have a fractured knee and can't get too much exercise, but I was hoping to do 8-10 pounds per month and this is not an auspicious beginning! If this week turns out the same, I'm going to have to cut out fruits and the occasional potato or rice cake that I had this week. In the past that's been the only way I lost weight regularly, which is basically the South Beach Diet. I was hoping not to have to cut out those good foods, but I just don't do well with sugars and starches.

I completely understand what you're going through! I actually did put on a few pounds this week. And it got me down for a little while but I realized that sometimes these things are beyond my control and I just have to make sure I keep up the changes and all the good work. It is so easy to get discouraged but just remember that we're all here for you and going through the same thing!
hang in there is right. I'm new, too, and getting used to tracking and learning the website can be overwhelming. we all want to have our weight off immediately if not sooner. patience......and good luck!
Ugh. I started a few days ago and I feel better but I swear I'm bigger than I was. Granted, I don't have a scale (working on getting one, until then I weigh myself at my parents every 2 weeks) but my clothes are snugger. I think it's the 10 glasses of water I'm drinking ;) I guess feeling better should be enough of a motivator...it's not, but it should be.
