Another 2 pounds down, 12 in two months... but, only 10 showing up on the tracker because I gained a quick 2 from my original start weight. So 2 up, and then 12 down!

I am feeling pretty good about my progress in the last 2 months... I hope it continues for a bit and that I can maybe lose another 12 in the next 2 months... maybe???? A girl can hope!

Nicole, awesome job on getting under that 150! I am proud of you. And you lost weight this month, even if it's small, it's still a loss!

Bescats, I hope that your week has gone well too - and that you are seeing some progress in your weight loss journey. I know that you have been trying very hard to stick to your eating, so I am sure that you will see some progress!

Keep working hard everyone!!!

(P.S. Look at my arrow, it moved again!!!!)

Thanks Kim for giving us some encouragement. You're right, it is time to start looking for one positive thing at a time, but right now I'm not sure where to start. I know I am spending to much time on my computer & not enough time doing some fun things, and I think that is causing me to get discouraged & depressed, so I am giving up my leadership roles on 2 of my teams, at the end of this month, but am staying with this one. You and Nicole are always there !!

Hi ladies,

I wish I could be there closer so I could come and give you support in person. For now, this will have to do.

It sounds like what you guys are going through I went through from October to April when I gained about 20 pounds. It was a total downhill spiral and even though I know better, I still did stupid things to sabotage myself - buying and eating all kinds of cookies, chips, sweets... I am almost disgusted with myself and that I let myself go there.

I have lost 8 pounds since April - I know it's not a lot, but it's still 8 pounds down, not 8 pounds up. But I still have those moments when I do everything to sabotage myself - like tonight I was lazy, so I ordered in pizza and went to the store and bought chocolate and pop. All the while, I kept telling myself that this is wrong, but I still did it!

I think the only thing that helped me eventually was looking for one positive each day - 1 thing that I did well that day. Eventually that one good thing a day turned into two and three and I was able to string together enough good days to result in some weight loss. I think that we need to start doing that more often - looking for a positive each day instead of always focusing on the negative.

Come on ladies, we can do this!!!! Let's turn this slump into a victory one positive action at a time!!!

Believe me, Nicole, I am being worse than you !! I don't have a reason, except that I just can't seem to get my motivation back. I'm really trying hard not to give up totally !!

I think you will settle down after your surgery and all those worries are over. I know when I don't feel well, I find every excuse to eat hoping I will feel better, knowing that I won't.
Hang in there with me. I know we will get back on track before long. emoticon emoticon

However hopeless I felt yesterday, I feel more so today. Last night I soothed my issues with 7 rainbow chip deluxe cookies and a glass of milk. Also had a small bit of wine with dinner. I felt so guilty afterwards though. I know I shouldn't be doing this to myself but yet, here I am...doing it. I'm spiraling out of control.

So my weigh in this week was back up again. I swear my body doesn't want to stay in the 140's. As soon as I get to 149 the next week I'm back up at 150! It's been like this for WEEKS! Teeter-tottering back and forth between the two numbers. It's exhausting. I'm tired of it. I know part of it has to do with hormones (2 1/2 weeks of higher hormone levels causing bloating, acne, breast tenderness, and mood swings) but still no period. I think if I got that period I may feel some relief. But not for now.

Just makes me realize how much I need this hysterectomy. Only 2 more weeks to go!

However, in spite of knowing how much I need it and I'm confident it will help me overall, I'm still sort of sad about it as well. I've found myself really watching little kids more and more and knowing I'll never have any more (not that I really was looking to anyway) is making me sad.

Sadness, hormones, weeks of weight fluctuation...it's tiring me out. Today I just want to rest. I just want to lay on the sofa, eat whatever I want and stay there for the next two weeks. I know I can't but that's what I want to do.

HELP!

It is attitude, not circumstance, that makes success possible in even the most unlikely conditions.

Hey ladies!

Kim - that's great news about losing the 4 pounds! emoticon

Bescats - I wish there was something I could do or say to help bolster your motivation. I just know you'll lose that weight but I also know how heavy the emotional weight is from gaining the pounds in the first place. Sometimes it's enough to weigh us down so much that it feels almost impossible to get up and do something about it. Hang in there, Deary!
I just know you'll get up one day and just feel so much better and that will get you back on track.

Kim, I am so glad to see "your" arrow moving. emoticon Keep up the good work.

I wish I only had that 1 lbs. to worry about, but this summer I have been very, very bad, and now have several more of those pounds to lose. emoticon No ones fault, but mine !!
I will emoticon until I get my head back in the game. I even skipped the gym today, and shouldn't have.

Oh well, I am glad to see you back, and doing such a good job. emoticon

Wishing both you ladies a fantastic week !!!!!

Hi ladies!

It's been crazy busy the last few days here. I have been trying to get some things done around the house before I go back to work in 2 weeks. I have also been getting to the gym and walking every day, so that is pretty good. I initially gained back 4 of those pounds that I lost in China, but I took them off again! I think that I was just so excited to eat my favorite foods after being gone for 35 days, and I kinda pigged out. But then I realized that losing the weight was more important than eating all of the food that I have been missing for the last 35 days all in 5 days after coming home....

I hope that both of you ladies are doing well! I saw that Nicole thinks that things might be going well, but that Bescats gained a pound... You ladies are both rocking it! Nicole, I am sure that you are rocking it!!!! Bescats, one pound is nothing to be scared about... you will lose it this week, of that I am sure!!!

Have a great Sunday, ladies, and have a great week too!!!

P.S. Look below, my little arrow moved!!!! Only at 8 pounds because although I lost about 12 while I was gone, I did gain 4 before I left but didn't track them.

emoticon emoticon Kim !! So glad to have you back, we have missed you.
I hope all went well on your trip. I bet it was an exciting time in your life. Nicole and I have been holding down the fort, but both of us have been struggling with our weight. Needless to say, you did a better job than we did in July, but we are determined to do better in August.

You are off to a great start with that 15 lbs. I know you can keep going !!

Again, so glad to have you back.

Hi ladies. I am back from my 35 day adventure in China, and I am happy to announce that I am 15 pounds lighter. All of the heat made me not feel like eating much and I drank a ton of water. Also, I did a lot of walking and sightseeing.

I am sure that the jet lag will catch up with me and that I will probably be lazy the next few days and will gain a few of those pound back, but I lost 15 pounds in 35 days, on vacation!!!

Thanks for sharing, Nicole. I am a big fan of HP, have all the movies on DVD & recently have been watching them again !! I guess I thought there was only Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express. Didn't know about Hogsmeade. It will give you something to look forward to, and you're right, it would be much better if it was Disney. Guess, we are just kids at heart. emoticon

Harry Potter was FANTASTIC! It was an amazing area in the park. I could really have done without the rest of the place though...it certainly was no Disney. In fact, it sure would have been amazing if Disney owned the HP franchise and opened a park - I bet it that would have happened the WWoHP would be 1000 x's better than it is. Not saying it's "bad"...quite the contrary. It really made you feel like you were in the books! Except the employees dressed up like wizards and collecting the garbage. That was a little less than magical! LOL!

We're hoping next year we can go to the new WWoHP park - Diagon Alley. We only went to the original park, Hogsmeade.

If you're a fan of the books or the movies or just HP in general, I would definitely recommend getting there once.

Thanks, Nicole. I have to admit that I have been slipping, and going the wrong way. It has been way to hot to cook, do doing the "hit or miss" type of meals !!

emoticon to my ladies,

Both of you are getting ready for your big trips, and I'm jealous. emoticon

I like your comment, Kim, about me being in charge while you and Nicole are gone. Ha !! That's a good one, I'm in charge of myself. That might not be good, because I haven't been doing a very good job with myself. emoticon But, I do hope both of you have a good time !! emoticon already.

I have to admit I haven't been doing as much on SP lately. I think I need a break from my computer too !! I do check in and try to put something on the Wall, and do a couple of the games. It seems I'm doing to much computer time, and not enough of the other things I should be doing. Since I retired, I'm not as organized as I use to be. emoticon

Hang in there ladies, enjoy and check in when you can. emoticon

Hi ladies,
This will probably be my last check in before I go to China!!! I leave in 5 days, woot woot!!! I have been quite stressed out lately and I have a ton of things to do before I leave. So, I will probably not be back on here. In fact I should be doing some of those things right now, but I am taking a bit of a break.

I haven't done so good. I lost 4 pounds over the last 2 weeks, but then this week, I slowly gained it all back - 1 pound per day!!! Clearly it wasn't a real weight loss, just maybe some stress. I also had time last week to work out, this week, not so much!

Oh well --- maybe I will lose 10 pounds in water weight in China... we will see!!!

Nicole, have a great trip to Florida!!! I am sure it will be awesome! I am sure that you won't gain too much on vacation - you'll be too busy having fun to even gain 1 pound! Good luck losing that last little weight before leaving - I am sure you will get there!

Bescats, keep trucking along - it looks like you will be in charge while Nicole and I are gone. But you can do it, and I know that when you come back, you will be lighter and losing more!!!

Let me start off by saying, Nicole, you did a emoticon job. From what you have been saying, .4 lb. is great. I gained 4 lbs., and probably haven't taken them off yet, and I have been getting in my exercise. Goes to show how bad my eating has been. emoticon I forgot to weigh myself, so will tomorrow & record (if I dare) !!

emoticon you will do it. Don't ever give up on your goals, and your health !!

I am in such a slump, and I just can't seem to get out of it. I haven't had the motivation lately, and believe me my hubby is NO help !! I told him the other day he really needs to start telling me NO when I want to go for ice cream, etc., but he is always for it, and any other junk food. BUT, I 'm not giving up either.

Have a great week, Nicole. emoticon

Hey Kim, if you're out there emoticon . Hope all is going well with getting ready for your trip, and I think you have a graduation or something for completing your Masters on the 24th !! In case I forget, emoticon That is so emoticon !!

And so the cycle continues,..

Weighed in today - back up to 151.4. I knew this wasn't going to be a great week. I didn't stay within my nutritional ranges several days and I didn't hit my full calories burned goal either. I guess I thought maybe I would have stayed the same but no, I gained .4 pounds. And this coming week is the last full week of June - I wanted to be at 150.4 by the end of June so I'd better get my butt in gear this week. I guess I have to lose 1 pound by next Sunday! Wish me luck! The week after that we leave for Florida. OH BOY! I want to be under 150 when we leave. I don't even care if I'm 149.8...STILL COUNTS! I know I'm going to put weight on while I'm down there but I want to get past that 150 number before I put weight back on. You know what I mean? I just think it will be easier then when I get back to lose it again.

I guess that's all for me. I hope everyone has a great week. GOOD LUCK!

emoticon

I agree, Nicole. We have more to do in the summer months. I will try to post in the chat once a week ??? I do post to the Wall everyday & we can keep up there.

Sounds like all of us are still in the same boat, gaining a few, losing a few - the vicious circle continues. emoticon

Keep in touch when you can, my friends. emoticon emoticon

Kim, Bescats - I think checking in on this thread once a week is sufficient. Don't you? Unless something major happens.
emoticon

Bescats - I'm sorry to hear of your aunt's passing and of Sophie's as well. My condolences. emoticon

Kim - I know how it feels to be stuck in a holding pattern...losing and gaining the same two pounds for several months now. I'm hoping to finally break that cycle this month. Seems like I'm on the right track. I hope you can find the right path as well!

Still, it must be really exciting prepping for China! It's going to be amazing. You'll have to take lots of pictures so we can see it!

As for me, today is my son's 9th birthday. Just doing a small celebration tonight (making a cake too) and then next week is the big family party. Ugh. Cake, cake and more cake. Always my downfall!

Hi ladies! It seems like I only get on here once a week or so. So sorry that I haven't been around much. Between working, planning my lessons for China and running errands to get ready, I am not having a lot of time to be on here.

I am like both of you ladies, not so good, not so bad! I haven't lost anything in the last couple of weeks, but I haven't gained anything either. I have just been fluctuating in a 3 pound range which is what I always seem to do.

My dad leaves the hospital tomorrow so that will be one less burden off of my mind. He is still not walking but is able to get around now a lot better so it seems like he will be more comfortable there.

Bescats- so sorry to hear about the passing of your aunt and of Sophie.

Nicole- enjoy your vacation to Florida!!!

Anyways- a bit of a busy weekend so I'd better get started! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sorry that I don't get to the chat every day, either.

Oh how I wish I could go to Florida with you. I would love to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I have the whole series of DVD's and have watched them several times. I just love them !! I am with you on the roller coaster, and don't know if I could do it. I hope some day I get a chance to see !!

Still being good with the exercise, but not the food. Not going to say more. emoticon

Been a sad week so far. Yesterday, our son had to let one of his Schnauzers pass over the Rainbow Bridge. Her name was Sophie, and she was the mother of both of my Schnauzers. They discovered about a week ago that she had diabetes, but was to late, it had done liver damage according to the Vet. She has been hospitalized for a week, and they finally had to let her go. I hate it when anyone loses an animal. emoticon

This morning I got a call from my sister, that our aunt has passed away. She had a stroke a few months ago, and she had been doing better, but guess she decided she didn't want to suffer anymore. She lived in Oklahoma, but was in Florida to take care of her brother, who is in his 80's.....They will be having a service in Oklahoma, then a service in Maine, where she will be buried with her first husband, who died on June 11, 1967, now she is gone on the same day 47 years later.....She will be happy to be with him again.

Well, so much for the sad news. Please enjoy your evening, and we'll keep pushing along until we get there !!

If you haven't failed, you haven't lived !

Laugh, and the world laughs with you !!

Hi Ladies!

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted on this thread. I guess the new "wall" postings are just a bit easier.

I've not been terrible, but I haven't exactly been great either. I've more or less had decent days with the occasional really bad day. LOL!

I'm looking forward to July right now. We're going to visit my in-laws for 14 days. It's going to be AWESOME! While we're there (they live in Florida) we're going to pop over to Universal Studios for two days to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I'm super-excited! Probably more so than my youngest son (the second biggest Harry Potter fan in our house!)!!! I've not been there yet and I cannot wait to see it. I may even have to get over my fear of roller coasters in order to experience the Hogwarts ride. We shall see!

Nicole, glad to hear that your yard sale went well. emoticon I have been trying to clean out, too !!

I'm not sure why none of us are very motivated right now, especially me, I'm retired and have plenty of time to watch what I'm doing. The two of you have a full life, and it is more difficult to fit everything in, and at the end of the day you are tired. emoticon I will admit that I have become rather lazy since retiring. I just keep saying "I have plenty of time". emoticon

Kim, I think you should take Nicole and I with you to China. emoticon That way we could help each other stay on track ~~ well maybe !! I'd be afraid we would have to much fun sampling everything. I hope you have a great time. emoticon

Nothing much going on in my life. Very boring most of the time. It's been very warm the past few day, but I'll take it. Suppose to rain today, but so far it hasn't. As long as it doesn't thunder I will be happy, so the dogs don't get upset.

Take care, ladies. Have a great evening. emoticon

Hi ladies,

I am feeling your guy's pain! Every morning I wake up and say that today I am going to stay on track - and then I don't!!! So, I feel what you guys are feeling!

I have been busily getting prepared for my trip to China. I have to do some lesson planning (like making Power Points) and photocopying. I also have to go and buy a few things to help to support my lessons. It's a lot of work! I haven't taught all this year, so I forgot how much work it is to plan lessons. But it's been fun, thinking of ways to help the Chinese teachers better learn the language and hopefully giving them fun activities to do in their classrooms with their students.

But, with all this work, there is less and less exercise going on and more and more eating going on - especially when I am just setting on the couch planning.

So, needless to say, the weigh loss train has not yet left the station! Ugh!!!! So, my goal is to maybe lose a pound or two before I go just so that all of the new clothes I just bought still fit - don't want to gain anything for fear that I will get there and have nothing to wear because I gained too much... hahaha!!!

Ok, going to bed now so that I can function at work tomorrow.

Take care ladies! And lets hope we can all get back on track soon!

Thanks Bescats! emoticon

Well, I squeezed in a workout last night even though I really didn't want to. I had a dr's appt for my knee and I have to get an xray at some point. I'll probably try to do that early next week.

Tomorrow is our big community yard sale so I'll most likely not be on Spark until late in the evening, and that will be minimal. I know I'll burn some decent calories tonight getting everything up from our basement and loading tables from our church into my parents van, then unloading it at our house. But I'm worried because my parents always bring donuts and when we're rushing around outside and dealing with customers it's easy to just grab one quick and keep going. Ugh.

Cheer up, Nicole. I have been doing the same thing. What IS the matter with us ?????
I think I'm bored with the same, old thing, but don't know what to do about it.
I didn't exercise yesterday because I didn't go to the gym. I was going to ride by stationary bike, but decided to sit on the porch with a glass of wine, instead. emoticon My eating wasn't to bad yesterday, but don't expect to see any weight loss this week.

Just did a little walking today while out shopping. Had a healthy dinner, but we stopped for ice cream on our way home from shopping, put it in the freezer, then had it after dinner. Well, there went the healthy. emoticon

Hang in there, emoticon emoticon or at least hold steady for now !!

emoticon Kim. Stop by when you can so we know you are doing okay, and still with us.

It's amazing how fast things change. Yesterday afternoon I was "getting back on track". Then I got home and fell apart. I didn't exercise, I didn't make a healthy dinner (in fact, we ordered pizza for dinner) then I just laid on the couch most of the evening.

I'm hoping to squeeze in a 1 mile walking workout (Leslie Sansone DVD) before I have to get ready to go to the dr tonight. Ugh.

Yes, Nicole, we will get through this. Summer, to me, is the hardest time to stay away from the wrong foods. All the ice cream places are open, it's time for the barbecue, and all the salads that go with it. The only way I can stay on track is to NOT buy any of the junk food. If it's around, it call to me. I have been feeling tired lately, and I think it is the way I have been eating. The only thing that's keeping me at a reasonable weight is the exercise. Unfortunately, my DH isn't any help. emoticon

Bescats - I'm in TERRIBLE shape. I keep eating too much of the wrong stuff. I've heard sugar is like a drug and once it's in your system it's hard to stop. Your body will just want more and more and more. I totally believe that. I feel like an addict!

I wish I could say I'm just going to stop eating it and stick to it. But I know that's unrealistic. For me it is, anyway.

We WILL get better control though. RIGHT!!???!!

Kim - Keep up the great work! You're going to do GREAT!

Hello ladies, glad to see that the two of you are doing okay.

Kim, you must be getting so excited about your upcoming trip to China, and having fun doing some shopping for the trip. emoticon It is good that you have been able to get in some exercise, even just a little. emoticon things will work out !!

Nicole, I sure hope your week has gone better than last Friday. Children can be so difficult, especially at that age. Of course, they know everything, and you know nothing. emoticon

You are just like me, if there is "junk" food around you have to have some. emoticon You did a good job staying away from the cookies. I'm proud of you.
emoticon

And, a healthy dinner is good. I had a pizza-for-one (not so healthy). My DH gone to a meeting & eating out, and I didn't feel like cooking just for myself. I also had some chips with it, which I should not have had. emoticon I was doing so well at the beginning of the month, but it didn't last. I don't know what's wrong with me. BooHoo !!

Well, ladies, have a good evening. No worries, we will keep pushing on !!

Hey Kim! Glad to hear you're holding steady. I'm sure you'll agree - it's definitely better than GAINING. RIGHT??!!!
emoticon

Hang in there! And enjoy shopping! I would love to go clothes shopping right now. Maybe in another few months though.

Today I haven't been exactly great. We had a department meeting and I ate a piece of cake. And there were cookies and I kept eyeing them up, although I did abstain. But that's only because I keep telling myself that I ate that piece of cake AND half a donut already today!

Well, tonight I'm making a healthy dinner. It's finally cool enough in our house that I feel like I can cook. And that's only because the weather has cooled a bit due to storms in our area. Tomorrow should be cooler too. Then it starts getting hotter again. The HVAC company is coming out Friday to start the work and we should have A/C again by Tuesday 6/3. I hope it doesn't get too hot between now and then!

Hey ladies,

I haven't been to the pool since last week, but I have every plan to get there tomorrow morning. Everything is set up and ready to go. Wish me luck.

I have spent a lot of time at the mall lately trying to get clothes for China. I am kind of not sure what to wear over there when it's so hot. Plus sometimes I have to be dressed a little nicer when I am teaching, and other times I can be more casual when I am site seeing.

But I must admit that with all of the stress of trying to get ready to go and with my dad in the hospital, I have not been walking as much as I should. Regardless of that, I have managed to stay at the same weight for 2 weeks now. I am pretty happy with that considering that I haven't done a ton. So I wish I had lost a few pounds in the last 2 weeks, but at least I didn't gain anything!!!

Ok, gotta run to bed - I am exhausted! Talk to you all later!

Just a quickie. Walked a ton today at our local zoo. My youngest son's class had a field trip and I was a group leader for 8 kids. Lots of hilly terrain and almost like hiking in spots. I'm beat. And it was H-O-T! Looking forward to these thunderstorms moving in to cool things off. Still no A/C...stupid company hasn't even scheduled us for the work yet. Called this morning and was promised a call back today. Just called them again a few minutes ago and the guy who promised he'd call me back already left for the day. Geez.

Friday was an exceptionally awful day. My oldest son was really giving me a hard time about wanting to quit his job (which, incidentally, he just started 3 weeks ago; is only 12 hours/week on Friday & Saturdays only; he begged and pleaded to work there because his friend works there) and I wouldn't tell him it was ok to do that. It was awful. He really threw a teenage tantrum of an epic proportion. Luckily he has since calmed down but Friday was HORRENDOUS!

Saturday and Sunday were fantastic. Beautiful weather. My DH, youngest son and I went on a few bike rides and had a great time. My oldest son won't go with us anymore so I've just learned to accept that.

Today we're going over to my parents house for dinner. I offered to have them here but they wanted us to go over there. That's fine - I don't have to spend the day cleaning my house now! LOL!

Kim- I hope that pool work is helping out. That actually sounds really interesting. I'd love to try that myself!

Bescats - I hope your knee is feeling better today.

Take care everyone!

emoticon Kim at getting back to the pool.

Our oldest son called today, and he and his wife will be over on Sunday. Until then, we didn't have any plans, but guess I'll be doing some holiday cooking. Probably steaks, corn-on-the-cob, and potato salad. Maybe even a nice glass of emoticon . One is my limit. emoticon Going to be busy, so may not be on much this weekend, but will try.

Hope you are doing okay, Nicole, and enjoy your weekend and time off.

Hey ladies. I hope you both have a wonderful long weekend. Ours was last weekend, so I guess that I can't be too jealous, but I still am a bit! Do either of you have any big plans for the weekend?

I got to the pool twice this week - Thursday morning and this morning. It's nice to get back at it - although I am not swimming, I am water jogging - so like running but in the deep water which makes it really easy on my knees and on my feet. I am hoping to burn some calories and lose a few pounds so that I can hopefully feel less pain in the future.

Have a good one. I am hoping to enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures before we are going to get 3 days of rain in a row next week.

Good evening, ladies. emoticon

Kim, you need to get your Dad some Lego blocks so he can sit and build houses until he gets better. emoticon Glad he is doing okay. You keep up the good work yourself, hope you got them swim in !!

Nothing special for us Memorial Day weekend. We'll probably BBQ something, but haven't planned anything. I was smart, I wouldn't eat anything good. I REALLY have not been very good this week, and hate to see what the scale says on Saturday. emoticon
If I don't get back at it, I won't dare to put on my summer workout clothes.

Nicole, I hope you got to go on your bike ride, and had a good time. Don't forget to post a photo of you in those nifty new shorts ~ we'll be waiting !!

Hey Ladies!

Yeah, I'm doing ok after the dentist. Still a little sore but I'm hoping by the weekend that will be gone.

Is anyone doing anything for Memorial Day? We're just having my parents over for dinner...a cookout. Nothing fancy.

I'm looking at getting back on my bike tonight (hopefully the weather holds out) since I got my nifty new bike shorts! Extra padding should help the comfort level for my bike ride. I swore I wasn't going to get back on that thing until I got a pair. And they arrived yesterday! YAY!

Hello ladies,
I am going to get up early to go swimming in the morning!!! It's been awhile since I have done that and I am hoping that I can start a new trend to get in a little more physical activity.

My dad is doing ok- he is in high spirits and knows that it could have been so much worse! He is holding up even though he is getting tired of sitting on his butt! This is a man whole has built houses since he was 18 years old so he is not used to just sitting in one place.

I am doing ok. I have not really worked out in a few days, but I am trying really hard to keep my calories down so that I don't gain anything while not working out.

Nicole, glad you were feeling ok after the dentist. Glad you got a chance to plant your flowers.
Bescats, glad that you and your hubby are getting back to the gym. It helps to have someone to go with.

emoticon emoticon KIM !!

I think Nicole, and I are doing about the same as you ~ lose 2 lbs., gain 2 lbs. emoticon But, we have been maintaining pretty well this month. We are glad to have you back to encourage us !!

Yes, my hubby had thyroid surgery, but he seems to be doing okay. He started back to the gym with me this week. Can do his treadmill, but still can't lift any weights for awhile. They say no straining until his neck heals. We also look the dogs for a walk yesterday, and he got very tired. Probably to much, to soon.

Really sorry to hear about your Dad. Sounds awful, but glad to hear that it wasn't worse. Hope he feels better soon. emoticon

I have been going to the gym this week, but can't seem to get back to eating right. Have good days, and bad. I'm just so tired of the same foods. emoticon

Nicole, hope your dentist appointment went well. I haven't checked in on any other parts of the team yet, or left any comments. I hope you are better.

Have a great evening, ladies !! emoticon

So glad to hear you're back and going to be checking in more regularly again. We missed you! emoticon

So sorry to hear about your dad...that's awful. How is he holding up?

Bescats and I have been holding down the fort...I wish we could report that things are going better for us than they were for you, but apparently even without you checking in we were still in the same boat!

Keep up the great work. Maybe now that you're back our team will restore it's balance and we can all start losing weight again!

Hi ladies,
It's me again! I bought an iPad this weekend, so I can now log into Spark People again! I will admit that I haven't read any of the posts since the last time I logged in. There were just so many! Sorry! I did skim them though, and I see that Bescats, your husband had surgery - I hope that he is doing ok. I also noticed Nicole that you have been doing some running - keep it up!!!

Things here have looked like this- I gained 2 pounds, I lost 2 pounds, I gained 2 pounds, I lost 2 pounds. I am currently in a lose 2 pounds phase this week. We will see how it goes. Maybe I can not gain them back! That would be good!

Also, my dad fell off a roof and crushed both of his heels so he is unable to Walmart for at least 3 months, if not more and may never walk again properly. Work has been crazy, but I am trucking along!!!

I am glad to see Bescats and Nicole that you are both on here and supporting one another. I hope to get back to the swing of things before I have to leave again in July for China. I should be checking in more often again now!!!

Have a great evening ladies!

emoticon Bescats!

I'm the same way. I'll even be the one saying "Let's treat ourselves to ice cream tonight" or something like that. Then I kick myself the rest of the day for indulging. And then I eat more junk to soothe myself. It's a vicious cycle.
emoticon

I did some gardening (well, weeding really) last night. About 70 minutes. I only tracked 60 though because part of the time I was out there I was keeping away from a bee. I really, really hate bees. It's a shame because I love honey.

Oh yes, Nicole, especially if I go off my eating track for just one day, I find it very difficult to get back on track. UGH !!

I did good all day, but we decided to go out tonight, and hubby wanted Chinese. I NEVER should go to a buffet ~~ Never, never, never. emoticon Then we stopped for ice cream, and now I feel way to full & yucky !! All my hard work at the gym today, just went down the tube. emoticon

Time to kick myself in the butt & get back to work.

Oh Barb...I've been there so many times too. Why do we do it to ourselves?

I wish I had an answer.

Sometimes it just feels like no matter how long I'm at this I still have to fight myself every day. Do you feel like that too?

A really short one today !! I got on the scale for my weekly weigh-in, and had gained. Except for going over on Mother's Day, I was good all week, got lots of exercise, and still gained weight ~ so today I have been very bad with my food intake. I hate it when I get discouraged, and decide to eat, eat, eat. emoticon Even changed what's for dinner, instead of healthy, we are having pizza. I know I'll be sorry for it later, but I was really discouraged with my weigh-in, just wasn't expecting it.

Nicole and Kim, I hope both of you are doing well, and having a great weekend. emoticon

OMG, you have to wait until September ??? I guess that does give you time to enjoy your summer (I hope). I'm glad you are feeling a little better. emoticon Do what you can for exercise, even if it's "chair" exercise. Be careful, don't want you to get worse. emoticon

Nicole, I don't think your weight is that far off, if at all. I'm sure you will reach your 150 goal before your surgery, then focus on good eating while you recuperate. That will be an important step. You have had major worries lately, but you are still hanging in there with your weight ~ you haven't gained a ton. Be proud of yourself !! emoticon

A little rain here today, but not much. It is cooler, but still nice. I'm not bundled up, so it must be warm. emoticon

Finally got my Mother's Day gift from the other son. UPS only took a week to get it here. He sent a cute box filled with Mrs. Field's cookies. Just what I need. emoticon I can't believe the calories in them, so I better be careful, but they are Sooooo good !!

emoticon emoticon Yes, I mean "we" !!

A very rainy, dark, and cool day here today. Luckily it's Friday and not Monday or I would be insanely bored. LOL!

Still not feeling all that great, but there's been some improvement. I'm hoping by Monday to be back to exercising again. Gosh, if not I will be REALLY worried.

My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 3. Oh my! It's really going to happen! It sure would be nice (here we go again) if I could get under 150 pounds before the surgery. That way if I do gain some weight it wouldn't have me back in the upper 150's, it would be the lower to middle 150's. I know that's only 3-4 pounds to lose in 3 months. It should be easy. But with the way things have been going the last few months I don't know if that's possible.

Bescats - I sure hope you're doing better than I am!

It's definitely the right decision, Bescats. I know it is. Just Tuesday night my abdomen felt like someone inflated a balloon inside me. It hurt so badly I could barely walk. All day yesterday I struggled. Today it's a lot better. Interesting note - yesterday morning I measured my abdomen along my belly button, just under the belly button, and just over the belly button. I was curious if I really am "ballooning" as I feel I am.

I don't remember all the numbers between today and yesterday, but I do remember one set: yesterday across my belly button I was 39" and today it was 37.5". And similarly the other sets went down from yesterday to today. I'm still cramping a bit and uncomfortable, but no where near as bad as it was yesterday. I'm going to measure myself again once all this cramping is gone and I feel "normal" again to see if it goes down even more.

Is it any wonder I feel so horrible??? What is going on in there??!!! Honestly.

So I haven't been working out at all this week and my eating has been ok. Not great. Just ok. I'm sure I'll gain weight again on Sunday when I weigh in. Bummer.

We're going to Florida in July and I was hoping to be under 150 (although my actual goal is to be under 150 by the end of the year) but I don't think that's going to happen. I guess so long as I'm under 170 I'm still lighter than I was the last time we went there. That's positive. Right??

Sorry to hear you gained a pound. Are you weighing yourself every day? If so, I wouldn't worry about that. We all fluctuate in weight every day. But if it's your normal day of the week, and the normal time of the day that you weigh in...then I would say it's likely accurate. But 1 pound isn't the end of the world! Like you said...you're back on track and doing well. Guaranteed that 1 pound is gone by next Thursday!

Nicole, it's a tough decision, and deep down has been causing you much stress. Making a decision for major surgery is never easy, but it sounds like it is the right decision, as nothing else seems to be helping much. These days you aren't even "laid up" for any length of time, they get you back on your feet quickly. I'm sure there will be no exercise, except maybe walking, but if you are careful with food, you will be okay. emoticon Believe me, when all is said and done, you won't miss those monthly visits. emoticon

I decided to weigh myself this morning, and was surprised to find that I have gained 1 lb., which I was not expecting, and it kind of depressed me. I was not good on Mother's Day, but have stayed on track since then, so heavens knows what I gained in just that one day. emoticon

Nicole, even with setbacks, I think you and I are doing much better in May, than we did in April. emoticon emoticon

Kim, if you are out there know that we are thinking of you, and hope all is well. emoticon

Made my decision - getting the hysterectomy. Last night the intense pain I had in my abdomen (hormone-related) was so bad I just can't stand it anymore. I'm taking maximum strength Midol and it's barely doing anything. I can't live like this anymore. I know, in my heart of hearts, that this is the right decision.

It's still scary. But it's for the best. Now all I have to do is get through the next 3 months or so...

That is the big question, Bescats. What is going on????
emoticon

I wish I knew. I don't know if I'm gearing up for another TOM visit or what. Things are so screwy in that department there's no way to really know. And I do suspect hormones are partly to blame for how I'm feeling lately. There's really no other explanation.

I'm just hungry all the time, I'm tired, I'm just feeling generally worn down. I've decided to take the week off from exercise (unless I really feel like I want to). I'm hopeful that taking the week off to just rest and refocus my energy will help next week. We shall see.

Today I ate a cookie and afterwards I felt satisfied and full for several hours. Weird. Right?

Hey, Nicole, what's going on ??? I have read that it takes your brain about 20 minutes to tell your stomach that it is full. I suppose that is true, as long as we are eating the right combination of food. Is your diet lacking something (i.e not enough protein, carbs, etc.) ?

I overate yesterday, with all the good food my son brought over for Mother's Day, but I got back on track today, and back to the gym. Hubby can't go for a couple of weeks, so I forced myself to go alone. I could have easily stayed home, but I didn't. emoticon for me !!

I hope you had a great Mother's Day, too, Nicole. How did the hike go ? Definitely good exercise. emoticon

Kim, I hope everything is going well for you, and that your computer problems get fixed soon. Miss hearing from you. emoticon

Have a great evening, ladies.

So I'm extremely hungry today. Don't know why. And really, I guess I've been worse but I feel like every time I eat something, 10 minutes later my tummy is growling and my brain starts thinking about the NEXT thing to eat. What the heck??!!

I hope everyone else is doing better than I am right now.
